"So how was your journey your Majesty?" asked Wura as she smiled and she took a sip of her tea.
"It was fine" replied Liam as he smiled, the truth was that his journey had been promising, he and Mero had found out some more information on the very serious matter that was going on within the Kingdom.
"I am glad" said Wura as she smiled.
"So how have you been?" asked Liam as he smiled.
"Well good, your Majesty" replied Wura.
"I mean how have you been really?" asked Liam, he knew that she was all smiles and all, but on the inside, she must not have felt very good, just like he did.
"Well if you are referring to everything that has happened over time, then I was not alright" said Wura.
"If it was up to me, I would have not wanted to be Queen" said Wura as she forced a smile.
Liam knew that was the truth, but well she had no other choice, she was his wife, and she was going to be Queen whether she liked it or not, those were just the rules.
"Everyone calling me the Queen, when I do not feel like a Queen at all" said Wura as she sighed.
"But you are" said Liam.
"You are my wife after all" said Liam as he smiled.
"Could I have chosen not to become Queen?" asked Wura as Liam slightly shook his head as he have Wura the reply that she had expected.
"I already knew the answer to that" said Wura as she smiled.
"Lady Marli wants me to take up the duties of the Queen's office" said Wura as she did not know why she was telling him what was on her mind, maybe she needed a second opinion and he was the King after all.
"Alright" said Liam as he smiled.
"What do you think? Should I?" asked Wura as she looked at him.
"Well the choice is yours" said Liam.
"And whatever you decided to do will be fine" said Liam as he smiled.
"I am sure that you are more than capable to do anything that you set your mind to" said Liam as he smiled.
"Would it make me selfish to say that I am afraid of responsibility?" asked Wura.
"No… not at all" said Liam as he smiled, he always admired her honesty.
"Everyone is afraid of responsibility at some point in their lives" said Liam as he smiled.
"Have you ever been afraid of responsibility your Majesty?" asked Wura.
"Well yes, at some point I believe that I have, although I had always been itching to do more" said Liam.
"But do not compare yourself to me, everyone has their own strengths" said Liam.
"I am sure that the Kingdom will be happy to have their Queen carry out her duties" said Liam as he smiled.
"And If you still do not feel at ease, you could consider easing yourself into the Queen's office little by little, and not just all at once" said Liam as he smiled and Wura had to agree that he had a very valid point, she could ease herself into it, maybe starting with solving a few problems and going on from there.
"Thank you for your advice your Majesty… it makes me feel better, I really appreciate it" said Wura as she smiled at Liam, when they were not arguing or, when he was not avoiding her, they actually got along well, very peacefully actually.
"Anytime, I guess we are even now" said Liam as he laughed and Wura laughed.
"I do not think that I can offer you any tangible advice your Majesty" said Wura as she laughed.
"Oh but you do" said Liam as he smiled and he looked into her eyes as she cleared her throat and she looked away, there he went again, why could he not just leave her be, when he started at her like that, she did not feel at ease at all.
Maybe he did not know what he was doing was making her uncomfortable, or maybe she was just over thinking, but one thing was for sure, and that was that she did not want anything to ruin this perfectly fine reunion of theirs.
"I heard about what happened to Elihu in the Great Hall" said Liam.
"Oh that…" said Wura as her voice trailed off, in all honesty, she had already forgotten about that whole incident.
"Thank you for helping Elihu, because I was sure that if you did not solve the matter, it would have turned into a huge problem for the Kingdom" said Liam as he smiled.
"You do not have to thank me your Majesty, I only did as I could" said Wura as she smiled.
"But still thank you" said Liam as he smiled.
"How did you know that Elihu was innocent?" asked Liam as that intrigued him.
"Well believe it or not your Majesty, I saw the innocence in his eyes, he looked just as confused as I was" said Wura.
"And you stood up for him?" asked Liam as he smiled.
"Well it was not like he was the nicest person to me, but he did not deserve to be forced to father a child that is not even his" said Wura, she believed in justice, no one deserved to be forced to pay for sins that they did not commit.
"And besides, he is one of your trusted men, and the people would think ill of him, which should not be so" said Wura.
"You have good judgement" said Liam as he smiled.
"I do try to, your Majesty" said Wura as Liam smiled at her, he did not notice just how much he had missed hearing her voice and seeing her, her soft delicate voice was melodic in his ears, he thought that he could listen to her speak for hours.
"And you try well" said Liam as he smiled.
Wura did not know why, but she just felt so calm and at peace when he is here with her, and his smile… well his smile could kill those that were faint of heart, she did not know if she was merely admiring him or if it was something more.
"I see that you have added a few things to your room" said Liam as he smiled and he looked around.
"Well yes your Majesty, it is my room after all, and I wanted to be comfortable in it" said Wura as she smiled.
"Besides, I did not think that it was fair for you to have a couch in your room, while there was none in mine" said Wura as she laughed.
"I did not think that you were envious of me" said Liam as he laughed.
"It is not envy your Majesty, just merely be expressing my opinion" said Wura as she laughed.
"I cannot argue with that" said Liam as he laughed and Wura laughed as well.
"So how is everything going with your paintings?" asked Liam as he smiled, at least that was one thing about her that he knew she loved to do.
"Ahh well they are going great your Majesty" said Wura as she smiled.
"I am currently working on a painting of Nora, and then another one of the landscape" said Wura as she smiled and Liam could not help but smile, the way her eyes lit up when she spoke about the paintings she was working on just made him happy, he was sure that he had made the right choice when he decided to gift her paints.
"May I see them once you are done?" asked Liam as he smiled.
"Of course, you do not even need to ask your Majesty" said Wura as she laughed.
"Alright then" said Liam as he smiled.
"How about you make a painting of me?" asked Liam as he smiled and his question caught Wura off guard.
"Ahh… well no your Majesty no…" said Wura as she stuttered and she hesitated.
"No?" asked Liam.
"No, I mean yes… what I mean is…" said Wura as Liam watched her in amusement.
"I cannot possibly capture your essence in the best way your Majesty" said Wura as she finally got all her thoughts together.
"Oh really now?" asked Liam as he smiled, he wondered what she meant by that.
"Well yes your Majesty, I mean, your features are sharp but soft, you have a lovely smile, and well I just think that a professional painter would be more well suited to do a painting of you your Majesty" said Wura as she was not listening to herself right now.
Liam smiled, did she just indirectly call him handsome?? So she did think that he was handsome, this was the first time she had ever said anything about his look.
"So you are saying that I am too handsome for you to capture?" asked Liam as he smiled.
"Yes… No… I mean… did I say that you were handsome?" asked Wura as she did not know why she was so flustered; she did not think that she had called him handsome.
"You did not directly say it, but you did imply it" said Liam as he smiled slyly at her.
"Your Majesty, please do not put words in my mouth" said Wura as now she was annoyed, Liam had overstayed his welcome, she never said he was handsome, and that was not because he was not handsome, but because she did not want to encourage his cheekiness.
"So you are saying that I am ugly?" asked Liam as he smiled.
"Your Majesty, you are the King, and I cannot say anything offensive to you, I should be careful with my words, you are not ugly, but to some, they might consider you handsome" said Wura.
"And to you?" asked Liam as he smiled.
"I do agree that you are attractive, but I do not care for your looks at all" said Wura as she was relieved that she had found a way not to state that she really did think he was handsome, he would hold it on her head if she did.
"You always know just what to say Wura" said Liam as he smiled.
"I do try your Majesty" said Wura as she forced a smile, she was trying her best not to frown, just then, there was a knock on the door.
"Come in" said Wura as she thought that maybe Nora had finally returned, but to her surprise it was not Nora who walked into the room, but a young guard.
"Greetings my King, Greetings my Queen" said the young guard as he bowed down to the ground in front of Liam and Wura, and they both looked at each other as they looked back at the guard.
"Rise" said Liam.
"My King, My Queen, I am sorry to disturb you, but there is a matter that concerns his Majesty" said the guard as he rose up, it was news in the Palace that the King had gone to meet the Queen, and that they were having tea together, even though it did not seem like it, Liam and Wura were always being watched by people.
"Do tell me what the matter is" said Liam as the guard nodded and he stepped in front of Liam as he whispered in Liam's ear.
"I see" said Liam as the guard stepped back.
"Yes my King" said the guard as he nodded his head.
"Thank you for informing me, you may go now" said Liam.
"Yes my King" said the guard as he nodded his head.
"Please forgive me for interrupting you once again my Queen" said the guard as he turned to look at Wura and she smiled at him as he took his leave and he closed the door behind him.
"Is something the matter your Majesty?" asked Wura as she turned to look at Liam.
"Well nothing serious" replied Liam.
"But I will need to take my leave now" said Liam.
"That is alright your Majesty, I understand" said Wura as she smiled.
"Would you like to come with me?" asked Liam as he looked at Wura.
"Ahh… well…" said Wura as she was caught off guard, she did not expect him to ask her, and the question was where was he going exactly??
"Your Majesty, where are you going exactly?" asked Wura.
"There is a guest that needs to be received, and I would like it if you came along with me" said Liam as he smiled.
"Ah… well…Your Majesty" said Wura as she seemed to be thinking, well she had nothing important doing here, and Nora was yet to return, and well if Liam was asking her to go along with him, then that meant that the guest was an important person then, and he would like her to be there with him.
"Alright Your Majesty… I will go with you" said Wura.
"Thank you" said Liam as he smiled and he stood up.
"Shall we?" asked Liam as he stretched out his hand to her.
"I do not think that is necessary your Majesty" said Wura as she smiled and she stood up as she politely declined his offer, they did not need to hold hands, in fact, they never held hands before.
"Alright then Wura" said Liam as he smiled and he walked as she followed after him.
