Pyr was so hungry that he had to look for a parking place where they could eat brunch. Since the afternoon sky looked beautiful and there were no dark clouds in the sky, he let the windows open.
Angel was not about to complain though. The burger she was eating tasted so good. Pyr was right. The combination of the pineapple and the burger meat worked so well together. The way the pineapple was grilled made it sweeter, complementing the saltiness of the burger. She was avoiding the man in question because there was this teasing smile on his face.
Kayla, on the other hand, was done with her burger and spaghetti. She was busy playing with the toys that she got from the meal. Cole was sleeping soundly, uncaring about the people inside the car.
"You okay, babe?" Pyr asked. Angel nodded as she took the last bite of the second burger that was given to her. "Want another one?" There was still two unopened box of burgers on the passenger seat. She shook her head. She had already had two of this wonderful burger plus a big serving of soda. She also had one of their meat or fish pies? It was hard to tell. One thing was sure though, the food was delicious.
Pyr let out a satisfied sigh and dropped the last of the chicken bone in the bucket. She merely raised an eyebrow in his direction. A bucket of eight-piece spicy chicken, two pineapple burgers, three pieces of the same pie she had, and two large sodas. Her eyes widened when he inserted another straw into an open cup of soda.
He sure can pack food, she thought. A brief flash of a hulking man with an easy smile popped into her mind. The memory was once again too quick to focus on. "Damyn."
Pyr looked at her, she mouthed the word 'later' then indicated Kayla's direction, the man nodded and continued to drink his third cup of soda.
Something in the air must have altered the two adults in the car. They both stopped eating and looked in front of them. Anticipation filled the air as they waited for whatever was to come.
They did not have to wait long. Three vans pulled up and surrounded them. Each van had at least eight people. All of them were armed; some had guns while others had baseball bats.
One of the men started walking towards them. Pyr suddenly gave her his phone and a headset. "Put that on our daughter's ears. She doesn't have to know what these mofos want."
Angel ignored the "our daughter" part and turned to her saying, "Kayla, mama wants you to listen to music for a while, okay?" the little one just nodded, accepting the headset. Angel was surprised that he already prepared a playlist for her.
Kayla smiled when she heard the familiar sounds of different nursery rhymes fill her ear. Pyr was quick to make sure all the windows were up before he met the men that were outside.
From her point of view, the men were saying something to Pyr, it was impossible to know what it was because she couldn't read their lips.
A gasp left her mouth when one of the men suddenly swung at him. She was about to step out of the car when she heard a loud, "NO" inside her head. Startled, all she could do was watch as the male who rescued her was struck by the baton one man after another.
He was down on one knee, she was expecting him to flinch, yet what he was doing was looking at her through the front window of the car.
She jumped from her seat when a bat suddenly hit her side of the window. The man who swung the bat did it again and again. She could see the frustration in his eyes because he could not even create a crack in the glass. He was suddenly flung away from the car, by a very angry Pyr.
Gone was the man who looked like he was getting beaten. In front of her was a warrior ready to fight. Pyr had lost his sunglasses and his bandana. Everyone could see his bicolor eyes and golden hair.
One by one, all the men were injured. He dislocated bones and broken kneecaps. There was no blood, but she could see how much pain he had inflicted on the humans.
Wait, what? Humans? How could she possibly know that he was fighting humans? Does it mean, she knew how to tell the difference between the two beings?
I better tell Pyr about this, she thought. Most of the men were already down. Only the drivers of the vans were not injured. Angel gave one last look at the two kids before she opened the door and stepped out of the car. She made sure that it was closed and made her way to the male that was holding one man on his shirt.
Angel wrinkled her nose. The coward had peed on his pants in fear. She was about to reach Pyr's side when there was a shout and one of the injured men on the ground got up and decided to attack her.
She sidestepped to avoid getting hit, and grabbed the man's arm, flipping him on his back. Angel flung the bat. It hit one of the vans, creating a deep dent. Uncaring about his previous injury, also dislocated his other arm. An ear-piercing scream made Pyr look at her, one of his eyebrows was raised in question. "He attacked me," she simply said.
"So you dislocated his other arm?" he asked. The man he had suspended in the air by one hand fainted. He let go of his shirt and surveyed the scene before him.
The drivers of the vans were helping their comrades inside. Angel noticed one man standing apart from them. He was shouting at someone on the phone.
"You stupid, c**t! Did you ever think about other people?! Half of my fucking men needed medical attention!... You don't care?! F**k you!" the man felt someone looking at him. He trembled when he saw the man and the woman walking toward him. "No amount of money can pay me, you b***h! Your father cannot do anything!"
The phone was plucked out of his hand, and he was powerless as the big man talked to the brat on the other end of the line. He glanced at the woman and groaned.
The brat had just asked his gang to hurt the most feared Motorcycle Club in the world. Clubs all over the globe stay in touch with one another to make sure they were updated on this club's whereabouts. And the stupid b***h was unaware of who she crossed the line with.
RagTag MC.
They were shrouded in mystery yet, the only sure thing about them was they were monsters. And in front of him was the president of the monsters.
Pyr Draconian.
He could only watch as his phone was crushed in his bare hand. When his two-colored eyes met him, he lost his footing and fell. His gaze swung back and forth between the man and the woman wearing Pyr's patch.
It was not his day, and it looked like they were about to die.
"You won't die. Although your gang will be short for a while, I suggest you use that time wisely to think about the future," Pyr's deep voice caused him to flinch. He could only nod, unable to utter a single word. "I'll deal with the woman who sent you to us. I have an idea who she is. Call this number," a calling card was tossed to him. "He will be paying for all the damages I have done." The thug breathed a sigh of relief when the president of RagTag MC started to walk away from him. He was expecting the woman to follow, but when the thug looked at her, he screamed.
Her normally calm red eyes were blazing, and it looked like there was an actual fire burning in them. She leaned close to the thug and said, "Mess with us again, there won't be any bodies left to heal. He just finished eating and was not in the mood to give a real fight. So you are lucky." Her voice was so soft that it was hard to understand it. Between the blood rushing in his head and the loud beating of his heart, he got the message loud and clear.
This was the only chance they had to redeem themselves. And if they cross paths again depending on which side they were on, his gang will die if he chose the wrong side.
"Y...yes." the thug gave a shaky reply. She must have been satisfied by his answer because she pivoted and never looked back. When he was sure they had left, it was the only time he picked up the card that was on the ground.
Today was not his lucky day. Why? Because the title written on the card was the most powerful person in the country. For a monster to have his number could only mean one thing.
He was unstoppable.
The title on the card?
President of the Republic of the Philippines.
