"Focus on creating the smallest thing first. We're not in a rush. What do you want to learn first?" Rezia asked Avyanna who was standing.
"Wind magic." Avyanna answered immediately.
"Wind? Why?" The instructor tilted her head.
"Just because." Avyanna answered with a playful smile on her lips.
Rezia didn't ask any further and proceeded on telling her the basics on controlling her magic.
Rezia took Avyanna's hand and helped her to make a small whirlwind.
"In the small space given to you, you can manipulate the air around it. Here. Swirl your hand on the top of your hand like this." Rezia swirls her hand above Avyanna's hand that creates a small whirlwind.
"Wow." Avyanna mumbled in amazement.
"You haven't seen many yet." The instructor said while smiling widely.
"I guess I need to train really hard." Avyanna said while looking at the small whirlwind on her hand.
Days passed by and day by day, Avyanna would learn new tricks on wind magic. It was hard to master it but little by little she's getting a hold of her own magic.
"Wow! Lady, you can fly now." Diane arrived at the garden and complimented Avyanna in amazement.
"Yeah. But still a long way to go." Avyanna said and drank the water that was carried by Diane.
"It's great too, My Lady." Diane put down the tray with water.
"I know, but still not enough." Avyanna clenched her fist.
"That's right, Lady, a letter was sent from the temple." Diane took out the letter.
"From the temple?" Avyanna took the letter and opened it. She reads the content of the letter.
Lady Brooke,
We are inviting you to the Temple's sacred place. As a lady that is blessed by the Goddess of the moon.
'A lady that is blessed by the Goddess of the moon?'
"No one knows I am now recognized as a mage, right?" Avyanna asked Diane with a cold tone.
"Y-yes, Lady. Everyone's mouth is sealed to say anything about you, My Lady." Diane answered with honesty.
"Then how...?"
'In this world. A person blessed by the Moon Goddess is identifying someone with a lot of mana that can either be a magician or a priest serving the Holy Temple.' Avyanna thought deeply. 'How did these people know?'
The letter is already suspicious for her. Especially that it's from the temple. Unlike the mage tower, knights inside a temple are forbidden for the reason that they have bloody hands and the Holy Temple takes action by using divine and holy powers.
"Inviting a knight inside a temple? This is rather suspicious." However, a mischievous curve formed on Avyanna's lips. "I guess I have to visit. The person I'm looking for might be there."
Avyanna continued to manipulate the wind for her to lift herself. Just a little more practice and she could do it skillfully.
"Send a letter back to the temple. Tell them I'll come two days from now."
"Understood, My Lady." Diane bows and goes away.
'The temple, huh?'
"Sht!"
The wind became so strong that it was impossible for her to control.
'This... This isn't mine!'
She closed her eyes and sensed the person who was controlling the wind. But it was out of her league. Like the person casting the spell is concealing her presence.
"The best way to counter an attack is to make it your own. You have a lot of mana, you can do it." It was advice from Rezia.
She stood up and swirled her hand creating the same whirlwind but it was bigger. She felt the wind coming at her became weaker and so she undoed her spell and she fell on the ground.
Using too much mana still exhausts her body. It's not simple to suddenly make a bigger attack.
"Impressive. You did what I told you." Rezia came out from the forest behind the garden.
"So you're the one who did this." Avyanna is sweating too much.
"Yep. Well, you passed your first test. Keep going at it." Rezia sat with crossed legs on the chair of the small pavilion and drank water.
"Don't suddenly make a surprise test! I barely managed it!" Avyanna complained.
"But you did it, didn't you?" Rezia rested her chin on her hand.
"Hmm." She nodded and sat with her.
"Just focus on this first and next week we'll start a new one."
"Understood."
"Miiiisss!!!" Diane is running toward them with another envelope in her hand.
"What is it?" Avyanna asked.
"A letter from the Royal Duchy!"
Avyanna moved quickly and took the letter. Even Rezia was surprised because of Avyanna's sudden movement.
Lady Avyanna Brooke,
You're invited to the Birthday Party of the Lady of the House Royal in two days from today.
"Ha... Diane, have you sent the letter to the temple?" Avyanna asked, looking at Diane hoping that Diane hadn't sent it.
"Yes, My Lady."
All hope went away from Avyanna. It's ruined! Why does it even have to be two days from now?!
Avyanna messed up her hair as she felt lifeless.
"Can you take the letter back?" Avyanna asked.
"The sender is probably away from here now. Do you want me to chase him?" Diane asked, ready to run.
"No. It's fine. It's fine. I'll just manage my schedule in order to attend both of the event." She said,
But her own mind was messed up and she didn't know which to attend first. But an idea came into her mind.
"Just stop training today first." Rezia suggests.
"No. I'll train harder in two days." Avyanna said, determined on her own plan.
"Hmm? Why? It's good if you just stay still today." Rezia said, waving her hand.
"Yeah but. I have to do this in order to..." She stopped and stared at the two ladies waiting on her to continue her words. "Make someone fall in love."
"What?"
"My Lady, you're in love with someone?" Diane exclaimed. She never knew her mistress would fall in love with someone. "Is it one of your suitors? Woah! Have you finally decided who to date?" Diane's eyes sparkled even more as she focused on what Avyanna's going to say.
"Eh?" Avyanna was dazzled by Diane's bright face. "Uhm. Well... It's not among the men.." She turned her gaze somewhere. "It was different. T-this person attracts me more."
"Woah.. Waaahh!! But those men? I-it's such a waste, My Lady!" Diane pouted.
Avyanna put her hand on Diane's head. "I broke ties with the other two. Just the Princes are left. I'll have an audience with them before winter."
"Okay! I'll support my master wherever she wants and whoever she ends up with! Fighting, My Lady!" Diane said with a dazzling smile.
"Haha. Thank you, Diane."
"Well, that's a first. You're learning magic to impress someone, huh. Never heard of it. Every magician I met only wanted high ranks to earn respect from people." Rezia stood up. "I'll get going now. See you next week I guess?"
"Yeah. See you, Miss instructor." Avyanna waved goodbye.
"So. My Lady, who is this person?" Diane asked with sparkling eyes.
"I won't say today. You might get awkward." Avyanna said and walked inside the mansion.
"Me? Get awkward? How?" Diane's eye brows furrowed as she thought of a possible answer.
'I don't get her. She has changed so much. But I like her more this way. It doesn't matter. My Lady is My Lady.'
"Miss, wait for me!"
