'It just had to be a Grade 2 Beast, and a Wendigo at that!' I thought as I began looking for places to hide from within the junkyard.
Once I ran off from the area, I found a relatively safe spot to hide in. One where I could monitor the Wendigo and still not be discovered.
'Stupid, stupid, why would I try and fight any monster within a place that was made for punishments, of course I wouldn't out class it!'
'Crap, alright well, first I'll see what it's up to and then I'll devise a plan, but whether I like it or not I'm going to have to get up close.' I thought before taking a peak over a large refrigerator.
Then my eyes laid upon the Wendigo, which was sniffing the air rapidly rather than relying on its eyesight. Once it locked onto my position, it leapt into the air and landed right in front of my hiding pile.
'Frick, not only is it fast but it's also strong and has an amazing sense of smell.' I thought as the wendigo made its way to my location by rapidly swinging both its arms, and tearing through the metal just to pick up the refrigerator and chuck it off to the side.
That's when I noticed it standing tall on both of its legs, and before it could take action, I jumped into the air and delivered a kick to its ribcage. This enraged the humanoid beast and it let out an inhuman shriek that caused blood flow down from my ears.
Then once I regained my composure I could just somehow tell that my attack barely did much damage to the Wendigo, thus like any right in the head person, I took this chance to flee. However, unlike before the beast didn't let up and began chasing me down.
'Alright, now that it's mad, I should find a way to deal some good damage.' I thought as all the gears in my brain began spinning at top speed, until finally I came up with something that had a sixty-five percent chance of working.
While running, I began storing several items inside of my inventory. Then when the Wendigo and I wrapped around the entire junkyard a total of three times, not only was I nearing my limit and needing a break but I was ready to put forth the first part of my plan.
Then to the Wendigo's surprise and delight, I finally came to a stop but not before turning around and jumping into the air to fire a large metal rod at the Wendigo. Then before it made contact with the Wendigo I ordered the system to activate my newly obtained passive skill caled Air Walking.
BOOM!
That was the sound that I heard as the Wendigo tried to stop the metal rod from puncturing its ribcage. Then to my surprise the Wendigo had somewhat stopped the metal rod from entering its body, by putting up its arms in an X like shape over the targeted area.
Although, the rod had managed to make it through both arms and just barely into its body. This was when I made sure to take control of our battle, this wouldn't be a battle of speed vs strength but a battle of wits!
As I felt something which I believe to be called gravity lessen over my body, I began running over to the Wendigo, but not on the ground but in the air. Tiny somewhat transparent blocks of what I believe to be air would constantly be shown underneath my feet, while I ran.
As I reached the Wendigo and heard its whimpers and shouts of pain, I made a metal garbage can lid appear from out of my inventory and held onto it like a shield and rammed right into the metal pole. This caused the Wendigo to roar in an extreme amount of pain and the pole to go flying through the otherside of the beats body.
ROARRR!
"Now just like I was taught before, rely on your instincts and not strategy." I said to myself before having my system materialize a pair of nunchucks. Then just like before and back inside of the alley way I performed a spinning motion and slammed both nunchucks into the beast's head causing it to fall down on the ground once again crying in pain.
Although unexpectedly the Wendigo was still alive! Whereas I was aiming to kill it by knocking its head off in one clean motion, this meant one of two things.
One, I had too much faith in my current abilities or two, that rank two beasts are far stronger than rank one beasts. I much prefer option number two.
Then the Wendigo began trying to use its head to bite my face off as I stood in the air above it. I was only this calm because I knew that once something had its spine damaged to such a degree that it would be parlzyed from the waist down. Now I wonder, just how did I know of such a thing?
"Anyway, time is ticking and I don't want to have my stats reset to zero." I said before walking directly over the Wendigo's head and releasing my control over my passive skill, thus causing me to cave the beast's head in, and cause my legs some damage.
As I felt pain shoot into my legs, I almost didn't notice how I had received a new notification.
[DING!]
[Rank 2 Middle Tier Wendigo Beast Has Been Killed!]
[½ System missions complete!]
[Come on you're almost there, think about what all the girls would think if you went from buff to really skinny. Yep, you'd have no more secret admirers!]
"Not now you lazy piece of crap, just show me how much time I have left before I leave this junkyard." I said trying my absolute best to ignore the System.
[Host has exactly 30 Minutes remaining until they either receive their first time awards or until they get their penalty!]
"Alright, I'll wait here for about ten minutes until I leave and make a run towards the escape zone or whatever its called."
"Can't believe it really took me thirty minutes, everything happened really quickly, plus I didn't
even have to go with option B or make a plan B."
"So all in all, I think I did good, but it's a bummer that I didn't try and absorb some Ki off that Wendigo, say I wonder why that name somewhat rings a bell?"
I said aloud before resting beside the body of the Wendigo.
'So intelligence always beats speed, huh, what about strength?'
