Yelena's POV
Roshan was just silently standing beside me. I am happy, of course, that he decided to escort me upon entering. This might be the best thing to happen to me since Avyanna appeared.
When we entered, I quickly looked for that woman and felt relieved when I saw her. She suddenly looked away.
That made me curious as to what made her do that. I frowned at her reaction.
Why the hell would she do that? Does she actually hate me or something?
Everyone greeted me like they should be. Whoever even dares to lift their head up high in the presence of power?
I was seated, and they started to ask questions. I let that woman do all the talking, and I just agreed with what she said.
Looking at her while chattering she seems odd today. She was sweating a lot and kept on wiping them.
She's also silent and not wearing the smile she used to. She always smiles to the point that it annoys me so much.
"Lady Royal?"
I look at the lady who just called me. It was Freya Allan. She's known for her lovely voice. though I can't seem to spot where that voice is. Hers was somewhat rough. That woman's voice was more lovely.
Wait.. what? What am I thinking right now? That woman? Lovely voice?
I just sip on my tea and shake off those words.
After a few minutes of talking, she suddenly stood up. That startled us and made our eyes turn to her.
"Lady Royal." She paused. "I would like to excuse myself for today. It's really nice to be invited. I have other things to attend to. I apologize. " She gave me a smile, but something was wrong. It's somewhat forced.
"Ah, no. It's fine. Thank you for attending. " I said, out of surprise.
"Let's have another tea party next time, My Lady." She curtsey and then walked away.
I stared at her back and when I felt something move beside me, I looked up and saw Roshan. He's also staring at her with concern.
It's so frustrating that even though he's with me, he's looking at another woman.
I held his hand when he was about to take a step forward. He stopped and looked at me with disbelief. My chest aches. It was so painful to see him look at me that way.
"I'll go see her. She probably didn't know where the way out was because it was her first time here." I said, and stood up. "Ladies, I will be excusing myself. Please enjoy the tea party."
I let go of Roshan and walked out. I looked left and right to see where she went. However, I took the left route because somehow people always go left where the old building was. I don't know why people always take the left route and end up being lost.
I pulled my dress up and ran toward that direction. And there I indeed saw her.
I gasp for air because I have been running all the way here. I composed myself and just walked so that she wouldn't think I was pathetic for running.
I got curious when she suddenly leant on the wall, and I think she coughed, but then she suddenly fell on the ground.
"Lady Avyanna!" I couldn't help but shout her name and run to her.
When I got to her, she was breathing heavily. I panicked and didn't know what to do. There was blood on his hand and dress.
What should I do? What should I do?
I bit my lower lip, and the dream I'd been having for the past three days suddenly appeared in my mind.
"Would you spend eternity with me?"
"Woah..." I looked down and saw her with a faint smile on her lips.
"Like a sunset sky." Her eyes closed completely.
"S-sunset sky?" I was startled to move because of what she said.
Sunset sky? We're in the middle of the day! What sunset sky is she talking about?
Wait, I shouldn't be thinking about it now! What should I do?
"Help... That's right. There must be guards patrolling around the area. " I whispered.
"Help!! We need help here!! " I shouted, but my voice only echoed in the empty halls. "I'll be back. I'll call for help. " I said, stuttering.
I stare at her but my legs won't work as if they are paralyzed. My body is trembling from fear and nervousness.
"Why would you need help?"
I stopped. What?
"If you let her be, then she would die and Roshan would be all yours. Don't you like that?"
I stopped. My heart beats faster as a smile forms on my lips.
'That's right. If I let her be, she will be gone from our life.'
"Yelena!"
I came back to my senses when someone shook me.
"What happened?" Roshan shouted at me while holding my shoulder. His grip tightened. But I can't seem to feel any pain from that.
It's just that my heart is pounding loud and fast. I stared at him with horror.
"I-I-I don't know. I was walking when she suddenly collapsed. I didn't do anything. I swear, Roshan." I pleaded while holding onto him.
He frowned and let go of my shoulder.
"Call for a doctor quickly." He said.
I nodded and ran to the greenhouse, where I called for a maid.
"Call the family doctor this instant. Quickly!" I ordered harshly, which the maid obeyed.
I turned to Roshan, who was holding Avyanna in his arms.
"Let's get her to one of the guest rooms first." I said, and he agreed by nodding.
He followed me inside the residence and entered one of the guest rooms. He laid her down on the bed.
"We should change her clothes before the doctor arrives."
"Get a dress from my belongings, whichever is okay." Instruct them and turn to the lady who is laying on the bed.
My chest aches again. Why is that?
A part of my heart is happy about her situation, and another part seems empty, nervous, and afraid that she will end her life here.
The maids changed her clothes, and then we waited an hour for the doctor to arrive.
"I apologize, My Lady. I was late." He said as soon as he arrived. "What happened to her?"
"S-she coughed out blood and suddenly collapsed." I said as an eye witness. My body kept on trembling out of fear.
He immediately checked on Avyanna. My palms were so wet and I felt my knees wanting to give up because of nervousness.
I bit my lip again and again until someone tapped me on the shoulder, then I looked up.
"That's a bad habit. You'll hurt yourself." Roshan said.
"Ah.. T-thank you." I said.
"This is quite bad."
We turn our gazes to the doctor.
"What do you mean?" Roshan asked.
"She had a fever and probably forced herself to come here, and she collapsed because of exhaustion. But the coughing out of blood seems to be caused by something else. We should call for a mage, My Lady." He explained.
"A mage?"
"Yes, There's something wrong with her body and it has something to do with her mana."
"But, Lady Brooke is a knight. She had less mana when we last tested her." Roshan said, with furrowed brows.
"I-I'll ask my father to call for a magician to be sure. I'll be back." I said and went to my father's office.
"Father!" I opened up the door.
"Yelena, what's with the commotion?" The father angrily asked.
"A guest of mine collapsed. We need a mage to check on her."
"A mage?" He raised his head and looked at me.
"Yes, the family doctor said so."
"Okay. I'll call for the tower." He looked back to the papers on the table.
"Thank you." I bowed my head and then ran back to the guest room. We all stayed there and waited for the mage that came from the tower.
