Chapter 30 - With nothing

"Hello I'm Greg Blackwell" Greg instantly responded. The silhouette put its' hand out as if telling him to ask what's on his mind.

"Okay then, Why am I here?" Greg asked since this creature was apart of this world from what he could tell.

"You know that one." The silhouette said as it tapped its' hand down on the table. After hearing that sound a rush of memories came flooding back to Greg from the battle with the Titan commander to the death of his companions.

Then he became puzzled his companions they were sitting right here. He turned to look at them only to find they were gone. Sadness rapidly filled his mind but it was quickly replace by calmness.

"I came here for sanctuary from the incoming attack. But where am I?" Greg asked as he looked around at this pitch black world. The only light was above the three of them.

"this is the dark world boundary." The silhouette said in a monotone voice. "It's the edge of the abyss which you have fallen very close to."

"What are you and why are you here?" Greg asked out of curiosity.

"I'm here because I reach out to those close to the abyss." The darkness around them suddenly became like a whirlpool of even darker tendrils, which crept closer to Greg. The silhouette seemed to have formed eyes which harbored such killing intent, it made Greg feel as if he was a mouse sitting in a den of dragons.

"If you really want the answer then it'd be faster to kill you. However I can tell your not ready to die" The silhouette closed it's eyes and the killing intent along with the whirlpool and tendrils vanished.

"So I'll ask my last question. How do I get out of here?" Greg felt he should leave after feeling that pressure.

"As much as I would love for you to stay, you have more important business. you will wake up and you will find the exit you seek however it might not bring you to the place you hoped." Suddenly the light above them grew dimmer. However before everything was completely black, the voice said one last thing.

"IT WOULD BE WISE TO REMEMBER THIS FOR NEXT TIME. THE ABYSS PULLS ALL INTO IT EVENTUALLY."

Suddenly Greg saw a glowing red crack appear before him. He touched it and was pulled through to the other side.

------

The teacher was sitting on the outskirts of the forest, looking at the damage around the dome. She could see a variety of titan beasts repairing the dome and removing the rubble. She also saw a large fiery crack next to a mountain and a mountain of a titan.

It had three other smaller titan standing next to it watching the portal. She waited a few hours monitoring and taking mental notes about the situation.

One of the things she noticed were monster occasionally coming out of the crack, which the titans were quick to kill. However these monsters were pretty strong causing some deaths among the guarding titan beasts, but they were quickly replaced and their bodies were moved.

'What the hell is that crack?' She thought to herself.

This was enough observing she decided to make her move.

She disappeared in the shadow world only to realize there are other glowing red cracks in the shadow world. 'Just what has my student done?'

These cracks made her rethink her plan and instead she created an opening right next to the commander's ear but inside of his peripheral vision.

"Hello titan commander Lord Belgrim. I am known as the dark witch." She said from inside the dark world.

This immediately angered Lord Belgrim making him yell out. "So you were the one who send this dragon-kin to kill my people and cause so much trouble."

"yes it was my pupil who did this but I had no intention of attacking your territory. This was unknown to me until I arrived." She tried to explain.

"Why should I believe the words of a wretched witch." Lord Belgrim said with contempt.

"You don't have to believe me you just have to explain what has happened here." She said without giving this commander any face.

"I assumed he would have run back to his owner after escaping."

"If that was the case I wouldn't waste my time asking these questions." The teacher said growing more annoyed by the second.

Hearing this and remembering the tenacity of the dragon-kin Lord Belgrim decided to explain what had occurred. Hearing this story brought mixed feeling to the teacher.

'He wouldn't have run, knowing we have his mother and It doesn't sound like he died so is he stuck in the dark world?' She thought of this then another terrifying thought crossed her mind.

'COULD HE HAVE FELL INTO THE ABYSS!'

A series of questions filled her head. However she had to find this precious resource.

"I apologize on my pupil's behalf and be warned if my pupil is dead due to your actions then you will have to face my wraith!" The teacher closed the portal with that warning and headed toward the edge of the abyss.

She reached it after some time and when she did a dozen of pitch-black tendrils approached her.

"I wish to speak to nothing!" the teacher said with a distorted voice.

Suddenly the tendrils warped together to form a large orb of squirming darkness.

"Why do you ask to speak to me with such disrespect and urgency in your voice, little girl?" the voice such in a deep booming tone which emanated death.

"My apologies, my supreme being this humble girl merely wished to find a boy who possibly passed into your domain." The teacher said as she gave a deep bow to the voice.

She then lifted her hands forward holding a necklace with a glass ball that held thousands of souls within it. "I offer this to you in hopes of answering my wish."

There was no sound for a few seconds then black tendrils reached out and wrapped around the necklace pulling it back into the orb.

"I accept your offering and I will answer your question." The voice said lessening the presence of death. "The boy you seek resisted the temptation with the help of... forget it. I allowed him safe exit to the land of the demons."

"Thank you, my supreme being. This humble girl wishes to depart." The teacher said still bowing with her hands forward.

"So be it. However before you leave I give the boy this sword. Make absolute certain it gets to him or I'll drag you into the depths of the abyss to suffer for ten thousand years. Now depart, I will create an entrance in his area." With that warning , the orb dispersed and a glowing red crack was left in its place.
