Chapter 10 - Epitome Of Exquisiteness

Xander and Lea entered the luxuriously furnished hotel that had people walking here and there. People who seemed to belong to the elite society walked the shiny marble floors that sparkled from the shimmering lights emanating from the fancy chandeliers that hung from the beautifully embellished ceilings.

The way people dressed in their posh clothes only indicated that this exclusive five-star hotel was no place even for the middle class.

Most of the men were dressed in suits and the women were simply looking ravishing. One could easily be intimidated by the mere appearance of the place which was the prime epitome of exquisiteness. Anybody who walked the grounds in this place would automatically feel big and elite, no matter who they were.

The atmosphere in the hotel was soothingly serene and provided a sense of conviviality and tranquility that made its guests feel like they had been teleported to a different world and they would never want to leave.

Lea's bright eyes swept across the inside of the exclusive hotel. She was totally gobsmacked and she admired its uniqueness. She made sure not to be caught openly gaping at the place and kept her stares minimal, but that did not stop her from appreciating the elegance of the hotel.

She didn't want it to be so obvious that this was her first time being in such a place although she had been to other nice places thanks to her rich and famous boss, but none of those places held a candle to the beauty and charm of this place. This was an entirely new feeling she was experiencing and she didn't want it to end.

After some minutes of walking with Lea feeling the heavy stares of people on her and the person she was with, they came to stand by a large counter that looked like where the guests usually checked in and out, two attractive young women stood behind and smiled widely when Xander came to stand in front of them.

They seemed to know who he was as they tried their possible best to sweet-talk him. They were overly welcoming and Lea only philosophized that it was because he was the famous all-time businessman man.-What money and fame could do!

Lea saw Xander take out a card from his front pocket and placed it on the counter.

After a quick examination of the card, Xander was escorted by one of the women who seemed elated to accompany them to the place where the dinner party was being held.

"This way Mr.Stark," she said in a sweet alluring voice and the gesture was not lost on Lea.

As she led them through the lift to one of the top floors, they finally arrived in front of a huge double-door apartment that opened to reveal the eloquence that lay in the interior.

The lady took her leave to attend to other guests as per her job. If she was left to have her own way, she would have stayed with Xander and attended to him all night long. She unenthusiastically walked away feeling reluctant.

Lea's eyes glimmered with surprise and wonderment when the doors flew open. She was visibly gaping now and she didn't care. She couldn't hide her amazement. If what she had seen downstairs amazed her, this was triple the wonder. Her mouth was literally hanging open and it took her boss's sudden voice to jolt her from her reverie.

"I'll urge that you close your mouth to avoid drooling. You don't want to wet your pretty dress." his deep husky voice sounded in her ears.

She closed her mouth abruptly and reflected on his words. Did he indirectly compliment her attire? This sly boss of hers!

Lea walked as elegantly as her boss matching his graceful calculated steps.

Even after being slightly warned about not gaping openly, Lea seemingly struggled to keep her wonderment to herself.

The large hall was filled with people of the high society. There was a huge stage at the front which had a picturesque backdrop and it looked scenic.

Dinner tables were arranged on either side with a large carpeted gap in the middle which resembled an aisle in a wedding hall.

The glittering lights stemming from the crystal fancily huge chandeliers gave the hall a magical look that was otherworldly. There was a large screen on the wall above the stage which currently portrayed a merged image of both companies -the Williams and Myers.

"Stay close" Lea who was looking elsewhere heard her boss speak.

She was not paying attention so she had not heard what he just said.

She raised her brows slightly indicating that she had not heard him and Xander repeated his words in a sterner voice.

"Stay close, don't go wandering around. Is that clear?" Xander's words sounded like a warning in Lea's ears but she meekly nodded her head in compliance, not wanting to irritate her domineering boss.

As the duo started walking with Lea following closely behind, several gazes averted in their direction which made Lea's steps turn awkward as she felt the heavy stares on her, unlike Xander who walked gracefully with elegance as if he owned the place. She tried to maintain a firm composure with her head held high to match her boss's graceful strides.

"You're here, Xander." a deep voice spoke. The intensity and profoundness of the voice made Lea flinch a little, sending shudders down her spine although she had not yet set eyes on the person, but the voice sounded somewhat familiar.
