Chapter 24 - Magic Is Not Lost

Rainn didn't notice the look from Vyra. He just looked at Amia with confused eyes. What happened to him? Why were his eyes feel like they were pricked with thorns when he tried to use a skill on Amia? Could this have something to do with the supernatural creature that met her when Amia was a child?

Many things were running through Rainn's head. But he couldn't find the answer himself now. His head still felt a little dizzy.

The club activity lasted for at least an hour more until finally, Amia said that today's activity was enough. The four of them left the club room.

Vyra followed Rainn in the corridor. While Rainn himself was holding his head and didn't even notice Vyra was behind him.

Rainn still couldn't figure out what had happened. There was something about Amia that even his level 4 Ultimate Instinct power couldn't penetrate. And that bothered Rainn.

"Tut, you there?" Rainn said loudly without thinking.

Vyra who was following behind widened her eyes in surprise hearing Rainn speak to himself. She studied Rainn further.

"What happened back there?" Rainn asked Tut. Of course, Vyra couldn't hear Tut's presence inside Rainn's head. This made her even more curious.

'I don't know. It seems she has a very strong barrier,' replied Tut.

"So there's something this power can't penetrate, huh?" Said Rainn.

Vyra frowned, 'This power?'

'It seems so.' Answered Tut.

"Ahh," Rainn sighed in annoyance. "Does this have anything to do with-"

Rainn suddenly saw Vyra's reflection in the dull classroom window. Rainn immediately turned around.

Vyra flinched in surprise when she saw Rainn suddenly turn around.

"How long have you been there?!" Rainn asked in a sharp voice.

"Hm? A-Ah, I just-"

"Don't try to lie!" Snapped Rainn.

"You've been following me ever since?"

Vyra finally gave up on finding an excuse she would use to lie. Because right now it seemed like all of that would be of no use.

"Yes, I've been following you ever since," Vyra answered honestly with a sigh.

Rainn gritted his teeth. That meant that Vyra had been hearing his ramblings ever since. But Vyra shouldn't understand anything about it. So Rainn let out a resigned sigh, "You must think I'm crazy, don't you?"

Vera didn't answer right away. She just looked at Rainn with a look that was difficult to interpret.

"I do like talking to myself. It's up to you how you judge," Rainn said. 'It's better to think I'm crazy than to suspect I have some strange power.'

Rainn turned and walked away. While Vyra followed beside him. Rainn only glanced at her briefly.

"Can you use magic?" asked Vyra suddenly in a small voice. She immediately decided to ignore the fact that Rainn was talking to himself a while ago because she was more interested in it. For now.

Rainn stopped suddenly. Then turned to Vyra with a furrowed brow, "W-What?"

"I asked if you could use..." Vyra came closer and whispered. "Magic?"

Rainn didn't know what to say. And Rainn's hesitation made Vyra even more sure of her conclusion.

"I know that the knowledge imparted to us is that magic power has disappeared from this world. But," Vyra suddenly formed a small wind vortex in the palm of her hand. "That power is actually still possessed by certain people."

Rainn stared at the small wind vortex that danced on Vyra's palm with wide eyes.

"You are one of those people who are gifted with magic," Vyra said.

"Can you feel it?" Rain asked.

"Any magic-user can sense if another magic is moving," replied Vyra.

'Is that true?' Rainn said in his mind. "You know how to use it?" Rain asked.

"I'm still learning to do it. But there's someone who's much more expert at using magic than me," replied Vyra.

"Who is that?"

"My father."

Rain thought this could be a way for him to strengthen himself. However, is it okay to ask Vyra's father to help train him? That seemed a long way off for Rainn to imagine.

After considering everything, Rainn thought not to ask for the favor. He still had the shame to understand his place. "Ah, is that so."

Rainn then walked ahead of Vyra. Vyra dispelled the whirlwind in her palm and followed Rainn again.

"Practice with me. My father would love to see someone new who is gifted with magic. You know, not many people can use magic these days."

Rainn glanced at Vyra, "Why are you suddenly so fussy?"

"Ah!" Vyra was surprised as if realized what she did.

Rainn actually felt that it was a very good opportunity. He needs guidance from whoever or whatever he can get to become stronger.

Just now Rainn swallowed his urge to ask Vyra's father for help, then Vyra offered him to be trained. Rainn couldn't have hoped for a better opportunity than this.

"Are you sure?" Rain asked.

"Well, I mean . . . if you don't mind," replied Vyra.

"I don't mind. But I'm an idiot so I might trouble your father."

Vyra smiled, "You don't need to worry. My father is a patient man."

Rain smiled. But Rainn's smile always looked like a smirk.

Today there probably won't be a notification about the Main Quest that he has to do. That means Rainn doesn't need to do anything even though there are only three days left for the time limit for his Main Quest.

Rainn didn't think long. He will just wait for the notification from Systema only. If it wasn't there, Rainn wouldn't have bothered to find out.

He has agreed with Vyra that he will visit Vyra's house after school. And so, here is Rainn now. He was in front of a white fenced house in district twelve. The Brynelle family home is very large and luxurious. It was definitely a very different world from where he lived.

'So this is where Vyra lives,' Rainn thought as he looked around the house.

Vyra's house is in a nice neighborhood complex. Rainn almost thought that Vyra was royalty before Rainn remembered that all nobles wouldn't interact with commoners like him.

Rainn rang the bell next to the railing. Not long after that, the screen beside the bell lit up.

"You've come." Vyra's face greeted him with a smile. Rain nodded.

The gate opened on its own and Rainn stepped inside. He saw Vyra waving from a distance. It turned out that there was still a path that he had to pass to reach the entrance of this house.

Vyra wore yoga pants and a tight black tank top that accentuated all of her curves. Rainn gulped when he sees Vyra's appearance. He reminded himself again to focus on his current main goal. Which is practicing magic.

Vyra led Rainn to a separate building on the right side of the house. As they entered, Rainn could see the figure of a muscular man whose hair was mostly white.

The man turned and smiled. Her face and smile look similar to Vyra's.

"So your name is Rainn," the man said in a deep voice. Rainn replied with a nod. Judging from anywhere, Rainn could tell that the man in front of him was indeed very strong.
