On the creative canvas of her mind, she could imagine the hilly areas, the chillness of its temperature, forcing mittens on. Then lifting the canvas paper, the scene of white snow collapsing from the high peaks and the Chinese noodles enjoyed near the cold valley could be visible.
She could gulp the saliva pondering over the taste of the snow she would receive while skiing along with it, letting the snow bounce off her face along the way.
Going in-depth thinking about hilly areas made her whole body get sensations of temporary coolness and eliminated the trapped heat that had agitated her body the whole day. Imagining about it for a while made her heart start pumping faster, making her come out of her emotions all of a sudden.
It seemed like she had limited patience before travelling. Anxiety had already done its work, making her cease her thoughts. She couldn't wait further for her trip, it was making her curious to know how the outside world works.
While Sophia was pondering over the mountain scenes during the moving car, one of her cousins nudged her shoulder.
" Sophia, are you again lost? I fear that you will lose your imagination throughout the entire trip. Yes, you can overthink during the journey. There is an exception." said Diana in a sarcastic tone.
Sophia, having come out of the imagination, noticed that they were standing in front of a big store. The store had a large board named " Casual wears" with the logo of a pretty girl beside it. Its front and the door were made of glass, giving an aesthetic look with statues placed to exhibit the beauty of its body wear.
The three of them went inside the store. The inside of the store made Sophia startled. It was lighted by bright lights, making the apparel shine. The floor was painted orange. The clothes were properly arranged on hangers in several sections, leaving a gap between each slot.
As Sophia continued to walk slowly, with vacant gazes, she bumped into a lady, bearing three boxes, making both of them plunge to the ground, boxes falling over each other. " Oh, I am sorry miss. I didn't do it on purpose." Sophia got frightened.
She stood up and lent a hand to the fallen lady. When she slowly raised herself, Sophia noticed that she was a store attendant. she was wearing a dark blue t-shirt and a white skirt. The t-shirt bore the name Rose Marilyn on it. She had an oval white face, charming jade orbs and shining golden hairs, tied in a bun. She was three inches taller than Sophia.
Sophia noticed that her t-shirt was wrinkled. Rose noticed it too, so she began to pat her shirt, removing the wrinkles that had built up. She continued to look into Sophia's eyes. Sophia drew back and went on to a section to select clothes for herself.
As Sophia was selecting the clothes, Rose continued to look at her with suspicion. She continued to scratch her left cheek with her index finger, her eyes fixed on nothing but only Sophia. Even while attending to the visitors, she would turn her face towards Sophia, at a distance of twenty steps, at least once every five minutes.
When Sophia was out of her sight, Rose continued to roam her eyes in several directions, looking up for her. Then moving over to her assistant, James, Rose said," James, attend to the new customers. I am helping out the previous ones." saying so she hastily paced towards a random section.
As she moved to the other section, she noticed Sophia's matching top on her body in the mirror. Rose approached her and said," Let me help you out, Sophia." she continued to look into Sophia's eyes as she grabbed the top.
" How do you know my name, Miss?" Sophia creased her brows.
Her question pinched Rose Marilyn. Then moving her pupils up and down, she calmly answered," Dear, you only told me, a few minutes ago, you forgot so quickly."
Placing her fingers below her chin, Sophia kept thinking for a while. " Maybe you are telling the truth. I am so forgetful." Saying so Sophia smirked.
As Rose was about to utter a word, Stella called Sophia's name. " Sophia, are you done selecting your clothes? we are leaving now?" Sophia turned her attention to Stella and then to Rose. " Can you pack these jeans and top, and this jacket, please." Handling those apparel to Rose, Sophia sprinted towards her cousin.
Rose packed them up on the cash counter. When they had paid for the clothes, they lifted their bags and turned towards the door. Sophia grinned, gazing at the orange package, containing her clothes.
As Rose bid them goodbye, She continued to look at Sophia desperately. Rose's expression turned dismal when suddenly James shoved Rose's shoulder gently." What happened, Rose?" James looked at her, fixing his spectacle. Rose rubbed her face to look at her assistant and smiled" Nothing, just some pollens got caught in my eye. I was removing them."
In the car, Sophia kept thinking about Rose Marilyn. She glared at Sophia as if she knew her. " Maybe, she serves her customers like this every day." Immediately Sophia switched her thoughts.
Then reaching the house, Sophia walked over to the kitchen, opened the door of the refrigerator ajar and hastily picked out a bisleri bottle. She kept striding in her room to the left and right in continuous motion, taking in heavy gulps of water as she walked. It helped to lessen the effect of her beating heart and unloaded the anxiety that had grounded in her frail body.
"What should I keep extra for tomorrow, is also a tension-provoking matter for me." laughed Sophia. She began searching in her clothes, for a perfect dress to match her complexion. She unlocked her Almira and pulling out all her clothes, laid them on the bed. Then she examined them critically, not appreciating any of the pieces. The sweats started showing up on her flushed face. Then she picked out apparel hastily from the bundle, matching it to her body, through the shady mirror.
" Why am I so sensitive, so frail that I easily get worried over the pettiest matters. what's wrong with me?" mocked Sophia to herself and displayed a silly expression.
Then slowly, she pushed the door of her room making it slide towards the rectangular space and shut completely. After changing her apparel, she began to flutter inside the small space of her room, playing hop music in her mind. As she danced all over the room, her foot movements could be heard outside. They were too hard that they produced a pouring sound on the floor where her feet passed.
The noise was audible till the drawing room. Her Aunt stood up and walked slowly to her room, knocking it gently. This made Sophia come out of her imagination and rush toward her room door and unlock it.
Her Aunt stood there with crossed arms and folded eyebrows, and asked patiently," Sophia, may I know what kind of noises were you producing?" Sophia started shifting her eyes in a rectangular pattern, rubbing her fingers against each other and titled her face downwards.
Then, she answered with a slightly open mouth," Aunt I was just trying on my clothes for tomorrow and was so excited about the trip that it made my feet dance on their own." saying so Sophia flushed harder.
" It's okay, dear, but tomorrow you have to leave earlier. The taxi will be here sharp at 6 am. So, better sleep now than be in a rush the next day." saying so, she gently left the room.
