I ruffled my hair, frustrated that I really had no idea about what to do now to get her to stop crying like she was now. I mumbled to myself while biting my lower lip and thinking of various words I could use to calm Shanon down, who was crying so hard that people around her started crying. The two of us started to get busy talking about me and Shanon, who was certain that what they were talking about right now wasn't something good.

"I'm so sorry... I didn't mean to make you cry like now, Shanon. I'm really sorry for what I said earlier."

Those were the only words that could escape my lips as if I had no idea what to say to make her stop crying in front of me like now. I should be able to say more than just an apology, but for some reason, I can feel my tongue getting numb, and it's hard for me to say more than what I can tell her in person.
