''Why did you do it? You almost slept with Alison.'' Lucia asked angrily. She was sitting in Walden's office with Boaz.
''It was a mistake! It won't happen again, ever!'' Walden said and closed the documents in his hands.
''No! it is going to happen again and again until you finally sleep with you. You have her scent all over you. It is just a matter of time before you take her and once it is not with her consent, that is rape, Walden!'' Lucia was clearly angry.
''That's enough, Lucia. Walden is already regretting his actions.'' Boaz stood up and held Lucia back.
''Let's get this over then!'' Walden looked up.
''What? What do you mean?'' Lucia asked skeptically.
''You are right. I don't think I can resist her. After what happened last night, I feel that when it comes to her, my taste and desire for her will always override my senses. Let's kill her when it's the full moon again.''
''Walden, what are you saying? Didn't we discuss this already? Alison is an innocent girl. She doesn't deserve to die.''
''She was never meant to be alive, Lucia. That girl doesn't even have a future. Her future is blank.''
''Then, create one for her instead of killing her. You can do that.'' Lucia yelled.
''I can't. her existence will always remind me of my wife and my inability to protect her. Once the full moon comes next month, I will personally see to it that she is dead.''
''You are crazy, Walden. You've gone mad. You know what… I am not going to stay here and listen to any more of your nonsense.'' Lucia picked her bag and disappeared.
''Lord Walden, are you serious about getting rid of that human girl?'' Boaz asked.
''That was the plan from the beginning. Once I get hold of the soul of Kaada, I can proceed to eternal rest with her.''
''Actually, what if this was what Kaada wanted?''
''What are you talking about, Boaz?''
''Maybe Lucia was right. There must be a reason why your mother gave Kaada's soul to that human girl. There is still two weeks to the next full moon. Why don't you take that time to study the human girl? Get to know her and after that, you can decide whether you still want her dead or not.''
''Boaz, why this sudden change? You are the one who always wanted that girl gone?'' Walden asked.
''Lucia has never been protective of someone like this before. I feel that there must be something special about that human girl. You know Lucia… she doesn't really care about humans but this girl is different.''
''Lucia is sympathetic towards Alison because Alison saved her a few years ago.''
''I don't think that is all. Well, that is just my suggestion. You are still free to do whatever you want. I have to go. I have a meeting to attend later on.''
'See you later.'' Walden said and leaned on the seat. He looked at his clock and muttered. 'Get to know her?''
…..
Alison placed the last dish on the table and stretched herself. She looked at the food and smiled. 'You did well, Alison. The boss will be happy with you.''
Alison had the habit of cleaning while she cooked so when she was done, there was little to no work left for her. She covered the dishes and picked her bag and left the penthouse.
Clack!
Alison opened the door to the stairway and almost bumped into another person. She looked up and saw a familiar face staring down at her.
''Oh!'' Alison stepped back when she saw Walden. ''You… what are you doing here?'' Alison asked and turned to look at the hallway.
Walden was a little taken aback after seeing her. Because of her, he decided to take the stairs so that he wouldn't bump into her.
''What are you doing here?'' Walden asked.
''I… I came to clean my boss' penthouse. What about you?'' Alison scanned Walden carefully. Every time she saw him, he was always in an expensive suit and shoes. She wondered exactly what he was doing.
''I live here!'' Walden answered and looked at Alison. He remembered what Boaz said to him and decided to act on it. 'Do you live here?'' He asked.
''Yes. I live in the third floor. This leads to the penthouse. You…''
''What?''
''You are not my boss, right?'' Alison hugged her bag anxiously.
'I live at this floor. Apartment 3300, just behind you.'' Walden lied.
Alison calmed down and relaxed her shoulders. She looked at Walden and asked. 'Today you are different. You aren't you cold to me like before.''
''Was I cold to you?'' Walden asked with an innocent gaze.
''Yes! At the cemetery and the school the other day. You almost scared me into thinking that you weren't human. Looking at you now, you are quite ordinary.'' Alison said.
''Why are you speaking to me so casually?''
''You don't look that older than me. I like talking casually. You can do the same.''
''I don't want!'' Walden said and turned to go and Alison held his hand.
Walden paused and the color of his eyes changed. He closed his eyes and calmed down before opening them.
''Do you hold every man you meet on the streets like that?'' Walden asked and Alison took her hand off.
''No! I just wanted to ask you a question.''
''Ask right away!''
''You… what exactly do you do? You are so mysterious. My granny used to tell me that if I meet someone three times, it means we are fated. Maybe we can be friends.''
''Friends? With you?'' Walden stuffed his hands in his pockets and turned to face Alison.
''Yes, you know… you seem like a decent person. Maybe we might have a lot in common.''
''I don't understand!''
''You don't understand. I don't understand what I'm saying too. I just have the feeling that I need to be friends with you. It's okay if you don't want to be friends. Rich people hardly make friends with poor people, right?''
''I am not rich! Those cars you saw me with belong to my boss. I am a driver.'' Walden said and almost cracked up when he saw the face of Alison.
