"I'm Kim Rania, I remain undefeated," Rania mumbled to herself as she walked deeper into the forest.
This was one of the dangerous places in the Incayon pack and while she was an alpha wolf, Rania knew better than to walk headfirst into danger. She had trained herself better than that.
Walking away from Dalrae made her feel sad, more than walking away from Incayon could trigger her. Dalrae had been her family for years, and Rania wouldn't know what to do without her.
"I'll come back for you, Dalrae. One day, my dear friend," Rania said when she was sure she was away from Incayon. She had walked the forest and was now in a clearing that separated Incayon from the other packs.
She wasn't sure what the king really wanted her and Jihoon to do, but she knew it had to be very dangerous, for the king to want the elite alphas.
"Couldn't the stupid man just wait till the alpha camp for him to send us out like this?" Rania whined to herself. Anyone who would meet her at this point would be certain that Kim Rania was crazy.
Of course, she wouldn't even try defending herself, but still, that wasn't how shit was supposed to get. Rania loved danger, but this time, she was worried, and it wasn't because she was going with Jihoon, no.
She was worried because, for the first time in forever, Rania had this unsettling feeling that she would probably never get to see her Dalrae again.
That would definitely be a cruel reality, but maybe she was just trying to create a balance between her life and the shit that was already going on but fuck, what was she supposed to do?
"Focus, Rania. Focus," the alpha-girl spoke out once again, and it seemed like she was finally losing it. Maybe she was, but maybe she wasn't. However, her line of thoughts and rambling was cut short, by an overly annoying creature.
"If you want to talk, talk like a normal person, instead of mumbling shit to yourself. And before you whine about whatever the fuck you are on about, keep in mind that this is a free zone. This is a place everyone can access.
"Please keep your voice low," the voice said, making Rania stop in her tracks. She looked at the man, clearly in his twenties, who had the audacity to talk down at her.
She contemplated putting an end to him, besides, if she killed him here, no one would come after him, besides they were in the free territory. The unclaimed lands that the king had decided would remain neutral.
"Park Jihoon. I wish I could say it was nice meeting you here, but honestly, it's not. So why in seven fucking hells are you here? Last I checked, Calindra is in the opposite direction, yeah?" Rania asked angrily, her animosity for Jihoon growing over time.
She was here with him, and alone, and she could do anything to him, and yet for some reason she couldn't. Maybe it was because the king was expecting them both and she didn't have the time to explain to the dumbass king why his chosen alpha didn't show.
"Oh, come now, Rania. We both know I am not here for you. I would never, if that makes it better for you. Or wait, you're so used to rejections that you're scared I'll tell you I like you and reject you, yeah?" Jihoon said, his voice full of scorn, as he got up from where he had been sitting.
He had his blade in his hands, a weapon Rania had noticed, never left his side wherever he went.
'At least this tard wit has a signature,' Rania thought to herself as Jihoon walked close to her, the anger and hatred swelling in his eyes for Rania.
He had never forgiven Kim Rania for killing his mate, and he wasn't going to pretend they were on good terms right now. Rania just stood in her spot, unfazed by the gestures that Jihoon was showing.
Anyone in her state would have been scared shitless of the eyes Jihoon was giving her, hell, they would have submitted. However, for Kim Rania, only the moon goddess could make her submit.
That was something had instilled in herself, and it helped that she had sworn that no man would ever make her feel helpless. Granted she was weak when it came to Dalrae, but in that same intensity, she was just as strong.
"At least I have people to reject me, you have no one, Park Jihoon. Do you want me to explain how I murdered your beautiful Yanna? She was pleading for mercy, her eyes clouded with pain and hope that you would show up and save her from me.
"But you were late Jihoon, and I got to feel the warmth of your mate's blood on my hands before she breathed her last. I must admit it was really satisfying. Y'know, seeing her that helpless, and watching her have to trust that your ass would show up for her.
"Then again, we both know how your attachments go. You never show up. You nev—" Rania said and Jihoon closed the distance between them faster than Rania could blink, his blade roughly set on Rania's neck.
The Calindra alpha was pissed, no.
He was super angry.
He wanted to put an end to Kim Rania right there and then. The hatred in his eyes for Kim Rania was evident and it was suffocating. The pain of losing his mate, along with his alpha nature was making him an unstable man.
Right this moment, all he had to do was just press a little harder on the artery on Rania's neck and she would bleed to death. That would give him the chance to feel Rania's warm blood on his hands and the rare pleasure of making the great Rania bend the knee.
He could put an end to this madness once and for all, if anything, he could get his revenge and protect his dignity and that of his mate. And maybe he needed to, because Rania was chaotic.
She was a walking typhoon, one that couldn't be controlled by anyone or anything. The fact that she had made everyone believe she had nothing to lose, made it even harder for her to be hurt by anyone, or so they thought.
"Shut. The fuck. Up. Rania. Not another word from you, or else," Jihoon warned, his patience already thinner than the layers that water could have. He was losing his sanity and this woman was right at the center of the madness.
"Or else what? You'll threaten me with my parents? Go ahead and kill them. You will be doing me a favor. Oh, wait. Or you wanna threaten me with Dalrae? You can kill her for all I care, after all, I can always get another beta, Jihoon.
"I'm Kim Rania, and you don't scare me," Rania said, pressing her neck harder on Jihoon's sharp blade, making the alpha boy look at her like she was crazy.
Of course, everyone already knew Kim Rania had lost it, but seeing her willingly bleed, wasn't what he expected. Her level of crazy was unmatched, but this was wild. This was not part of the plan.
For a moment there, Jihoon lost his balance, but regained it just as quickly. He had never seen someone want to die by his hands so desperately. But then did Rania want that or she was just playing the long game with him?
Goodness.
"You think you have nothing to lose, huh? Don't you talk about my mate, Rania, or I'll make your life literal hell," Jihoon said and expectedly, Rania scoffed.
He knew she wouldn't be scared by him, and he knew nothing would break Rania's spirit. However, the day he would find whatever Rania was scared of losing, Jihoon would have won.
Jihoon was hopeful about that day, even though at the back of his mind, he knew it would take all hell to see Kim Rania break. But Jihoon was a patient man. He would wait out his revenge. He would make Rania suffer and he would enjoy every bit of it.
"You're honestly wasting my time. See, you have two options. Kill me and get it over with, or move aside so we both can go to the king, but no matter what you choose, you must remember, that I Rania, am not scared of you, and never will be.
