All the members were too busy to have classes with Lucy that day. Hwa had a song collaboration, Hyunjun and Jaemin were busy acting in a drama, Kangmin was rehearsing for a musical, and only Sunjun was left to teach.
They just ended the English lesson, and he was still sitting in the room, which was something like a temporary classroom, with white board and tables.
"Do you need something?" Lucy asked because it was highly unusual for them to have time for anything lately, let alone stay with her and just talk to her.
"I just wanna talk. I have some time." Lucy stopped mid-move and with eyes wide open she looked at him. But then she laughed and sat down.
"What do you want to talk about?" she asked, confused about whether it was something serious or not. Sunjun gracefully placed his hands under his chin and stared at her.
"You are different from I thought you would be," he said after a while of the staring contest they had.
"Likewise." Lucy remembered when, like a month ago, he wasn't even able to look her properly in her face, just because he was shy.
"No, I mean it. You are so fierce with Seonghwa. You behaved so differently from him when I first met you so I was a bit scared of you. You were just like the mean staff we had as trainees." Lucy winced hearing that, she wasn't exactly glad being compared to someone mean. Especially when she heard some rumors about the kpop industry.
"Hehe, and did he tell you what he did to me first? Why was I so nasty to him?" she asked, but Sunjun shook his head. Lucy chuckled.
"Do you want to hear it?" she asked, unsure, but Sunjun nodded. It was weird to talk to him like this and Lucy wasn't so confident in the fluency of her tale-telling skills in Korean.
"What about me, telling you slowly in English? If you don't know any word or phrase, you will ask me. This way, if someone comes in, we are practicing…" Sunjun nodded and laughed.
"Smart," he said in English. Lucy showed him a thumbs up and was surprised at his improved pronunciation. He really was good at everything.
Lucy then proceeded to explain what happened between them and why they had such a strong reaction to each other. She made Sunjun frown three times and laugh twice.
"That's why Kangmin said the prank war started?" he asked suddenly in Korean again. Lucy winced, shifting her brain again, taking a while before nodding and then shaking her head.
"I wouldn't call it a war. We just… I will avenge my photocard." Sunjun laughed again, but then his face darkened when he smirked.
"Want to continue?" he asked. Lucy was surprised to find that everyone was hopping on her wagon, not being on Hwa's side. What had he done to them?
"Were his pranks so bad that you are all ready to help?" Sunjun nodded and laughed.
"When I was really exhausted once when I was a trainee, he carried me out of my bed and let me sleep on the ground in the training room. I got into problems because of that." Lucy bit her lips, trying to not laugh. She had to say it had to be funny for others, but not Sunjun. She was playing with her bracelet, thinking, when Sunjun noticed that and smirked.
"Is that somehow valuable?" he asked, pointing at the bracelet. Lucy squinted her eyes.
"It depends. It is a friendship bracelet my friend made for me. So emotionally it is valuable, but it wouldn't cost that much." But out of nowhere, just by his expression, Lucy knew what he meant by it. She wore it on her hand all the time. Everyone noticed it.
"You want to send it only to him or on SNS?" she asked, moving the adjustable part and taking it off.
Sunjun took it in his hand and tried to put it on, but Lucy had to help him.
"Can I post it on sns? I really like this style of handmade, braided bracelets." Lucy thought for a bit. There was no way that others or the people who knew her could associate it with her, and even then she could say it was a different one.
"You can. And I can say to my friend to make you a custom one. She makes jewelry." Sunjun looked interested and nodded, loving the idea of it. He took a selfie showing his wrist and, together with the caption, he sent it to their manager, who said it was okay to post it.
"Do you have more waiting for him?" Sunjun asked, playing with the bracelet.
"Just don't lose it before yours will come. And yes, I have a few more pranks in line. I'm just waiting whether he will strike back or give me back my photocard." Lucy said, a bit nervous. Sunjun nodded, assuring her he would take care of it. And that was it. That was how they ended their talk.
Lucy went back to her small two-room apartment and wrote to Lili asking about another bracelet. She actually asked if she had time to make more of them. Lili agreed and just said Lucy should tell her later about the style and everything because she was still in Hong Kong and she would have to buy things for them.
Opening her email, Lucy noticed new documents she had to translate. It was for a lawyer company from Czech to Mandarin and that made Lucy totally devastated. She was in Korea for such a long time now her brain permanently stopped thinking about other languages.
She rubbed her eyes and started working on it. It had an urgent label on it, and that made her eye twitch. It meant less sleep for her than she even had now. But looking at the list she had beside her laptop, she actually grinned.
The war between her and Seonghwa made her actually relax. It was fun when everyone is respectful and doesn't hurt others. And it was pretty neat and not executive, just everyone having fun.
With thoughts about her next step, Lucy kept smiling while translating and it was almost seven in the morning when she went to sleep, making her exhausted and dead. At least she had four hours to sleep before her first lesson that day, with no other than Seonghwa.
