~Azaria~
I smiled and my cheeks started to feel hot at his praise. Did he really think I would be a good Luna? I don't know the first thing about pack life. What if I mess up? What if they don't like me? I sighed. It doesn't matter, I'm done waiting, I'm done hiding, I won't go down without a fight.
" What do you know about genies?" I asked him, and he shrugged.
" Not very much, I know there are very few left most in their homeland. Also, that they are very powerful. " I nodded.
"Those are true, and our mate bonds are different..." I watched his curiosity peek, and he was so cute when he was interested. "Our souls transcend different plans of existence, so when we...mate...your soul will too. That will also put a target on your back and the pack."
He shook his head "they won't find you here, the entire forest is enchanted to keep anyone who isn't in the greenwood pack out" I nodded and sighed.
" That may be true now, but they won't stop looking for me, he won't stop looking for me." He looked at me with concern.
" What happened? How did they get ahold of you? And who is he? " I look down.
"It happened during the start of the war, I was taken from my bed in the middle of the night and as they dragged me away all hell broke loose, my father tried to come for me but there were too many....I told him to go protect my mother and that I would be ok, I knew if they wanted me dead it would have happened the moment they got me in their hands. The rest of my memory is hazy the only clear memories I have are the ones after I was kidnapped. Whenever I try to focus on things that are fuzzy it is painful. So, I stopped trying a while back. I can remember people in my life from before but no details, for example I can remember my parents and that we were close, but I can't remember where we lived what our home was like what they did for work, I know they did something, I know I had a bedroom, but all the details to confirm it are just blocked." I sighed "He is Nathan, he is the one who tried to do experiments on me."
he looked confused "Tried?" he asked, and I nodded.
"I was very uncooperative" I smiled a little "and every time he tried to get blood samples or anything, they even tried to drug me and do tests while I was out, but they didn't know how to block my magic shield. To be honest, I don't think my shield is my doing, I think it's a spell or enchantment of some kind. When I use my magic even unintentionally, I feel the energy exchange, but when my force field comes up it feels separate from me." He cleared his throat.
"Maybe it was your parents? They may have suspected something bad happening and took precautions or it could be something they did for you as a child maybe?" I nodded to his words " I can't remember which is another issue, I think whatever this is I think it restricted my powers too, I can't explain it, but I feel something more inside me I just can't get to it."
He nodded and his brow creased as he asked, "So why now? why not escape years ago?"
I shrugged " I don't know what changed that day, but it felt different from the second I woke up. My magic was stronger that day, abnormally stronger. "My brow wrinkled thinking about it but my mate spoke up.
"Its possible something triggered whatever protection or blockage to begin to release" I nodded thinking that he was right or at the very least partially right " I could see if my magic responds to yours...." I blinked in shock.
"I thought you were a werewolf?" I said, confusion written on my face. He nodded.
"I am, my father is a wolf, my mother is a witch."
I nodded thinking about our first encounter in the woods, and when we ran how he literally seemed invisible. "Is that how you blend in like you did? In the forest before we got here?" He smirked and nodded.
"I can be invisible I didn't have it at full strength or else you wouldn't have been able to follow" I smiled " That's impressive, not many can do invisibility magic."
He nodded and chuckled "keep that between us please, not many know that I have this, and I like it that way" he smiled at me and winked, his confidence was hot, and my cheeks heated turning a shade of pink to give away my thoughts. I cleared my throat.
" We should try it, maybe you can at least tell me what this is I'm feeling."
he nodded " If I can't do it my mother can or she will know someone who can." My brow wrinkled again.
" Maybe we should get some help?"
He shook his head "Its better if we try alone, as your mate your magic shouldn't be able to hurt me if something bad happens."
I nodded " ok let's try it!" I said excitedly, hoping to maybe get some memories back too. We un-cuddled and turned to face each other and sat on the couch face to face. he looked into my eyes.
" I'm going to feel you with my magic, try not to block me when you feel it ok?" I nodded and stared back into his eyes, taking my hands and I put them into his and smiled "I like it when we touch" I blushed a little and his sweet chuckle sent butterflies to my stomach. At first, I didn't feel anything and just focused on his eyes and admired how cute his face was. The deep brown of his eyes I could get lost in, and then, I felt his magic. Tingly, warm, and that wonderful scent of vanilla with a hint of sandalwood. I could feel his energy flowing into me and I smiled while we looked into each other's eyes. I could feel his energy feeling for the core of my being, where all our magic comes from. His eyes begin to glow blue as he uses more magic, and I can feel him come to that barrier surrounding parts of who I am. He probs at the barrier he brows nearly touching in concentration. It feels like pressure but no pain... yet.
"I'm going to apply more pressure, tell me if it hurts, ok?" I nodded and waited for him " I feel more pressure on the barrier like its going to give way and he watches me carefully. I nod again.
" I'm ok, keep going" and I smiled " I feel him again pushing even harder, his face crumpling up with effort.
" I think I'm almost through if I just push a bit more...." a blinding white light filled the room " AZARIA!" was all I heard as all my senses were taken away and all I could hear was a voice repeating a phrase.
