Lea and Nicole arrived at the Stark company early today.
Work had gone smoothly as usual and Lea had applied herself to her work. Time appeared to fly and before long, it was time for the meeting with the Williams. She had made sure to finish most of her work for the day and started getting ready.
Nicole had gone home after work when Lea informed her that she had to attend an important dinner with the boss later that evening.
"Have a fun time, Lea" Nicole had said to her when she informed her about it.
"We're not going for fun, remember?" Lea said to her sister who nodded understandingly.
She entered the restroom in her office and changed into the dress she had brought from home.
After some minutes, she stepped out of the restroom.
Lea was garbed in a low-neck black evening dress that tapered at her waist and flew beyond her bosom in a curvy style. she chose that dress because it flattered her figure and she was determined to look presentable along with her glamorous boss.
She made her soft silky russet hair plunge over her shoulders and she looked dazzling. She wore a pair of black heels to match and stepped out of her office.
The offices looked empty as everyone had closed from work and had retired home.
She walked gracefully toward the entrance where she met Arlo, the security guard.
"Wow! Miss. Peyton, you look amazing" Arlo exclaimed when his eyes fell on Lea. He was totally dumbfounded at Lea's new look.
"Thank you, Arlo," Lea said to the security guard who seemed marveled at her appearance.
she started to walk forward when Arlo stopped her.
"Miss.Peyton, did you get home safely yesternight? he asked seriously.
Yesternight when he had left Lea all alone to go home, he had been worried.
" Lea stared at the middle-aged man whose expression had changed from wonderment to concern.
"It was fine..." she said hesitantly, remembering all that had happened the previous night, including the new discoveries about herself.
Arlo, as perspicacious as he was, sensed something wrong with Lea's demeanor when he had asked of her safe arrival home yesternight. He attempted to ask more questions but Lea skillfully wrecked his intentions by saying,
"I'm running late. Boss must be waiting," she said and strode away hastily before Arlo could ask more questions.
Arlo stared at Lea's retreating figure and he gave out a tired sigh. He knew something was off with Miss. Peyton, as he affectionately called her.
In front of the company's entrance was parked a sleek luxurious limousine. A man dressed in a black suit opened the door to the vehicle when Lea stepped out.
Lea murmured thanks and entered the limousine where Xander was waiting impatiently for her, as they were running late.
"You're late again" his deep voice rumbled when he felt Lea's presence in the car, his eyes were lowered and he had not yet set his eyes on her.
"Must I always-" his words were cut short when he lifted his gaze to look at her.
He was utterly dumbstruck that he swallowed the rest of his words that were meant to scold her for being tardy. He gaped at her for a long while marveling at Lea's profound beauty. She was looking her attractive best and not even the great Xander could take his eyes off her.
After a rather awkward silence with Xander admiring Lea, Lea's soft voice prompted him when his grey eyes were literally devouring her graceful appearance. She looked so different with the clothes she was wearing now and she was almost unrecognizable.
"Shall we go?" Lea tactfully took the opportunity to steer matters away from the fact that she was late.
Xander awkwardly cleared his throat and regained his composure. He signaled the driver to take off when Lea was settled down on the seat facing him.
The atmosphere between the two turned tense with Lea looking anywhere and elsewhere but him.
Xander berated himself for staring sheepishly at her and when Lea stole a quick glance at him, she noticed her boss's self-berating expression as he probably felt annoyed with himself for openly gaping at her. It was unlike the cold and aloof Xander to show such expressions. He was the always stoic and well-composed man, hence, Lea found his expression quite funny and she pressed her lips hard in order not to burst out in a peal of hysterical laughter.
She finally decided to start a conversation with him to clear the choked atmosphere.
"How was the Williams able to win a contract with the Myers. It is quite something nobody had seen coming."
Xander who heard Lea's voice question him cleared his throat for the second time and straightened his back.
"It sure is amazing and no one saw it coming," he said in a nonchalant tone as if uninterested in discussing the issue as eyes spelled disinterest.
Lea, taking a cue from that, refrained from asking any more questions.
After a rather tense period of driving which appeared to drag on and on, they arrived at what seemed to be their destination. The limousine parked in front of an enormous deluxe-story building that was glistening with sparkling lights. The whole environment looked busy and lively with people of the high class moving in and out.
The bodyguard opened the door and Lea stepped out of the car along with Xander.
Xander stood outside the entrance of the building while Lea noticed the huge designed sparkling letters which read 'HOTEL DE LUNA' imprinted on the walls of the building. Xander looked elegant in his expensive black suit and as he took long graceful strides towards the inside of the building with Lea walking closely behind him like the secretary she was, eyes turned in their direction, when people recognized the famous businessman-CEO of Stark company.
