Greg slowly opened his eyes to only to see darkness.
'I guess I died in the end... HA HA HA! At least I can see my father again and hopefully Quill and claw too...'
"Sorry to disappoint you, but your not dead." Gareth said then folded his wing to reveal the cold stone ceiling.
Greg let out a chuckle realizing all the pain was gone so he assumed he kicked the bucket, then another realization hit him. He sat up and looked around in a hurry.
"The person where are they!?" He asked after not being able to see him.
"He headed towards the entrance earlier, I didn't bother to ask where he was going. He did kindly leave our food." Gareth said then pointed a claw towards the opposite wall.
Greg looked at the corpse and felt an immense hunger overtake him. He rushed over and was about to start eating until he realized everything that happened.
Greg turned to look at the dragon that had protected him, taught him and saved him with a solemn smile and tears rolling down his eyes he said. "Thank you, Gareth."
Gareth widened his eyes out of surprise then he thought deeply for a moment and spoke. "I appreciate your gratitude young master of darkness. Your fated to me so I will be your guardian until I perish. Now eat!"
Greg nodded with a smile then turned toward the corpse ripping it in half before chowing down. The taste was nauseating and the texture was like chewing through rough leather but he continued to eat the corpse.
Bite after bite until he felt full again. He offered some to Gareth multiple times but he refused multiple times.
By the time he was the mysterious person arrived carrying two large six legged deer-like beast. they wore a large furry beast cloak which covered their whole body. The beasts had large sharp antlers which blood on the tips and hooves with talons on the back.
They threw one to Gareth and one down in front of the fire. Gareth didn't seem surprised that they did this in the slightest but Greg was surprised and grew curious.
'Did they make an agreement with you?' Greg thought.
"Yes he said he would bring me food in exchange for a conversation with you, which I accepted." Gareth said out loud in respond to his thoughts. This cued the cloaked person to start talking.
"Hello young dark lord, Gareth told me about who you are. I wish to watch over you while you are in this realm." The person said in a low tone barely audible.
Greg heard her however but was confused. "Why do you want to watch over me when I don't even know who you are?"
The person perked up realizing he wasn't saying no. "I'm the demon eater, Morgania of human tribe. Our tribe was one to serve the previous demon of the abyss, Gareth." She said while taking off the hood of her cloak.
Greg was caught off guard by her appearance.
she had olive skin with black markings on her forehead in the shape of an X with a circle in its center and a circle at the end of each line.
She also had two lines under her pitch black eyes with white pupils. one of her irises was shaped the same as the mark on her forehead.
Her hair was white with crimson red tips like a growing flame!
He hadn't seen many women in his life and all the ones he's encountered had black hair similar to his, So this type of intricate hair was new to him and quite pretty.
"What's a demon eater?" Greg inquired since this was the first time he heard of something like that.
'Didn't I just eat a demon, does that make me a demon eater?' He questioned since the name sounded obvious.
Morgania was taken aback since she thought knowledge of demon eaters was common especially to their tribe's lord.
Before she could explain Gareth started explaining.
"It's a title given to a human who's undergone demonic possession and ended up absorbing the demon's soul instead of fusing with it." He summarized.
"That was perfectly worded, Great lord" She praised.
"I'm confused what's the difference between absorbing and fusing with a demon." Greg asked growing more curious and in awe of her.
"I can explain in your stead, Great lord." Morgania chimed in wanting to show off her knowledge.
"I can explain just fine, Dog." Gareth said getting a nod from her in response then he continued.
"Demon possession can end in three ways. First is the demon destroying or consuming the other creature's soul and gaining access to it's abilities while increasing the bodies strength greatly but stopping further growth in strength.
Or its called basic possession.
The second is what she is, by beating the invading demonic soul it is absorbed into the body creating a second core, a demonic core. This gives a person great strength and increased potential to continue to grow.
This is called Demon eating.
The last one is when the creature and demon harmonize increasing the strength of both demon and creature and allowing it to shift between each state.
This however splits the creatures mind often causing madness or high deviation from the originally personality. Both have their growth potential greatly increased as well.
This is called fusion."
"The last one sounds like what my ability does but different too." Greg said hoping Gareth could explain it.
"It is very similar but its not the same. Your class allows you to create a contract with the creatures that you summon allowing them to use mana from your core and obtain your element in exchange you can fuse and unfuse freely which isn't possible with regular fusion."
Greg was about to ask something else but Gareth interrupted him. "I'm tired of explaining so let's go, Dog you said earlier you would take up to your tribe to meet a powerful demon eater to preform a demonic ritual for the boy."
"Yes, we can head off right away, great lord!" her face brightened up as she said this.
"no need let me eat first, I also need to teach the boy something new. Then I'll have you teach combat, dog." Gareth then began quickly began biting into the corpse before they could say anything more.
