When the next day came, I gathered all the things I figured would be helpful.
There was water, some food, and a pair of light Nunchucks. Ka'dar had them made just for me, made of a light metal, easy to carry but with enough force and speed that they could be used as harmful weapons.
The only thing bad about my weapons are, how I got them. The night before a few hours after Ka'dar broke down a guard delivered them to me, and told me how they were ordered by Ka'dar. So I thought it best to bring them along, I mean I'm going into a battle against Magical beasts after all.
Now, it's time to get going, the only personal problem I have with this mission is that I only have two hours left of vision. I'll have to try and wrap my battles up all in the time span of two hours or, I'll just be dangling my life by a string.
Just then a guard barged into my room.
"It's madness! You'll have to travel to the Center Spawn by foot!" He shouted while the door handle was still in his right hand.
"Wait what happened, and why am I traveling by foot?"
"There has been a wave of monsters directing its attention towards the city lately, and the Golden has just asked for all personnel available to put an end to their advance. However, Ka'dar got approval for a small team of Lower Rank One's and one Lower Rank Two members to join your hunt." The guard took a long breath before continuing.
'Get to the part about my travel already.' I thought impantely, I mistook Kadar's new overprotective nature as a mixture of stubborness and pettiness.
"Although they are far closer towards the Center Spawn than our current location, and the city is undergoing a bit of panic with news being spread around. So basically, all sources of transportation are declining to leave the city and face probal encounters with beasts while the Leader of the Golden is currently in this town."
"So let me guess, my team is moving towards the Center Spawn without me, and wants me to play catch up. And this town is full of power blined idiots." I replied.
"Precisely, now I must go and help out, here is the map and a card you can use to purchase anything you might need on your way there, be safe, young mas-"
The guard quickly closed his mouth after remembering a certain order that he had been instructed by Ka'dar.
He then left the room after placing the items on the ground.
"This day couldn't possibly, get any, nevermind, even I know it could. Let's just hope that I don't run into the Golden Leader or any beasts along the way. Teammates my foot, they have a Rank two member but still wont come and get me."
"Wait, let's think logically, it would make sense for me to go to them rather than them coming here and as a group we still travel there, when they are closer, we would just waste more time. Speaking of that, I'm wasting time!" I finished as I saw ten minutes go down on my time until I needed to recharge my sight.
And ten more minutes later, I was on my way towards the Center Spawn. However luckily I did run into any obstacles on my path towards the Center Spawn, it was rather unfortunate considering I had just been given back my freedom for a while.
However while I was traveling out of town I could have swore I smelt the same revolting smell of beasts all around me. Although I was surrounded by people everywhere, so I just let it go and continued my journey, which in the matter of forty-five minutes brought me to the Center Spawn.
When I entered the grounds labeled as Center Spawn on the map, I was greeted by two tall trees. And below them had the name Center Spawn written in the ground with some strange chalky material. The Center Spawn, according to the map, is a ground of 220 feet long and 320 feet wide!
Once I made it past the trees at the entrance I was greeted by a land covered in trees with torches placed in the ground or built into trees, while keeping the flames away from the wood or leafs.
I then noticed the sounds of clashing in the near distance. While running towards the sounds, I was able to spot three men and one woman acting as a guard or supervisor of some sort.
'I guess these are my teammates, it's best if I determine whether my battles will go smoothly with them around or if they'll just become dead weight. Ah, where did I get all this confidence from?'
After a while of hiding my presence from the group I noticed my timer drop down to one hour left. I was also able to tell that these teammates of mine were far weaker than those three members that I had to face before, whereas the women I believe to be just as strong as two of those members from before put together.
'If I were to have a conflict with these guys then it would surely become a real nuisance. It's best if I just join them and have them watch my back when my vision fades out, this way I'll make use of them and even though I'll have to suffer from their party rules.'
Once the group was all exhausted except for who I believe to be the Rank two guard, I made my move and joined the group.
"Hello everyone, my name is Marcel King, and I'm the last member of your party." I spoke once I had fully emerged from the shadows.
"It's nice to meet you, I'm Clare, this party's support in case a rank two beast tries to intrude and these three boys here are Justin, Luward, and Dustin. Justin and Dustin are both twins, and they both serve under my master, I as well of course."
A woman with pale white skin accompanied by dark blonde hair, and hazel eyes said as she began approaching me.
"Is she cute or what?" I said "accidently" out loud, to try and get on good terms with the woman before me, something I my body was telling me that It would be a pain to have to fight her.
The woman acted as though I hadn't said a word and limited herself to a kind smile, but the three boys behind her acted as if they would make those words my last. 'They have some sort of attachment with this woman, friend, or family I wonder?'
We then proceeded to talk about the rules regarding the kills we made.
"We decided to go on a last hit kill basis, so if you deal the final blow to any beast it's yours to keep along." One of the twins spoke, I still haven't managed to figure out who is with them, at first I thought I had but I was lost in the long run.
"Sounds good to me." I said before scheming on multiple ways to steal most of the kills while remaining in their good light. I mean a mans gotta do what a man needs to get some extra stat points.
Thus, my terrible hunting journey began.
