#Fiction: settings are not real ok?? Ok?? Another song added up
Name: Stay with me
Leah
Umm...(・・ ) ?
That was weird??? The guest left soon after they showered me with lots of praises like 'you look absolutely adorable.' 'I can't wait to be family!'
'Sweatheart, you're just irresistible. I can see why he likes you so much!'
I couldn't say anything except to let auntie get all squeezy squeezy with my cheeks until it turned red.
What an odd guest.
That was my last thought as they entered into their private car, and then gone.
I smiled widely, while I walked down the hall and wondered who that lucky girl is that got to take my brothers hand. Time sure do flies fast. Now my brother is going to get married.
'I can be his best man, and wish them happy life! Muster up courage to speak to audience about how I believed he would be one of those single dogs, chilling lonely on the couch, grown ass beard old man gradually withering away.'
"Oh brother, I didn't know you did this to me!(*'▽'*)" I cried out with joy as I saw him engaging in deep conversation with mom and dad about something.
He was startled due to my sudden outburst. I was a little concerned by what he was talking about when he looked damn serious. I never saw him take anything serious in his life, not even once. Was he not happy about this arrangement?( ̄ヘ ̄)
Was it an arrange marriage and he doesn't want to get settled. Or did he mistake my loudness as a sign of disapproval??
"U-uh Leah, welcome I didn't think you would return so soon!" He grinned awkwardly, shuffling the papers before I can get a glimpse of it.
I squinted my eyes, knitting my eyebrows. "Somethin's smell fishy." I silently whispered which he heard it and refused looking straight into my eyes. I sighed. So obivous.
"What is it?" He asked, this time with more worries. Still nervously cracking the lips to smile.
"Nothing," I let him off the hook for it is his choice whether to tell me or not.
I just started humming to the music that I played on my phone and placed them on the counter of the kitchen.
Judging by his expression I can tell spooked my brother out with my unexpected behaviors.
I grabbed him by his shoulder to his surprise with both my hands and gradually pushed him out of the kitchen and into the dining room, where my parents were already busy with their works. They aren't that bad, but it just that they lack the time to give to us. It just feel distance although we're only a feat apart...
Forget about it for today since our big and charming brother is getting married! Yay!
"You just sit and buckle up. I cooked you your fav, a treat from your dear brother." Off I went swaying my hips to the music. Then marching in and dancing, chopping the meat, veg and frying them and putting right about of salt in the meat. He loves it that way. Me too. Even some ice cream as a dessert that I left it in the refrigerator to ice it before I placed the dinner enough for everyone, even for Sara though she never comes for the family dinner. She will be out partying the whole night.
She never forgets to eat the icecream and blueberry popsicles in the middle of the night, so she could let out some steams all puffed cheeks and grumbled lying back on the couch after shifting it into a bed. It was funny, mustn't let her know that I know this crazy fact about her, or else I am good to be called a dead meat.
"Say, why are you in such a happy mood? Did something good happen?" He asked while digging into the meal delightly. He was feeling so over cloud nine it was showing all over his face. I chuckled at him when he forgot all his table manners in the mist of mindlessly devouring the food.
I was not in the mood to take anything heavy, so I directly ate the desserts and snacks which no one minded as they knew my routines.
"So, when is the marriage?" I was sipping my life lipton as I casually questioned him.
He paused for a moment in stiffened posture, but resumed eating like nothing happened.
"....it's.. next year I think, you don't mind?" He asked, reluctantly.
Why would I? "As long as you don't," 'Cause it is his life who am I to judge or control his life.
He looked giving one heck of a crazy look. Was it really that bad of a reply?
"You don't mind that the marriage with 'him', Haze S-T-E-V-E-N- STEVENs is asking for the marriage so suddenly?!"
I can tell he had lot on his mind than what he apppeared to be in the outside.
"Oh 'him'?" Is my brother gay? "I don't mind him. I met his parents just right now, and they seemed nice."
Ah.. this ice cream is the best. I moaned, the cold vanilla and chocolate cream down my throat, it's so refreshing. I giggling peeked in to see what my parents are thinking.
"Why am I not surprised that you didn't put a fight?" He groaned.
Even the parents were prying into the conversation, but they decided against saying anything.
"So, congrats brother!" I happily said, then I hugged him, "I'll miss you if you ever decide to move out."
"....?" He didn't answer, until he questioned, "what?"
"Wait what? Are we on the same page?"
"Silly brother, we are celebrating your engagement to your fiancé!" I declared and he returned it with him chocking to his saliva in his wind pipe, so he banged his chest to calm himself.
When it finally stopped and took a long breathe, his left eye twitching.
Even our parents burst out laughing for what ever the reason is. I never saw them laughing so hard in my entire life.
"....what's so funny?" I asked, turning my head to the side.
No one said anything, since my parents they were busy trying to stop their laughter while holding onto their stomach and brother.... he looked brain dead.
"Oh bro. You don't have to worry. I am not mad at you for not telling that you are gay. I forgive you. I love all! No descrimination! Besides you are not getting any younger. You need to find to settle down with, then love and have adopt two beautiful kids," I said imagining his bright future ahead of him, now both mom and dead were dying and crying at the same time.
"What's so funny? I feel left out." I frowned.
"What's wrong with you all? His parents said that they said they were going to be our soon relative, so I thought their daughter is going to marry into the family. Well, not anymore," I said, " I hope I will get to meet him soon."
I would have never guessed he would swing that side. Brother is brother, no matter what he likes.
Luca
'Soon'? You don't know how soon you are going to get to meet him. I watched him go up to his room to get ready to pack his clothes and things to move into his domintory, away from home for the first time.
"... oh my... ha... he's so dense...haha.." I watched my parents finally coming to their sense and wiping off their tears. They looked at me wanting to say, 'what did we say? Didn't we tell you that let us handle the situation? That's what you get for telling us off.'
"...Don't," I growled, but they didn't and starting poking my arms with both their fore fingers.
"What?" They said sounding clueless, "we made it clear, didn't we? We should tell him the truth."
"But now, it's you who's getting married according to him. He totally believes you swing that side."
They were drilling holes in my arms. Their teasing eyes hurts my pride more than their poking.
What am I going to do with them? And how am I going to clear the misunderstanding that I am not getting married, but 'he is'.
"I hope I did the right thing."
Leah
"Shake it off, shake it off," I sang along with the music in a low voice, blasting my wireless airpot on the way to the airport while I was in the front of the car, tapping with my finger on the thigh matching the rhythm of the song.
My brother came to drop me, worried about me that I might get abducted at the last minute of my flight. Who would even dare to perform the kidnapping operation in the eyes of the thousand witness.
"Luca," I said, "calm down will you? I am just getting on board of the plane not a suicide time bomb."
It only triggered his protective alarm.
" suicide.. time bomb....."oi oi. Where is the rest of the sentence. Did he even hear what I said? "You are right! That's why I should have let you get on the my private plane, all to yourself with 4- no. 8! Bodyguards each with specialist in killing and ready to put their life on line for you. 24/7 on duty. ASAP! And shoot kill--" I covered his mouth, he spoke too loud.
Everyone stared wearily at us talking about killing and blood thing.
I whispered, "shhh.. You are just scaring them!" He stopped, finally some peace of mind.
"I report, passengers from the Winston plane, please report to board. The flight is going to now take off." We heard the announcement, it was my flight, so with my backpack, I rushed to the gateway after waving my brother goodbye and showed the ticket to the hostess who wished me a happy journey of 5hrs. I nodded my head and start to find my sit which I couldn't find it.
"Excuse me, sir? Let me show you your sit."
The air hostess said, and led to front of the VIP section, all alone.
"I hope you enjoy your flight, good day sir." Then she went.
I slump down on my cozy sit, but I didn't book my flight. It was my brother, and I shouldn't have let him do that.
I just wanted to enjoy a normal life with someone to talk to by my side and then get to know each other.
Huff, I guess it will always remain a dream.
I did what I would normally do at the time like this. From the backpack, I took out my bunny blind fold to doze off to sleep with the soothing music still playing.
I leaned the head back, arms on the side and thought of one thing.
'One sheep two sheep three sheep four sheep and...'
*snore...
I dozed off for who knows how long until someone tugged my hoodie from my sleeves.
'One more minute'
Once again, I felt the tug.
"Wha- what? Are we already there?" I sleepily stared at the blury image in front of me: I thought I was looking at the air hostess but there was no one.
It was a kid, teddy in one hand and tears under his eyes. He could be around 4 to 5 years of age judging by his appearance.
My gaze softened looking at the crying kid. I got down on my knees and petted on his head.
"What's wrong?" I asked, cradling him in my arms. He must be four or so in age. Let's say, he is sooooo cute with the bed head and dazling eyes,
"Went to pee. Mommy slept. And Lots.." he stopped crying in my arms with his arms around my neck.
"Do you mean you got lost when you went to pee and you didn't want to disturb you sleeping mom?" I asked wipping the tears away with my thumbs.
He nodded. Brave kid, I smiled at his kind gesture to not wanting to trouble his mom. Then I guess I have to make sure I go to the attendent and announce the lost kid.
"Hey?" I whispered to him, "what's your name, sweetie?" I better make sure to get his name.
He just looked down at the flow with confused covering his face. He thought and thought until he finally said, "Adi."
"Wow! Such a sweet name, Adi." I praised him. He even gave me adorable few tooth smile. Aww~. That's why kids are angel on earth!
I pinched his cheeks lovingly and rubbed his soft nose.
"You guchi guchi. There, there.
This brother of yours will get you to your parents. So in the mean time, I want you to enjoy some chocolate and candy right here." I carried him in my arms to the sit beside my own and pulled him a tray to keep the sweets.
He sat obediently awed at the comfortness of the huge sit, it has extra facilities, and I even played him a nursery rhyme which I once listened to when I was kid.
"You listen to his 'London Bridge' and I will go and return in no time, ok sweetie." He obediently nodded again, "and make sure not to cry when I am away. You are strong, right?" I showed him the post of an Hulk in his Shirt to encourage him, "Roar I'm a Hulk! And you are my Mini Hulk? " I imitated the green guy and he giggled, following my lead, "roa!! Me Hak! Hak!"
While he was distracted by the show in front of him, I quickly informed the hostess and she asked the passangers if anyone lost any child of theirs.
After a while the mother of the kid came marching worried to find his child missing from her side when she had fallen asleep.
She apologised, "I am so sorry if he caused you any trouble!"
"Oh no! It was nothing, he was a great kid all along. He is in watching a video." She followed me in to get him, and Adi was already getting used to the place, even waved me his cute hands to call me.
"You been good, sweetie? Your brother is here." I picked him up in my arms again, he let out laughter as I spinned around kissing him.
The mother must have been watching us get along so well and she warmly smiled at us.
"Mommy! Stay! Gud Bother!" Aww. He wanted to stay with me.
"Oh no! We couldn't trouble him."
"It's ok!" I excitedly said, holding onto Adi, "I am more glad to have someone to talk to. Mam, you can move in here. It really feels spacious and lonely here without anyone, please?" I persisted, pleading.
She did seem reluctant to agree. In the end, she relented. With her husband, she moved in here while I stayed by Adi's side and talked about lot and lot of interesting things.
I introduced myself as Leah, but not the last name. I don't want there behaviour to change of just because of a family name.
He said, "I hav 2 cats! Backy an Whaty! They small, lovs me!" He showed me his two fingers and the young couple here was willing to show me their photos too. They were so adorable, like Adi. I smiled at the photo of the three of them together in the beach, playing in the sand, his first walk, his first word, 'cu- cut. I think he meant cat.
Such a happy family.
"An me luvs botha!" He hugged my arms.
The young couple were surprised how attached he already got to me.
I find this kid so..... I couldn't help saying, "love you too, sweetie!" I pecked his forehead and he blushed and turned to the window.
Haha. I can't believe this kid actually stole me heart.
After a while he feel asleep, his hand on mine.
"I am surprised he likes you," the father said as if he didn't expect this to happen, "he isn't usually a social butterfly with people, other than us."
"I never thought I would love kids." I honestly replied.
"May I ask why you are going to Winston?" The young mother asked.
There was no need to hide anything, so I said, "I changed my school. So for a year, I will be staying there for my final year and then return home."
"How about your family? Are you all here for some vacation?"
Both of them went silent for a moment. The father seems to be debating whether to say it or not.
"We had married eloping and now we are finally returning home after almost half a decade. We got settled, had everything under control and had our first child, but we wanted to show our very child to know all his family, have someone to call grandpa and grandma, or uncle and aunt." He said, leaving me speechless.
The mother giggled maybe imagining something funny, "we owe our friend for helping us out. I hope he is doing well without us."
"He would say 'run along, I aren't gonna miss you. Let those oldies crap themselves to their rotten mind set. They aren't worth it.' He may seem cold but he's a great friend of ours besides being out boss." He seem nice. I can make out they are really thankful to that guy.
"I know they will accept you two!" I said, "trust me, my guts says they will definitely come to love the kid and their heart will melt! Let me tell ya, I am saying this from my own experience." I said, and we all laughed. The atmosphere has suddenly lightened and lifted up the beaten up mood.
I don't know why but I get the feeling that they can get through everything if they have each other by their side. Is it the power of love?
Maybe I should find a date myself? But it's just a make believe. My eyes never left there moving care for each other.
It's warm scene. They were so much in love. But... nah. I love being self partnered for now.
I closed my eyes and wished may every one get to be like them. Give love a chance.
That sounds so romantic~
Though I got no idea how i starts or how it happens. I'm glad I'm starting to replace bad memories with good ones; no more Taylor and no more betrayal.
If he's no longer my friend, so be it.
