Shadows were moving around The Nest.
With their leader not in the compound, they were able to infiltrate RagTag's stronghold. It also helped that they were able to subdue the guard at the gate.
As for the older members of the gang, they were not worried about them. One shot of the tranquilizers made for their kind would do the trick. The humans would be left alone. What they wanted was in the house in front of them.

Angel's eyes snapped open. She quickly looked at Thea only to find the other woman standing on the side of the window. She looked at Cole and Kayla sleeping beside her.
The two children were peacefully sleeping while danger lurks in the foreshadow of their newfound home.
She tucked the blanket around Kayla's body. She then rolled to the other side of the bed to kiss Cole on his forehead. After that, joined Thea on the other side of the curtainless window.
They both curse when they saw the number of shadows moving on the side of the house.
They were too many, and for them to converge in Pyr's house means their target was inside. They looked at the sleeping children. The only thing worth taking was them.
"Stay here," Angel whispered to the other woman.
"Damnnit, woman! I am supposed to be guarding you!" Aretha said in a tight voice. "Pyr would have my head if a part of you will even have a gash."
"Ang OA niya ha," replied Angel. [Is that a bit of overkill?]
"OA na kung OA, but damnit, girl. You need to stay here!" there was an agitation in Thea's voice. [For you that may be overkill, but damnit, girl. You need to stay here!]
Angel touched the other woman's shoulder, before she said, "I trust you. And besides, you treat them like you are their aunt. If Pyr got mad at you, I deal with him."
They grinned at each other before looking back at the window.
"Are you sure you can deal with all of those men?"
She turned and looked at Angle but she was gone.
Aretha could not help but shiver in anticipation. The woman never made a sound. The door did not even make a creek when she got out. Whoever she was, the men outside had no chance of surviving.

Pyr was still an hour away from The Nest when Jin started to roar inside him. His Vulcan S swiveled as he nearly lost the balance of his bike.
He gave a right turn signal so they could stop at the next curb before climbing the mountains. Ven quickly ran to his side and asked what had happened.
"Jin," he replied. "the stupid shit is roaring at me again." He closed his eyes trying to reason with the beast inside him.
Unlike before, Jin never interfered with Pyr's actions.
Sharing the souls of a beast did have its advantages. But now, with the way he was acting, Pyr would like nothing more than to shut the damn dragon inside his head.
"Something must be wrong at home," Ven replied. "I was trying to call Vo and Crackers. They haven't answered. Those two are the only prospects that have surpassed our expectations." He looked at his phone again, dialed, and set it on speakerphone. The call just rang. "Has Jin tried calling Tea?"
Pyr shook his head. "Tea and Jin might be close in their planes, but not me and Thea." Pyr also pulled out his phone and called the only woman in his crew.
"TANGINA KA! ASAN KA NA!?" were the first words she said. "We have tangos at home turf!" He could detect a slight sense of urgency in her voice. [YOU STUPID MOTHER FUCKER WHERE THE FUCK ARE YOU?!]
"Where are my kids?" he asked.
"They are sleeping with me. But Angel –"
"Hello? Thea? Thea?!" he cursed.
"What happened?" Ven asked.
"Jamming signal. We have tangos at home," he looked at Ven. Priest, Skye, Mocha, and Lou.
Lou's wards were still with social welfare. It was a blessing in disguise though.
Lou was not ready to be a father, yet in a way, he feels like they were responsible for the death of the kids' mother. They were not the ones to pull the trigger, but she was their mark.
He was supposed to be at The Nest three weeks ago. But something happened and things went south from there.
Remy stayed with Dom's sons. The man's punishment ended because Dom said cutting his dick off was enough.
He, of course, did not think so.
"We need to move." He glanced at the night sky.
At one o'clock in the morning, the roads they have passed by were still full of cars and trucks.
It was prime time to move different goods from the farm to the market.
However, Pyr could also sense an impending storm on the way. He turned around and regarded the men behind him.
They all stopped when he did. Skye may be the RC or Road Captain, but when they are just traveling from one place to another, they follow him.
He climbed back on his bike and the others did too.
[Jin] he talked to his other half, ['do you trust our mate?]
[Of course!]
[Then chill. Angel…is not normal. She may not even be completely human. We let her deal with what is to come at our home.] Pyr paused and regarded the dragon that had been part of him since he was born. [We are her mates.]
Jin huffed. On the plane where only his beast and some other beings can enter, they looked at each other.
Their bi-colored eyes glowed.
Two souls, one body, one goal.
To protect the place and the people he cared for.
He had failed to do that years ago. He will not fail again.
However, fate has other plans.
Pyr heard a pop somewhere in the distance.
The next instant, a tire of an incoming truck exploded. As the driver did his best to control it, but he was unsuccessful. It collided with a car that was on the opposite side of the lane. The cars in both lanes quickly applied their breaks, but some of them were unfortunate.
In a matter of five minutes, Pyr and the others were looking at a major pile-up on the road.
Fear crept up their hearts.
All of them distinctly heard the pop of a suppressor. With their shifter hearing was able to detect it. This was not an accident.
What was in front of them was a distraction.
Pyr could only pray to all the gods that he knew as he did his best to rip the doors of the cars that were pilled up.
Please, not again...
