Chapter 12 - Chapter 12

"GYAAAAAA!"

"MY EYES! MY EEEEYYEEES!"

"SOMEBODY HELP! I CAN'T MOVE MY LEGS!"

"IT BURNS!"

"I CAN'T BREATHE!"

"Mister Stark, I don't feel so good…"

"HANG IN THERE KID"

"THIS ISN'T THE TIME TO FALL ASLEEP YOU IDIOT"

"Granny… is that you?"

"GUGH.... cough, cough…"

"I CAN'T SEEEE!"

"I love you…"

"Sorry, I love your wife."

Marquis Leopold and his surviving soldiers watched in pure horror as the voices inside the purple cloud screamed in agony. "This is what the Lionheart dog was talking about…" Things keep getting worse and worse than he had planned for.

As the fat man damned his bad luck, he turned his horse preparing to flee. That's when a familiar sound reached his ears.

"You got to be kidding right?"

One after the other the soldiers raised their heads looking toward the cloudy sky, despairing laugher starting to resound between them.

"That's right, they said there are two of them… right?"

"Aaaaahhh! I give up. What was the point of trying in the first place?"

"Can eternals really win against those things?"

"I heard they hunted a few of them in the past…"

"We should have asked them for help even if we had to beg for it."

"Hahaha, humans are done for."

Some tried to flee, but those without horses threw their swords and shields then sat waiting for the upcoming demise. A second later another meteor fell taking their lives in the impact.

The second rorock looked a little different. covered in black as red lines divided the boulders marking its shell.

The monster that was about double the size of the first one was more an erupted volcano than a normal mountain. The burning steam it released put an end to the Windyfields' army, and Marquis Leopold faced his death as well.

…..

"Hey, Lionheart brat… what is that thing?"

Anemone and the citizens who stayed behind watched as every last soldier meaninglessly lost their lives.

A few seconds after the purple smoke cleared the two dragons started slowly picking up the bodies that still had shape, devouring them along with massive amounts of dirt. The little hope they had before was lost and some of them began losing their minds.

"That's a female." She already knew all about it, but that knowledge didn't help in stopping her legs from shivering. Only one hunt for a female rorock is recorded.

The book Anne read said that about two hundred years ago it took an army of over a hundred eternals facing the first female to win, making it one of the biggest wars in human history.

"Milady, the reinforcements have arrived." said one of the guards "you should leave this place while you still can. We won't be able to face your father if something were to happen…"

Ignoring her guard and his reasonable advice the red-haired girl turned to the battalion that just arrived with an order. "PREPARE YOUR SHIELDS! FORM A LINE, WE WON'T ALLOW THOSE THINGS TO PASS!"

Powerless against her word, the group of about a hundred knights went to the front and formed the shield wall. "Get me one of those," she said pointing at the tower shield that is clearly too heavy for someone of her size.

"Milady, I…"

"I told you before that I won't run!" Taking the oversized rectangular plate, Anne walked to the front with little bother from the shield's weight, but as she took her third step a rough hand was placed on her shoulder.

"Ya are a brave one fer someone so small, but I can't face ma kids if I let ya die." The big woman that stood beside her a few seconds ago swung her oversized fist punching Anne in the guts, snatching away her consciousness almost immediately.

"Take yer princess and scram!" she said tossing the girl at her guards. Taking the shield that fell to the ground the woman stepped through the agonizing men. "YA ASSHOLES! WE DIE HERE, SO WE DIE FIGHTIN' DAMN IT!" her roar sent a chill down their spines. They stood up, grabbing anything that could be used as a shield and joining the wall.

At that moment, the two monsters were done with their meal, but the dissatisfaction was too visible from the way they behaved.

The gray male started moving toward the evacuees with heavy steps shaking the earth with each step while the female stood in its place doing nothing, or so they thought.

As the guards mounted their horses escaping with the unconscious Anne, the red lines on the monster's back and its rocky shell started glowing with a faint red.

The female rorock adjusted its head level, sucking in a huge amount of air, then in the next moments It spat something toward the sky.

That thing flew over the green fields, past the shield wall then over the escaping guards before hitting the ground sending a shockwave panicking the horses into a sudden stop dropping the riders in the process.
