Chereads / Through His Touch / Chapter 37 - George Paulson

Chapter 37 - George Paulson

George being the youngest was born with a weak system resulting in his body to develop slowly. He wasn't that tall but his looks was something to die for. His blue eyes held a story no one knew about except those closest to him.

When his mother, was pregnant with him, she was met with an accident which made her become bedridden for three months. Due to the health complications, she had a premature delivery. The baby was born with a weak heart and some of his bodily functions were affected.

Growing up, George got bullied by his peers till he got to highschool. Thus, he had never interacted much with people. His condition never allowed him to go out more often.

Later on George took refuge in reading books. He had a few close friends and his biggest and best friend was his brother, Thomas. One would have expected them to be enemies and be involved in power struggles as they grew up surrounded by wealth but that was just rumours spread out by people. Only George knew how wealth and power was not of great importance to him. He didn't need to fight for wealth to be labelled as a Paulson, what he needed to do was to be and act like one.

Placing the book on the side table by the bed, George turned to face his wife. The sleeping Lizzy looked peaceful and tender. Her face, clean of any make up was a sight to behold.

Seeing the frown between her brows, George wondered what could it be that his wife was dreaming about to frown like this.

He rubbed the space between her brows, placing a soft kiss there.

" If only I could live long to spend every moment with you."

Sighing, he closed his eyes and drifted off into dream land.

## Next morning. ##

Jane, Phoenix's mother was busy tending to her plants grown by the gates. Her two daughters were not in so she was the only one at home. Humming along to a song playing on her phone, she danced a bit. Lost in her own work, she failed to notice someone approaching her from behind.

" You seem happy as compared to when we were together."

Hearing that familiar voice, Jane slowly turned around. Her eyes widened when the intruder's face came into view. Her breathing hitched as her heart missed a beat.

" Been a long time Jane. Aren't you happy to see me?" Daniel, her ex-husband stood before her.

Daniel Jay was her ex-husband whom she shared most of her youthful memories with. They were married for fourteen years and had raised two beautiful daughters, Phoenix and Dinah. This couple was formerly known as the 'Iron couple' in their neighbourhood. Their love was always felt everywhere they went and they never stopped showing it.

Their union was envied by many, until all changed and broke loose on one fateful day. 'Danny' as she used to call him, turned out to not being the man she thought he was. Their story came to an end when Daniel took her sister to bed. This all happened twelve years back. And after their divorce, the children remained with the surname, 'Jay' instead of taking their mother's.

" Happy? Well Daniel, it's my pleasure to meet you and am happy to see you. Now what are you doing here?" A mocking smile became visible on her lips.

" Jane am sorry. I know I was a jerk and an animal to do that to you."

" Why are you here Daniel? Are you here to apologise again and again like you usually does? It's good that you know that you were an animal to sleep with my own biological sister. Well if there is nothing you want to say, you may kindly leave. I have a lot to do."

" Am sorry once again." Daniel said which further provoked Jane.

Lifting up the watering can by her side, she splashed everything inside on his body.

" Say one more word Daniel and you will regret ever coming here. Are you now bored with her that you want to come back. Well take your butt out of my place and if I ever see you here again, I will cut off your family jewels. Now leave!"

Losing her last bit of patience, Jane snapped at him. This was the man she had loved for more than twenty years.

Without saying any words, Daniel dragged his drenched body out of the yard towards the gate.

" You didn't enter through that gate Daniel. Exit through the hole and space you came from when you got here."
