Wura walked out of the tent and stood under the canopy as she was hit once more with the extreme unexpected humidity that hit her as soon as she stepped outside.
She was once more reminded of how hot it truly was outside... she had completely forgotten about the hit since the inside of the tent was considerately cooler on the inside, which made her forget of how hot it was outside.
She could already feel herself start to sweat again and she had not even stepped into the sun yet and she was starting to wonder how it is that she and Mero rode all the way here in that kind of sun, she had not even felt that it was this hot at that time.
"Is something wrong?" asked Mero as he stepped out of Wura's tent and he was wondering why she was just standing there.
Wura turned to look at him as she shook her head.
"No, nothing is wrong Mero, I was just waiting for you to lead the way" she said as she smiled at him, she knew he was still upset with her and she did not want to do anything rash like moving on quickly without him because that would only make him more upset, and she had not even had a chance to apologize yet.
"Alright then" said Mero as he said nothing more and walked ahead of Wura. It seemed like he was not going to wait for her.
Wura sighed, if she was not sure that he was upset with her before, he sure was upset now, he was being so cold and she wanted to apologize, she really wanted to, but knowing Mero he was avoiding any chance she got to apologize to him.
It was really childish in her eyes, because she did not mean to hurt him, but she could not blame him, she would act the same if she was in his shoes.
Wura quickly got rid of her thoughts as she hurriedly rushed to catch up with him, he was walking rather fast, she did not know if he was doing that on purpose or if he was not aware that he was. Regardless she made sure to keep up with him at a steady pace.
Wura frowned as the heat from the sun seemed to have hit her full force, she was already starting to sweat an awful lot, and she just found this annoying.
Wura decided to stop thinking of how hot it was and focus on something else, so she turned her attention to the surroundings around them, she felt like she wanted to go on a little adventure around the area and get to see some different things she had not seen before.
After all, this was her first time being in this part of the Kingdom, but she knew that would be asking for a lot from Mero, they were here on official duty and not for her to explore, besides even if she asked Mero if she could explore, she doubted he would agree, her safety was the most important thing at the moment and it would be too dangerous for her to go anywhere alone.
Mero subtly looked back and glanced at Wura, he could see from the way that she was looking around that she wanted to explore, maybe they would be able to do that later, but for now, he could not guarantee that they would.
Mero turned back and focused on walking ahead as Wura turned to look at him in the same moment and she felt as if he wanted to ignore her, it made her feel sad.
Wura sighed internally as she continued to follow him and she could hear the faint sound of children playing and laughing from the camp that was right ahead of them.
The delightful sound made her smile, children were so innocent, even in tough circumstances such as this, they still managed to laugh and live their lives the best way they knew how. She only wished that the parents and elderly were somehow coping with what happened to their lovely town.
She just loved children, she found them so cute and adorable, they were sweet and they had the ability to make even the hardest of hearts change their demeanor towards them. Wura was so engrossed in her thoughts that she did not realize that the ground was getting steeper and rockier that she lost her footing and she would have almost fell and hurt herself badly if not the fact that Mero slowed down to look at her and he caught her right before she fell.
Wura closed her eyes and let out a little scream as she realized that she was suspended in the air and she was being held by some strong pair of hands.
Wura opened her eyes as she looked at Mero who was looking at her in concern.
"Are you alright?" he asked as Wura nodded and Mero set her down on her feet as she made sure that she was steady on her feet.
"You should have been more careful" said Mero.
"Yes I know, I am sorry I was distracted..." said Wura as Mero sighed.
"It is not your fault my Queen... I should have warned you before that the ground was unsteady" said Mero as he was scolding himself internally, how could he not notify her that he ground was rocky, she could have been seriously hurt.
"No it is not your fault Mero, I should have been more careful, I assure you that this will not repeat itself" said Wura as Mero just looked at her.
"I think it would be safer if you walked ahead, and please be careful, mind the rocks" said Mero as Wura nodded and carefully walked ahead as Mero followed closely behind her, just in case she fell again.
"I am fine Mero, I assure you that I will not fall again, you do not have to walk behind me" said Wura as she turned to look at Mero as she continued walking and Mero did not look very convinced of that at all.
"Oh please do not look like that Mero, I am telling you the truth, I will not fall again" said Wura as she continued looking at him and Mero had a feeling that she would fall again.
"Please stop looking back, you might slip again" he said as Wura frowned.
"Okay fine, but please stop walking behind me, walk beside me, it feels strange having you walk behind me" said Wura as Mero moved from following behind her as they walked side by side.
"Thank you" she said as she looked at him and smiled at him as Mero did not reply to her at all, he seemed to be focused on something else.
Wura went back to thinking on how she would find a good way to apologize to Mero, she did not like this cold behaviour of his towards her, it made her feel bad, he was rarely upset with her, she was always the one upset with him, but now that she was the one who he was angry at she did not like it at all.
Maybe it was because she valued his support and friendship more than his loyalty towards the throne or the ruler of Wyverdale, he was her friend, she hoped that he knew that, and if he did not, she wanted to tell him.
But now was not the time, which was why she was wondering when the right time would be.
Wura was suddenly snapped out of her thoughts when she started to hear the faint noises of what sounded like commotion coming from the camp.
Wura frowned, she wondered what all the noise was about, it was not like that an hour ago when they had first arrived, the entire place was calm and peaceful.
Wura looked at Mero, she had not realized how far the camp was from where her tent was set, she had not noticed since they had rode on horses, they made distances seem less far than they really were.
Not to say that she was lazy, but she was just not used to having to walk a lot like this, it would have been better if they rode their horses here like before. She could not remember the last time that she was tired of walking, it had been a while.
She could only say that she walked a great distance while they were back in the Castle. The Castle was huge and she was used to walking great distances in order to get where she wanted to go.
"What is all that noise?" asked Wura in worry as she looked at Mero.
"It is the people, they have been notified that you have arrived" replied Mero as Wura looked at him in disbelief, she could not believe that such a loud commotion of noise would be created all because of her?
