"I thought that we were going to go shopping for clothes?"
Angel asked while sitting in the backseat of the car. The two kids were sleeping, Kayla was seated on the baby seat while Cole was in her arms.
They had been on the road going to Pyr's place for almost two hours. Traffic was horrendous, and the number of cars in the Metro did not sit well with Pyr. If not for little Cole and his sister, they would be safe and sound in the main house in the compound.
He glanced at the woman before answering her. "Did you see the number of cars outside? Those people are out because it's the weekend. I would rather shop in the market near our home that joins those hoard of people," he shuddered. If it was just him, he would have no problem going to the department store and buying things. But since he has a woman with amnesia, and two kids with him, he decided that it would be better to shop at malls and small stores that were located in the Rizal area.
Angel just shrugged and looked at the window. There were fewer cars on the street than there were two hours ago. It was a good thing that Ven picked the Range Rover for their transport rather than the flashy cars they have.
"You hungry?" he asked after a while. Jin was rumbling, he wanted something to eat because they did not eat breakfast before leaving the hospital. There were several drive-thrus they could pick from.
"Papa?" Kayla said. The little girl must be hungry, she was still rubbing her tired eyes when he made a right turn. He was going to treat his daughter to something she never had.
Jin had a happy glow about him when the human part had accepted the kids as his. The only thing that the damn beast wanted was the woman who was helping Kayla wipe drool on her face.
When he saw a familiar red building, he smiled. He was there when the popular Filipino fast-food chain started. He even invested in the said food chain, and he never regretted his decision. He heard Kayla give an excited whop. She had heard about the place where he was taking her.
"Papa, the red bee?" she asked. There was a note of wonder in her voice, as they got closer. "Mama! Red bee! The happy red bee!"
Angel looked at her in confusion. "Happy red bee?"
When they got near the building, he could see the realization in her eyes. Kayla gave an excited squeal upon seeing the said place for the first time.
"PAPA! I wanna see red bee! I wanna see red bee!" Kayla can barely contain her excitement. Henry must have said something or she must have seen some advertisement about this fast-food chain.
"I'm sorry, munchkin," he started, "we can see the red bee another time. Cole needs to be home. I promise you will even dance with the happy red bee okay?" He wanted to hurt himself when the happiness in her eyes dimmed. Yet his heart swelled with pride as she nodded, and looked at her brother sleeping soundly.
"Is okay, papa. But can I have a toy?" He unlocked his seatbelt, so he could lean down and kiss his daughter on her forehead.
"Of course, you can. If all the toys are available, let's get everything, okay?" he said.
The shine of happiness returned to her eyes. He was able to breathe a sigh of relief, he heard Angel suppress her laugh. He only grinned at her before driving to the order counter.
Pyr almost ordered everything on the menu, but relented. He was happy though, that all the toys for the kids' meal were available. He asked the manager to give the other meals to the kids that he had seen hanging around the place.
The manager of the place was all smiles when knew what Pyr had done.
"Babe? Can you put Cole on his carrier? I ordered a ton of food for us. You might as well eat. I ordered a burger with pineapple for you," he told her.
"Pineapple in a burger?" she asked, confused.
"Try it first. Trust me. It's the best combo. I had the same reaction as you. But, don't take my word for it, better than you have it yourself." His Angel looked so skeptical that he could not help but chuckle.
Ven tried to imitate their recipe. He was close, but whenever they see the red bee, every one of them will be buying something from it. The only food on the menu they avoided was ice cream.
Kayla was doing her best to catch a glimpse of the familiar mascot. However, it looked like luck was not on their side.
By the time he pulled up to the pickup counter, the little girl's excitement slowly diminished. As much as he wanted to show her the Happy Red Bee, the mascot was not around.
"Here is your order, sir!" said the woman at the pick-up window. He smiled at her.
The woman swooned. This customer looked so hot and appealing. She hid her disappointment when the man suddenly said, "Babe? The baby is settled? Can you get this?" She heard a woman speaking, then saw her through the window of the car.
She was rather plain-looking but something about her made her look down on herself. "How about I just picked the food. Then go around, place them beside you so you don't have to do that, pass this, give me that thing?" The woman was feisty, she doesn't deserve such a man! But then the man laughed, and told her, "Go ahead, babe. You just gave a solution to my dilemma."
She heard a car door open and within seconds, she saw the woman he called 'babe'.
She was rather plain looking, the woman at the pickup counter thought. They were of the same height, 5'3" and even her hair looked messy. She was also a bit fat. She could see a slight tummy. The woman suppressed a laugh. This must be the man's mistress or something. She plastered a fake smile as the woman stood by the open window.
She would replace this woman. She is far better suited for the handsome man after all. "Here are your other orders, ma'am please enjoy your-," she stopped midway when she saw her eyes. It was the eyes of a devil. Red. She swallowed several times. "Enjoy your meal…"
The man's woman only raised her eyebrows before getting the food and turning her back to her. Shock could be seen in the woman when she noticed the leather patch the woman was wearing.
RagTag Motorcycle Club. President.
She was not a mistress, but the Old Lady of a president of a biker gang. Her eyes flew to the handsome man, he had pulled down his aviator glasses and looked at her. He just smirked at her, as if he knew what she was thinking.
She couldn't believe the audacity of the man! How dare he! He gave her a middle finger salute before driving off.
"The nerve of that Ahole!" The woman fumed. "If he ordered, here again, I will make sure to do something with his food!"
"And you are fired," said her supervisor. She was so engrossed in her rantings, that she did not notice her supervisor walking by. "I don't tolerate such an attitude in my establishment. So I suggest you leave. You will get an email about your final pay. Get your things and go!" He shouted.
"Sir! I'm sorry I was just…" she pleaded.
"No. That man you wanted to mess with, owns this establishment you are working at. And you will what? Do something about his food because he did not take notice of you! Get out! You will never work in the food industry again!"
The woman walked out of the place in tears. She lost a good job, all because of her stupid temper. Now, it looked like it would be impossible to work in the food industry!
It's all that woman's fault!
Good thing she remembered the plate number of the car. Nobody messes with me, she thought. She picked up her phone and dialed a familiar number. When someone answered, all she said was, "I have a job for you…"
The woman smiled. They picked the wrong person to cross with.
