" You have to give us an explanation!" said Mrs Anderson as she sobbed frantically! She pushed her son who was in the wheelchair wrapped in bandages like a mummy and squeezed out the rest of her courage as she looked at Derren Blake who was calming sitting on the recliner in his living room and cutting apples with a dagger that was sharp enough to skin someone. "Mr Blake, you promised us a hell of a lot of benefits in exchange for marrying your sister. And we agreed, even though the public opinion of your sister is that she isn't capable of marrying someone from a decent family, we were still willing and this is how your sister treated my son? Look at him! Not a bone was left intact! She even stomped on his —— on his——" Mrs Anderson didn't continue but everyone in the living room understood that the Anderson family will have a hard time keeping their family line going.
" That's right, Mr Blake." Mr Anderson echoed his wife as he solemnly looked at Derren who popped the chopped apple in his mouth without a care in the world. And the anger that Mr Anderson was suppressing in his heart, immediately exploded. " I do admit that marrying a girl for benefits is wrong but does your sister have any other redeeming qualities other than bringing a whole load of benefits to the family she will be marrying into?"
Derren who just picked up another piece of apple stiffened as he slowly dropped the piece back on the plate and sat up straight. Behind him, his assistant started to sweat buckets of ice-cold water. He rolled his eyes to the high heaven as he complained to the God who allowed someone as stupid as Mr Anderson to be born in this world, but there were no worries—- Mr Anderson's status as someone alive would soon be changed into ' dead.'
However, Mr Anderson didn't realise that his life was in danger. He was still going on about as he complained about Vanessa to Derren. " I mean have you ever heard of a girl who beat the living shit out of her fiancé'? My son can't even move for the next six months! I am afraid such a girl would be a bane to whoever she marries, she is rough, and brash and her attitude is something that I don't even want to talk about. So, what if my son was meeting with his ex-girlfriend? In these times, which man doesn't have a mistress or two——AHHHH" before Mr Anderson could continue, a sharp dagger came flying in his direction. If he wasn't quick enough his left eye would have been stabbed!! What the hell!!
Mr Anderson stared at the dagger that was stuck in the pillar behind him as it ominously glinted. And patted his chest as he turned around to look at Derren who was staring at him coolly, with his elbow resting on the armrest of the recliner while his face was resting against his fist. Mr Anderson stiffened under Derren's gaze that wasn't flickering even in the slightest and swallowed hard. "Mr Blake, what is the meaning of your actions? I could have lost my eye——"
But before Mr Anderson could say anything more Derren slowly stood up from his seat and the Andersons who were seated at a good distance away from him immediately stood up and retreated several steps back.
"Mr Blake——"
" Thank God for his grace," said Derren as he slowly took out the gun from the side pocket of his jacket and turned off its safety. " I was going to stab you right in the mouth but you were fortunate enough that I missed."
Mr and Mrs Anderson turned speechless as they stared at the devil who was languidly walking over to them. "Mr Blake—" began Mrs Anderson but just then Derren aimed his gun at her feet and pulled the trigger. As the sound of a gunshot rang in the house, Mrs Anderson jumped three feet up in the air. " What the hell do you think you are doing Mr Blake?"
" You wanted an explanation, right? I am giving you one," said Derren as he aimed his gun at Mr Anderson next. "Indeed, men nowadays have mistresses left and right but my sister's husband can't have one, isn't it something that I discussed with you all earlier?"
" Yes, Mr Blake that's true but almost killing somebody—-" Derren once again pulled the trigger and Mr Anderson jumped in the air just like his wife. His heart thudded violently in his chest, as he slumped down on the floor. That gun was aimed right at his feet, if he didn't jump then he would be staring at a bloody hole!
He immediately squashed his plans of getting benefits from Derren Blake without letting his son marry Vanessa. At first, he thought that Derren would so him some face—- after all, he was a good businessman and his hands were clean as well, this was the kind of family Derren was looking for his sister because he wanted Vanessa to live a life free of blood and smuggling. But he was an idiot! Will a devil look at someone and give them face just because he was going to make a deal with them?
Derren Blake and Vanessa Blake were like the same peas in a pod! Totally black-hearted and inhuman! One beat his son until he couldn't even move and the other was making them dance like monkeys at gunpoint. He immediately stood up and pulled his wife with him as she hurriedly whispered, "Let's get out of here."
" But——" Mrs Anderson was of course unwilling, her son was beaten like this and yet they were leaving without getting a proper benefit.
Mr Anderson was infuriated by her dilly-dallying and tugged her wrist harshly. " What are you 'but'-ing for? Can't you see the gun in his hand? He will make us his bloody targets if we don't get out of here quick. Forget about getting a benefit, we will lose our lives in the wake!"
With that, he pulled his wife and son out of the Blake house.
Derren's assistant watched them go and turned to look at his boss and asked, " You are letting them go just like that?"
Derren smiled as he turned the safety of his gun and looked at his assistant. " Of course, I am a good man aren't I? Trish?"
Just as he said that the sound of tires screeching came from outside and something crashed.
Trish raised his brow at Derren. " A good man?"
" Hey, at least I am giving them a chance to fight for their lives? Anyway enough about them," said Derren as he pocket the gun in his jacket and smiled dangerously. " Call Vanessa, I need to have a good chat with my dear sister. After all, she made a world record, chasing her fiftieth fiancé away."
