Chapter 26 - THE AURA CEREMONY

The tone at which Goyle and Helen said it sent chills down everyone's spines.

"What does the snitch aura do?" Expresso asked.

"The snitch aura is what a sorcerer uses to keep track of people, no matter the distance they go, and it could also tell where they are," Helen explained.

"Does this mean that Jona is behind the attack we suffered?" Marie said.

"Probably," the lady said. "She might have used the aura to keep track of you guys and alert the Hunds clan on where to find you people."

"Jona connived with them to take the serum," Fern said.

"This is so unacceptable. After all we've been through?" Six said and got up in anger.

"You need to relax, man. Just relax. Anger wouldn't solve anything here. You just need to keep calm and look for a way to solve the problem," Helen said.

"Oh shit," Six hit his forehead and sat down.

"And there are some answers I'd be needing from you guys," the lady said.

"About the hiona wolf and all, I guess," Fern said.

"Let's begin with the serum," the lady said.

"The serum is what the hiona wolf needs for what's happening to come to an end," Marie said.

"We are actually from the past. We work in the Dalamos laboratory, and our invention is what led to this. In building our time machine, we extracted the life serum of the hiona wolf and used it as fuel, now the missing serum has agitated her descendents," Trevor said.

"That's bad. Good a thing you made an effort to mend it, but for now a hurdle has been set. It's part of the sacrifice," the lady said.

"But, we really need to know where the hiona wolf is. Is there an aura for that?" Marie asked.

They all fell silent.

"Of course there should, if there's a snitch aura, then an aura that could snitch on the hiona wolf should exist," Itsuki said.

"Well there is, but we don't use auras carelessly here," the lady said.

"I guess it's linked to giving account of the kind of aura you use. This particular one is not harmful in anyway. We could give account without any form of guilt," said Expresso.

"But we've got to get our serum first before doing the aura thing, right?" Itsuki said.

"Yeah, right," Kahil said exhaustedly.

"And how do we go about it?" Marie asked.

"The problem is knowing whom has the serum at the moment. It'd be very difficult to find it," Kahil said.

"This is not something we take the whole nght to discuss. Tonight we are celebrating the discovery of a new aura, and we'd want you guys to join," the lady said.

"Which aura is that?" Expresso asked.

"You'd know when you join us. Come on," Goyle said to them and went out of the house.

"Trevor wouldn't be joining, sadly," Marie said.

"Leave that to me. I keep him company here," Helen said.

"If he'd be comfortable with it," Marie said.

"I'm okay with that," Trevor said.

"Then we go!" The lady led them outside.

The outside was still bubbling. Filled with lightened ballons, chatters, and weird attires. There were no seats there and the people just merried standing or engaging in fun activities like displaying fire works, playing games, and doing exercises.

There was a lot to eat and drink, and it was heaven to Kahil, because he ate without having a break. Fern, on the other hand, spent time with some range shooters.

They merried all night, and when the merry was over everyone retired to their respective houses.

Goyle and his mother took them back to the tent and they saw Trevor and Helen in a cheerful discussion. They just heard them laughing and they wondered what was going on.

"Having a lot of fun here right?" The lady said.

"He seems so happy being with her," Launa said, and Trevor sensed the jealously in her tone.

"Uhm, well, we were just having funny discussions on Helen's little friends," Trevor said.

"Little friends?" Marie asked, taking a seat.

"Yes, Helen told me she sees fairies, and they gossip a lot with her," Trevor laughed.

"Don't tell me you believe that crap," Expresso said.

"Well, you don't see them doesn't mean they don't exist. I see them each time I go into the woods alone," Helen said.

"There's no lying there, I used to see them too, but I've lost touch," The lady said.

"What's the criteria for seeing them?" Marie asked.

"The ability to see them is more of a gift," the lady said.

"Not everyone can see them. With their help I've been able to tell poisonous plants from the herbal ones. The woods is made of a lot of toxic plants, which have victimized a lot of people, but thanks to my friends," Helen giggled.

"Though I don't have the gift, I'd love to see them," Marie said.

"I, myself, sees them, but I think they're different from the ones she sees," Launa said.

"What does yours look like?" Helen asked.

"I've spent a lot of years in solitude, so the ones I mostly see are the ones that sit beside me to tell me pacifying stories. They are human sized females, dressed in tight, purple gowns. Their voices are like the hissing of a snake, and I find it weirdly satisfying," Launa explained.

"This sends chill along my spines mehn," Itsuki said.

"Now you're making this tent a bit scary," Fern said.

"If I'd what to see these things the it'd be the one Helen sees," Expresso said.

"I don't think you, particularly, would be able to see them. You don't believe they exist, and they don't like proving their existence by showing themselves to anyone," the lady said.

"I don't want to see them either," Expresso said.

"Hope you stay back in this tent while we all go out into the woods tomorrow to hear from them," Goyle said.

"And what should I be doing in here?" Expresso asked.

"Maybe wishing you were a bit open minded," Marie said to him, and everyone laughed.
