Chereads / Chosen: Bloody Romance / Chapter 32 - You Killed Her

Chapter 32 - You Killed Her

Liam was taking a casual stroll in the forest. This wasn't just an ordinary forest. It used to be their home. It used to be their kingdom before everything disappeared, giving rise to the birth of tall buildings and more technology assisted equipment.

This was one of the reasons why Liam hated the human race. He hated how humans were greedy for power. That was why he was determined to rule the world by supporting politicians and greedy men who wanted power.

Those people didn't know that the ultimate power belonged to him whom had them under his control. Liam stood in front of the stream that overflown and looked at it with a mysterious gaze. He seemed to be in deep thoughts and didn't realize someone was targeting him until a sudden force pushed him against a tree.

Liam hit his back against the tree and groaned in pain. He looked around and yelled. ''Hey! Who the hell is that? Which bastard is tired with living that he would dare me in this manner?''

''That bastard would be me!'' Walden said, walking up to him.

When Liam saw him, he started laughing. ''Assh, you shouldn't be treating your cousin this way, Walden. We are family!''

''You are not my family!'' Walden said aggressively.

''If you say that, you break my heart Walden! We grew up together and even though we have our differences it still doesn't change that fact, right? You shouldn't try family this way because of a woman. A woman that is rightfully mine!'' Liam said and his gaze turned cold. He stood up from the tree and faced Walden.

''The more you try to keep that girl away from me the more I want to take her away, Walden. I get that she has the soul of Kaadie but there is something else you are keeping from me. This girl might be human but she is different. Even you know that as well as everyone else in our world.''

''Stay away from Alison!''

''Alison? I see you two are already on first names huh?'' Liam chuckled sarcastically. ''No! I don't want to stay away from her. No, I won't stay away…'' Liam looked at Walden's face and started laughing. He took a few steps closer to Walden.

''You know… if you hadn't appeared out of nowhere, she would have being mine! I was the one who saw her first. I was the one who was supposed to be her but….'' Liam's voice became a little louder as he spoke. ''You stole her from me and what happened, Walden? What the fuck happened? You got her killed. No! You killed her Walden. That I will never forgive you!'' Liam's eyes became red as he spoke.

''Think whatever you want to make yourself feel better, Liam. I won't repeat myself again. Stay away from Alison and tell those evil spirits that if they don't stay away I will kill all of them if they as much touch Alison's hair!'' Walden said and turned to leave.

''You were late! You knew Asarem wanted her dead but you didn't save her. You were busy fighting a war and left her to die. I would never leave the woman I love for the salvation of others. I will never allow my woman to die while I try to save others.'' Liam walked closer to Walden.

''Do you know the last words of Kaadie? She said, ''where is Walden not here? Walden will definitely come to save me!''

''Those were her words. But you failed her and she died.'' Liam looked at Walden filled with nothing but hatred for him. anytime he remembered what happened to Kaadie, his veins boiled with anger.

He could have saved her. He wanted to save her but the woman was too stubborn for her own good. She didn't want anyone helping her even till her dying moments.

Liam pitied Kaadie more than he pitied his unrequited love for her. If only she had chosen him. He wouldn't have let her die. He would have fought the world to keep her alive!

Walden turned to look at Liam. ''You can keep thinking whatever you want. The next time I come here looking for you, that day you die.'' Walden said and walked away.

''Till the end!'' Liam yelled into air. 'Till the end, you let her down, Walden! I will never forgive you!''

…..

Alison got down from the taxi and saw Walden getting down from his car. She ran up to him.

''Walden, are you just getting off from work?'' Alison asked and Walden turned to look at her.

''It's you!'' Walden said.

''Yes, it's me. who did you think it would be?''

''Nobody in particular.'' Walden looked at the things in her hands and asked. ''Why do you have so many things in your hands?''

''These? I went for grocery shopping to prepare dinner for my boss. The ingredients in his fridge have being there for long. I'm afraid it will affect his health.''

''Not only are you a cleaner, but you are also a cook?'' Walden said casually as they got into the elevator.

''Whoa! You really have a way with words. I am the housekeeper so I take care of these kind of stuff. I get paid to do it, so it doesn't matter.''

''I see…''

Look at the skies, it's a beautiful morning!

Look at the birds, they are chirping.

Look at the sun, it's shining bright!''

Alison started singing and Walden turned to look at her at once. Her voice seemed to overlap with someone else. It was melodious and gave a peaceful ambience.

Walden suddenly held Alison's hand tightly and pulled her closer to him.

''What… what is it?'' Alison asked nervously.

''That song, where did you hear it from?'' Walden asked with a serious expression that scared Alison.

''I… I don't know. Why are you suddenly acting like this?'' Alison asked.

''You don't know?'' Walden asked again.

''Yes, I don't know. It just came to mind and I started singing it. Walden, why are you being like this? You are hurting me.'' Alison said and Walden stepped back. He let go of her hand and turned to the elevator and kept pressing it until it stopped and he ran out.

''Walden?'' Alison called and was about to go after him when the elevator closed.
