Greg tightened his grip on the bones.
He stared at the demon ogre Goram Gullag who had many scars across it's face and body. Goram grabbed a two bone axe off his back. They had large bones for handles fused into black-stone, creating white veins throughout the stone. He wore an armored skirt and crude leather boots. His legs and arms were as think as oak tree trunk.
With nothing left to say they both rushed forward Greg running towards the ogre's left flank and his shadow clone running to the right. They thrust their bone spikes towards the ogre's lung but he slammed his axe's down on the bones cutting through Greg's like butter.
Because of the shadow nature of the clone when Greg's weapon broke so did the shadow's. His axes slammed down into the ground causing cracks to form.
Greg used the other bone to swing for the head while his shadow aimed for the leg.
Goram quickly changed his grip on the axe and easily pulled it out from the ground while swinging it upwards to the left aiming to severe Greg's arm. He kept the other axe in the ground preferring to focus his strength and speed more.
Greg's attack connected along with the shadow's, which was enough to cause the ogre to stumble but his axe managed to carve a deep wound into Greg's arm.
He roared out in pain, it was felt like scorching fire where the wound was but a numb feeling took over the rest of the arm. Goram slightly dazed looked over to see that he didn't manage to severe the arm, however the slash that touched bone was enough!
A series of cracks that sounding like a branch shattering was heard.
"AHHH!" Greg roared out causing the forest to shiver and stunned the already dazed Goram. It felt like agony, the bones from his shoulder to finger tips all shattered at once.
"CHANNEL DARK ENERGY INTO YOUR ARM QUICKLY!" Gareth shouted telepathically and without thought Greg did as he said.
He started to feel relief but it was hard for him to focus with the immense pain still ringing in his mind this caused the healing process to go slower.
During that time Gareth focused the mind into the shadow clone. The ogre Goram quickly got up after breaking free from his daze. He started to rush towards Greg who was still healing but he was slammed into by the shadow clone before he could reach him.
Gareth in the shadow clone stood between Goram and Greg. Usually shadows couldn't feel pain but because Gareth's mind was in it he could feel the pain Greg was going through from the shadow as well as the pain from their own body.
Gareth with millenniums of combat experience quickly ignored the pain and rushed towards the ogre.
As he got into striking distance he raised his bone club to attack. Goram reacted by using his axe to block and the other to slash towards Gareth's body.
However Gareth's attack was a feint. He opened his open and stopped his swing midway instead releasing a black breath attack.
Goram saw this but it was too late... to block and he was hit dead center on his chest!
Goram stopped his attack and backed up while putting his axes in between him and the origin of the attack, yet the damage was already done. His front torso was burned black and his muscles were exposed and being eaten away.
This caused agonizing pain throughout the ogre's body but before he had time to react a bone club crashed down on his head.
Gareth wasn't done there with swing after swing he battered the ogre's head until Goram fell to he knees and with one final swing with all his might he caused Goram's head to burst open like a pinata!
Meanwhile, Greg was slowly healing his shattered bones and as the pieces were reconnecting he felt all the memories of his previous injuries flowing into his mind. By the time Gareth was finish he was half way done healing his arm.
Gareth joined rejoined his mind and started to instruct him. "You have to focus on the damaged parts instead of just letting your energy run through your arm, otherwise your just wasting our energy."
Greg did as he said and focus on pulling the bone fragments back into place and healing them. This sped up the process by 50% and soon enough he was fully healed but his energy had taken a massive hit.
However it wasn't time to rest he could hear more demons on the way. His energy was already low and his mind was a mess between exhaustion, sadness, fear, anger, and regret. He left in the opposite direction.
------
After an hour of searching and fighting lesser demons, he finally saw a promising mountain which was on the edge of the creepy forest and barren mountainous area.
He walked around the mountain until found a cave that seemed reasonably safe... Well at least with no monsters nearby.
He rushed inside with a mangled torso of a hairless wolf-like demon. He walked deeper and deeper into the and went lower and lower until he found another entrance or exit for him.
What he saw made the feeling of helplessness and fear sink even further into his mind.
In front of him was a vast land filled with monsters big and small, some flew while some walked. He saw things that resembled dragons, demented whales, and flocks of twisted bird-like creatures soaring through the air.
On the ground below were even more creatures big and small, many were fighting, few were laying calmly.
although he should've been underground he was in awe at the vast sky. A glow from the lava that seemed to sunder the scorched land and fire below dyed the world with a crimson color. various sized Islands hung in the sky, some with lava rushing endlessly from them.
Red crystals also floated above tall mountains with insect like creature going in and out of them.
His throat burned breathing in the air, it caused him to cough hysterically. He walked back into the cave until his throat stopped burning. In front of him was what looked like a man crouched over a dim fire, he looked up to see Greg standing there.
Greg was still fused which strained his almost empty mana which was only preserved by the cores of the creatures he managed to kill on the way.
The thing watched as Greg approached and stood on the edge of the light produced by the fire.
Greg threw the corpse forward and with rasped words. "Please... don't kill... me."
Then Greg collapsed unfusing with Gareth as he did.
