" Nah, just praying I could receive one." Tidying his desk, Jade began walking towards his mother with his phone in hand. A text message came in suddenly as he was about to place it inside the pocket of his suit pants. He smiled reading the message's top content.
If he was a cartoon character, pink hearts and bubbles would be visible around him. He opened the messaging app to view the full text which made him chuckle a bit.
The text message read; '
At the bottom, an orange shy bunny sticker was attached.
Mother Paulson who was facing his son, was left in the darkness as she eyed him attentively. Feeling her gaze on him, he looked up only to meet her curious and playful eyes.
" Don't look at me that way mom. You will make me blush." As he said that, he began to type with one of his eyebrows lifted a bit higher. He bit the corner of his lips playfully.
' Then don't say it if you are shy but i wanna know.' Jade replied back attaching a winking emoji next to it.
Then he placed the phone in his pocket after sending the text and picked up a novel from the book shelf next to his mother.
" I will drop you home or do you want me to call your driver?" Ushering his mother from the office, he asked locking his office door.
An ' am waiting' expression vividly outlined itself on Mother Paulson's oval face to which Jade just laughed it off. He ignored her as he waited for her answer his question.
" It seems as if I will have to drop you off." He sighed before taking the lead with his mother following behind him like an obedient child.
At the entrance, Jade lead her to his car. His assistant left early due to a family emergency. Jade drove out of the exclusive parking space and the car disappeared into the busy traffic. It was the rush hour and many had just got off work hence a heavy traffic jam.
A text notification broke the silence within the car. The vibrating sounds reverberated within the small space prompting Mother Paulson to look over. Taking the phone from his pocket, Jade unlocked it. It was a text from his ' Butterfly'.
Before he could respond to it, a new one popped up.
As they were still stuck in the traffic jam, it was convenient for Jade to type back as the car wasn't moving. He smiled at his curious mother before typing.
' Am honoured to have a beautiful tour guide by my side. I will pick you up at your workplace. Still stuck in traffic.'
He glanced at his mother, placing the phone away as he shifted the car slightly forward. He could see her curiosity within her eyes.
" I thought I could have dinner at the family villa but seems like I will cancel my plans so I won't stay for long after dropping you off."
Perplexity drew itself on his mother's face asking for a reason.
" Well, I will be eating out tonight." Jade answered his mother's question before adding, " Phoenix and I so I can't tag you along. Being a third wheel is embarrassing and traumatizing."
