I was silent for a moment, not immediately answering the question from Beth that made me remember the unpleasant incident I had last night. Reluctantly, I nodded my head while putting back the ham-filled bread I had eaten earlier.

Why is she even talking about that annoying woman that I met last night? Even just remembering that annoying woman's face was enough to piss me off, and I immediately lost all my appetite now.

I don't think I want to eat bread that I don't even know when my best friend took the time to buy all the bread, one of which she gave me as my current breakfast menu, and I was planning to give my breakfast to her when I saw Beth's horrible look, which seemed to tell me indirectly to finish my breakfast or she would 'help' me to finish it all.
