Chapter 20 - Photocard

Lucy was actually surprised at how hard all of them worked. They had some basics in English and Japanese, but not enough for having a conversation.

She taught them an hour a day, changing languages every day. It was so confusing sometimes, so she wasn't surprised that four out of five did not understand.

"Should we do it like this then? Every day for forty-five minutes? Monday and Tuesday English, Wednesday and Thursday Japanese, and Friday Mandarin?" Lucy asked. All of them, but Sunjun, who appeared to have a talent for languages, raised their heads.

"I'm still not sure it will work… The tour is close, we need to learn a lot. A lot of English." Jaemin sighed and Lucy laughed.

"I know, but I can't still make you too confused. Especially when hanzi and kanji are so similar. I know how confused I was when learning those two at the same time." Lucy scratched her head, still figuring out how to structure their lessons.

"That's not so hard. We actually don't read that much, we need more speaking, and conversation. And it's nothing like tenses… What the heck are those things in English?" Hyunjun whined, as he was the one having the biggest problem.

"Mmm, we should finish today. I heard you have practice again after this, so let me think more about it, and tomorrow we will talk more at the beginning of the lesson, okay?" Lucy smiled at them, and they all nodded.

"I have one suggestion. I know you don't have much time on your hands, but can you watch English movies, and dramas with Korean subtitles? And listen to English songs with Korean lyrics? When you are in a car, or in a shower. Five minutes before going to bed. It will help you get accustomed to the language." Again, they all nodded. Even Hwa, which was so weird to Lucy. She almost forgot what type of annoying person he was.

"What about listening to one song, for starters? You can write to me, which song it was and I can prepare my lesson tomorrow around it-" Lucy stopped because she forgot she had no way of contacting them and they weren't normal students.

"Nevermind. You can tell me tomorrow which song you had listened to and we can work with it in the next lesson." Lucy smiled, as she didn't want to pressure them into giving out their contacts. She was just a stranger to them.

"Do you have Kakao? We can make a group chat and discuss things there," Jaemin suggested, taking out his phone. Lucy frowned.

"Are you sure? I don't want you to feel uncomfortable or something," she admitted, but took out her phone. Jaemin just smiled while scanning her code as she scanned his. Others pulled out their phones, too.

Lucy looked at them, confused because it only needed one to add her. She didn't need to add everyone. And it would be better for them not to add her, as her phone could be stolen or something.

"Do you plan to sell us out?" Hwa asked, chuckling. Lucy frowned at him, bewildered.

"Of course, I don't plan to. I just… what if my phone gets stolen?" Lucy asked, seriously and honestly. But Kangmin chuckled.

"Do you have a password on? Is it easy to guess? If it's hard, we have no fear. They would have to reformat it before using it," he shrugged after explaining it simply. Lucy scratched her head, ashamed, while grinning. How could she forget about that? Hwa just shook his head.

"My password is coded. It's the Korean spelling of Gochu on a twelve-key keyboard. But I have the same PIN on my laptop," she said, not realizing she had just told them her password. One person was especially happy about that.

"How come you are so stupid in some things?" he asked, while Jaemin slapped him over his shoulder. Lucy rolled her eyes so far back she could see the inside of her skull. And then decided to ignore him.

"Your bias is Hwa? I thought it would be someone cute like me…" Kangmin asked, making a cute pose, by poking his cheek and winking. Lucy looked at him, confused.

"What do you mean by that? I have no bias in your group." Lucy was really confused when they pointed at the back of her phone. She turned around while seeing snickering Hwa. She knew it was his doing.

And there he was. At the back of her phone, giving her a kiss from a photocard. That was even signed. With inscription!

"Kim Seonghwa! Give me back my limited edition Haku!" she shouted out, not caring anymore, but Hwa only shrugged.

"You gotta beg for it," he said, and leaned back in his chair. Lucy was determined never to beg. But now, she was ready to fight him. He took her Haku, which was like a declaration of war.

A company staff opened the door, reminding them of their training and that they needed to go. They collectively stood up, chuckling. But Hwa was full-on amused by her reaction.

"If you don't give it back, you will regret taking it," she said menacingly. Other members looked at her a bit frightened, as they just gave her their contacts, but Hwa laughed.

"On, come on. I'm much better than him. We even have better songs than he does," he said and walked away from the classroom.

Lucy angrily took out the photocard and stared at it. She had an immense, murderous feeling. Lucy almost went bankrupt getting Haku's photocard, and it was gone just like that? Changed for a guy she openly hated?

She put it back and, pissed, cleaned up her things. Now, she was even more determined to never let him win this stupid bet. Even if it would kill her, Hwa would never win.

On her way back, she passed the training room. Only three members were there, but she had to admit. They were working really hard. She could admire them, maybe even stan them if they didn't have such an asshole among them.

Lucy remembered the photocard and her blood pressure rose again, plotting an act of revenge in her head. She should start slowly and simply simmer him alive.
