Chapter 19 - Chapter 19

Avyanna's Pov

The carriage stopped halfway, and it was so quiet. I immediately prepare myself for anything that will disturb this trip.

The door of the carriage opened and there was a masked man. I stare at him coldly.

"You sure do look beautiful, just like what she said." The man has unpleasant eyes.

I gritted my teeth in annoyance and waved my hand, which sent him flying. I got off the carriage and there were more of them.

I checked on the coachman and he's still okay, but he's so stiff that he seems to be really afraid of being threatened.

"Tch." I click my tongue and wave my hand in the air, creating the whirlwind I have been practicing doing beside floating.

They shouted in fear. I stopped the whirlwind and let them stay in midair.

"You see, I'm really in a hurry today. I don't want to be late on something very important." I shouted at them.

"Y-you, crazy witch!"

"Get us down!"

"Release us!"

I grin.

"Heh? Are you sure that you want to be released?"

"Of course! Once we get released, we'll take you to her!" one of the men shouted.

"Her? Say. Why don't you tell me who this 'her'?" I cunningly asked, smiling sweetly at them.

"W-we won't tell you!" Another one answered.

"Okay. I'll release you."

I shrugged my shoulders and undid the magic while they were in midair. They shouted for help instead.

"AHHH!!!"

"WAIT NO!!!"

When they were almost close to the ground, I raised my finger and made them float in midair again.

High enough for them to break their necks once they landed on the ground.

"So? Will you say it now?" I asked sweetly while smiling and looking up at them.

"Y-you wish."

I click my tongue again.

"I'm going to run late. I'll find it out myself." I just left them midair and walked to my carriage.

"Wait. Get us down!"

I took a last glance at them, then smiled, and I showed them my middle finger before entering the carriage.

"Let us go." I told the coachman.

Just a few more seconds after fleeing the scene. I let go of my finger with a satisfying smile.

♡♡♡

I got off the carriage and looked up at the Holy Temple. It was as dazzling as expected. Every Holy Temple in every historical novel I read is exactly what I expected it to look like.

The pillars are even made of gold. Are those real? If it was built in our world, it would've been taken.

"Are you Miss Brooke?" A man dressed in white clothes approached me.

"Yes." I answered and bowed my head.

"The Saintess is waiting for you, Lady Brooke."

My brows immediately furrowed as he smiled widely.

'Something is definitely strange about this.'

I simply smiled and said, "Please, lead the way."

'What would the Saintess want with me? In the novel, the Holy Temple doesn't have anything to do with the characters. No one even knows who the Saintess was.'

I just followed the attendant from behind. I look around the temple. Everything is extraordinary. Setting that aside, I have a feeling that the other soul is right here. She might also be that person.

"We're here, Lady." He opened a door to a room.

I took a glance at the room and then at him. Then I smiled before entering the room. Nothing is inside but a comfortable sofa and a table.

I walked on the sofa and sat on it. Nothing seems suspicious.

"Ah. Lady Brooke!"

I was startled and turned my head behind me. There was a mischievous smile on her lips. Her hair suits the whiteness of her clothes.

"I am Saintess Rhis of the temple." She bows to me.

Something is wrong with this saintess. I asked Roshan at the party a while ago about the temple.

'All Saintess have stunning Amethyst eyes. Their eyes are similar to the real amethyst.' Roshan stated this.

This saintess has clear red-blooded eyes. I showed her an expressionless face and gave her a cold stare.

I saw her flinch and step back.

My expression lasted only two seconds before I gave her a sweet smile.

"I am pleased to meet the Saintess of the Temple." I bent a little and then raised my head.

"How was the trip to the temple, Lady Brooke?" She asked as she sat on the sofa opposite from mine.

"It was a peaceful trip. The road was surely quiet. And nature is beautiful." I answered joyfully. I have to act like the real Avyanna.

"I am pleased that your trip was safe." It wasn't obvious, but she emphasized the word 'safe'. She is probably the one who sent those assassins.

"Indeed." I joyfully answered.

"I invited you here because I heard that the Lady has a really huge amount of mana." She said with a smile but I can see that it was a forced one.

"I am. I didn't really think that I would have such a thing since I was originally a knight. And knights have a small amount of mana in them." I said with a soft voice and a slight smile on my lips while looking at the floor.

"Yes. Indeed. Very different from the original story, isn't it?"

There it is. She really is the one I am looking for. I acted confused and stared at her.

"Original... story?" I asked confusedly, even tilting my head on the side.

"Heh." She smiled, her teeth grinding on each other. "You can't fool me, you damned bitch!"

She pointed her finger at me. I should be dropping the act now that she has revealed herself first.

I slapped her hand away from my face and then I crossed my legs. I smirked and stared coldly at her.

"So what?"

"You!" Her tone became furious, and that made me smile wider.

This one is easy to antagonize. This means she is easy to influence. But we don't know what she thinks yet.

"I will take that body back!" She said with hostility.

"Take it back? This isn't yours in the first place." I said, trying to confront her and make her even more angry.

"I-It is! I-I am the real Avyanna!"

"Heh." I grin in amusement. I stood up and came to her. "The real Avyanna won't say that she is the real Avyanna. And the real Avyanna won't know about the original story. And most of all, I know where the real Avyanna is."

The complexion of her face changes. She avoided my gaze, but she recovered quickly.

"That body is mine! I made it to be mine! I should be the one enjoying her harem!!" She exclaimed as fire enraged her eyes.

"No. Interfering with this world and another world is a sin to the gods." I stood up and shook my clothes. "I have another event to attend. One more important thing than having a nonsense conversation with another otherworlder." I went to the door, but before I opened it, I turned to her again.

"Actually, the story has been changed. I've declined all male leads and I have turned to having an interest on the villainess. This world is already twisted. You won't get what you want."

I slammed the door shut as I heard her groaning in anger. I smiled in victory and started to walk my way, but instead I bumped onto something.

"Lady Avyanna...?"

"Prince Riley...?"
