"Anyway, I don't care what you do with him, but if he's dead when I come back, I will burn Incayon from the inside out. Also, that woman there is my mother. It's a pity she has such a mate and a child, but hey, we can't choose our family, now, can we?
"If any of you so much as look at my mother in the wrong way, I will boil your eyes for the crows to feed on. Nobody touches my parents, they are mine to kill, so don't you dare take that away from me.
"You guys are dismissed. Take your pathetic forms out of my sight," Rania said and the whole pack visibly let out a sigh of relief. It was crazy how they believed she would humiliate her mother in front of so many people.
If it was her father, then Rania would do it without a second thought. Her mother was her angel and she would never hurt her, not like that.
Rania's threat was beautiful, if it could even be considered a threat. The wolves of course had cowered in fear because they never thought that it was possible for Rania to get any scarier. But then each day, she kept proving them wrong.
Only Rania could say her parents were hers to kill. While people had normal children who loved, protected, and wished them a good life, the alphas had Rania and she was not even done yet.
'They're mine to kill,' Rania had said and alpha Kim kept replaying it in his head. He wasn't sure if he needed to be happy about how shit had turned out, or he needed to be worried.
Alpha Kim looked at his daughter, disbelief written all over his face, but Rania didn't give a shit about it anymore. This man never once cared for her. She could tell that he was planning something, but was skeptical because Rania was crazy.
Her father had tried to use her mother and she had shown him that two could play the long game.
"You try that again, I won't care if she's my mother or not, I will gladly make you suffer," Rania had said to her father, before she roughly brushed their shoulders and she headed to her office, her beta following closely from behind.
Rania's mother didn't even worry about the two. She knew they would always be at each other's throats, except for when there was an enemy attack in Incayon. But until then, they would be acting like the worst of enemies when in fact they were related by blood.
It was a pity really, but it wasn't like the two parties cared one bit about it.
"What is the goddess's name was that, Kim Rania? Have you finally gone crazy? Wait, hold up," Dalrae said angrily as she checked her friend for signs of mental deterioration. There had to be a hint somewhere so they could get her treated and fast.
"Dal—"
"No, young lady. You listen to me. You let your father win today you little woman. You gave him a confirmation that he is your weakness, Rania. Do you know how dangerous that is? And your mother? Goodness Rania!"
Dalrae was frustrated with her best friend. It seemed like the longer they would be in Incayon, the crazier she got. Maybe there was a way to ensure both father and daughter were sane for each other, but was there?
They had made it clear they hated each other so much and how they couldn't stomach whatever the other did. And yet even then, they were still here in In canyon, protecting their pack. What kind of hell loop was this?
"You heard him, Dalrae. He said he wanted me to mate with that stupid-ass mateless idiot from Calindra. Can you imagine that? He just sat there, giving me orders when he was the root of my problems. If that Calindra bastard was here, I could have set him on fire today!"
Rania kept ranting, but she stopped when she realized Dalrae was assessing her office. It was almost like Dalrae was certain there was something in this office, but then she shared the office with Rania, so whatever it was, they both could have known, right?
"I know I shouldn't, but may I ask what you're looking for, Dalrae?" Rania asked amusedly. Her friend was hopping over tables, checking the ceiling for cracks. She was trying to find something but it seemed to be gone for the moment.
"Where is it?" Dalrae asked, as she sat on Rania's table, staring at her best friend dead in the eye like she was waiting for Rania to come up with a weird lie to get out of this.
"Where is what?"
"The substance you've been using. I have confirmed there's no spell in this room, so where is the meth or coke? Or wait, you're using weed cookies? Give me some, love," Dalrae said and Rania facepalmed. Her best friend was worse than her, it seemed.
"Y'know there is none, Dalrae," Rania said, but her friend wasn't convinced. Instead, Dalrae sniffed her, like she wanted to know more. But then, she and Rania had always been in the same space, save for when they had different duties.
This just didn't make any sense to her.
Whatever it was, Rania needed to learn to share.
"Come now love, share with me too, so that when you go all bonkers like today, I can also join you. Y'know like sisters," Dalrae insisted and Rania knew there was no hope for this one.
She was loving the whole aspect of her friend being crazy, but Dalrae was driving her nuts today.
"What if he already set up the meeting? Pa never tells me things if he's not sure. What if he's trying to force me to mate Jihoon because of an alliance? What if our pack is facing external attacks and he wants me to be at the forefront?
"What if there is a reason behind this?" Rania rambled along, worried about her well benign and that of her people. Instead of helping Rania worry, Dalrae looked at her friend, like she had seriously gone crazy. What the fuck was this woman even on?
"Quick question, Rania," Dalrae said to her friend who just nodded, despair written all over her face.
She was an overthinker and that seriously didn't help her case. She needed someone to pull her from her lost world and who better to do that than her beta, right?
"Aren't you the alpha of the pack?" Dalrae asked Rania who just rolled her eyes at her best friend. Whatever this reminder was about, Dalrae had to be thinking it would get the queen of crazies in line.
"I am."
"Aren't you always aware of everything that goes on within and beyond the pack borders?"
"Of course, I'm aware of everything."
"Then why the fuck are you worried about your father and Jihoon? Those two have been plotting against your happiness since your first rejection, love. They have been acting as if they get paid to see you suffer.
"Whatever is coming, is not what anyone could expect anyway. Besides, you already made it clear to the whole kingdom that you're not looking for a mate. Nothing will ruin that, okay?" Dalrae said to Rania who seemed to snap out of her trance.
"You're right, I'm the reigning alpha. The worst he can do is try to eliminate me, but it's not like he can succeed anyway," Rania said happily.
For someone who had been depressed a few seconds ago, she looked excited, and finally happy that things would go her way, but everything went sideways when the announcement for the camp came.
"Alpha, there's a messenger at the door, do I let him in?" One of the warriors asked Rania. They knew she hated visitors because there was a chance they were from her father and she didn't have the time to play games with papa dearest.
"Let him in, but be close by. If I need you, I'll call you," Rania said.
"Yes alpha."
"Alpha Rania, you have a message from king Seojoon," the messenger said, as he walked into Rania's office, making the two women in there stay calm to hear what the messenger had come to deliver to them.
