Chereads / Betrothed To The Prince / Chapter 202 - Unmeasurable

Chapter 202 - Unmeasurable

Wura followed quietly behind Liam, she was in her own thoughts, she wondered who had arrived that even Liam himself would go to receive him and carry her along with him as well.

It was in the middle of her thoughts it was then that Wura realized that it had been a long time since she and Liam had walked together, but not together, together, what she meant was that, it was the first time in a long time that she was back to walking behind him as he was a fast walker, although he seemed to have slowed down his steps, she did not know if it was intentional, or unintentional.

"Just what is wrong with you Wura? Think straight" said Wura to herself as she scolded herself mentally, she did not know what was wrong with her, she was thinking way too much, especially when it came to Liam.

Whenever she was with Liam, her thoughts were always so crowded, and when she was not with him, it was still the same story, her thoughts would be also all about him as well, she was fed up with herself, she was being too much.

She was sure that Liam did not think of her the same way she thought of him, and that thought made her relieved but at the same time sad.

Wura was so buried in her thoughts that she did not realize that Liam had stopped in front of particular door that she had not seen before, Wura snapped out of her thoughts as she realized that she had not been to this part of the Castle before, she was wondered just where they were.

But before Wura could ask a question, Liam opened the door and he walked into the room, as Wura had no other choice but to follow him as well.

Wura looked around the room, it was nicely, and simply decorated, it felt quiet and peaceful, but Wura was brought back to reality when she heard a voice of a man call out to Liam.

"Liam my boy" came the voice of a brown-haired man as he smiled and he stood up as he looked at Liam, his brown eyes were shining as he had a very happy smile on his face.

"Uncle Nigel" said Liam as he smiled and he hugged the man as the man hugged him and patted him on the back.

Wura was surprised to say the least, she had not seen Liam hug anyone before, but well, she believed that he would have hugged his father, but then it was brought to Wura's attention that Liam had called this man his Uncle, so was he his uncle?

"How have you been Liam?" asked the man named Nigel as he smiled.

"I have been well Uncle" said Liam as he smiled and he broke their hug as he stepped back.

"Uncle, please meet my wife" said Liam as he smiled and he introduced Nigel to Wura, as Wura snapped out of her many thoughts.

"Ahhh my Queen, it is a pleasure to finally be graced with your presence" said Nigel as he smiled and he bowed down to the ground which caught Wura by surprise.

"Please rise… that is not necessary at all" said Wura as she smiled sheepishly, she did not feel at ease when people bowed down to her, and especially when the elderly did that, she was more than in discomfort, she was always taught to respect her elders, and not the other way around.

"No my Queen, please let me kneel" said Nigel.

"But I insist please stand" said Wura as she smiled.

"Thank you my Queen" said Nigel as he smiled he stood up.

"My Queen, I am Nigel Engelwish, It is a pleasure to finally meet you" said Nigel as he smiled and he looked at Wura, she really was beautiful.

"Diiwura Lily Scot, it is a pleasure to meet you as well" said Wura as she smiled and Liam had an indescribable look on his face.

"This is my Uncle Nigel" said Liam as he smiled.

"Uncle??" asked Wura in surprise as she looked at Liam, she had never heard him mention if he had any Uncles or Aunts.

"Yes my Uncle" said Liam as he smiled.

"He is my mother's younger brother" said Liam.

"Ahh… I see" said Wura as she finally understood.

He was Royal Duke Nigel Engelwish, the only man in the Kingdom who had that title, it was specifically reserved for him, seeing as he was the only brother of the late Queen Vivian of Wyverdale.

"Yes my Queen" said Nigel as he replied.

"I do apologize for only meeting you now" said Nigel.

"And also for missing your wedding, I was severely ill at the time and I could not make the journey down" said Nigel as he explained.

"Oh that is alright…" said Wura as she did not know what to refer to Nigel as, he was Liam' uncle, and she was Liam's wife, so did that not mean that he was her uncle too.

"There is no need for you to be sorry Uncle Nigel, a man can trade nothing for his health" said Wura as she smiled and Liam smiled, he loved that she had addressed his Uncle as her Uncle as well.

"You are right about that my Queen" said Nigel as he smiled.

"I surely do hope that you are better now" said Wura as she smiled.

"Thank you my Queen, I am" said Nigel as he smiled, he could tell that Wura was a very nice woman, she was sweet, considerate, and most of all kind.

"I am glad" said Wura as she smiled.

"I still do owe you a wedding gift my Queen" said Nigel as he smiled.

"That is alright Uncle Nigel, there is no need to get me a gift" said Wura as she smiled, she and Liam had been married for three months now, so a late wedding gift would not be necessary at all.

"No my Queen, there is need, you are family, and you are also the Queen" said Nigel as he smiled and Wura smiled at him, she noticed that he was a gentle, tender eyed man, one who did not like trouble at all.

"Oh Liam, my condolences on your Father's passing" said Nigel as he remembered, the death of his brother in law really hurt him, it was unexpected, and worst of all he was not able to attend the Coronation of his nephew, he lived at the edge of the kingdom, and it was often a tedious journey to come to the capital of Wyverdale.

"Oh Uncle Nigel, he really wanted to see you before his death, as if he had known that he would go soon" said Liam as he sighed.

"If I had known that it would be that soon, I would have journeyed down here regardless of the weather" said Nigel as he sighed.

"Alaric was more than a brother to me, his kindness towards my family was unmeasurable" said Nigel as he smiled.

"And he loved your mother, my sister, more than anyone else in the Kingdom" said Nigel as he smiled and Liam smiled, and Wura could not help but smile.

"My Queen, I am sure that Alaric was very kind to you" said Nigel as he looked at Wura.

"More than kind… he accepted me as part of the family from the first day… he was a father to all" said Wura as she smiled and Nigel smiled at her.

"Please pardon me for asking my Queen, but that pendant…" said Nigel as he noticed the gold heart shaped pendant around Wura's neck as Wura looked down at the pendant and she held it in her hand.

"Ahh… well his Majesty gifted it to me… I heard that it was her Late Majesty's pendant" said Wura as she explained and Nigel smiled, he could recognize that pendant from anywhere, even if he was blind, that was his sister's favourite piece of jewellery, she never took it off.

"Yes it was" said Nigel as he smiled.

"It was the betrothal gift bestowed on my sister from his Majesty" said Nigel as he smiled.

"She never took it off" said Nigel as he smiled.

"He must have been really fond of you for him to give it to you" said Nigel as he smiled at Wura and she smiled at him, she did not know just how much history and love that this piece of jewellery had, it made her proud to have been bestowed it as a gift.

"Alaric was a lover, and I am not sure of my nephew over here is the same" said Nigel as he laughed.

"Oh Uncle" said Liam as he laughed.

"My Queen, if he does misbehave, you can feel free to report him to me" said Nigel as he laughed.

"I will take you up on that offer Uncle Nigel" said Wura as she laughed and she looked at Liam, now she had someone to report him to.

"Uncle, how long will you be staying for?" asked Liam as he looked at Nigel and he smiled.

"Well for a few days, I hope" said Nigel as he smiled.

"Please stay for longer Uncle" said Wura as she smiled, she would like to get to know more about Liam's family, the only family member of Liam that Wura knew was Alaric, but now that Nigel was here, she wanted him to stay, it was usually always boring in the Castle.

"Oh well, now that you ask my Queen, I will" said Nigel as he laughed and Wura smiled, Nigel was happy that Wura treated him like her own Uncle, she was already part of the family.

"Well I will need to leave you now Uncle, there are still some things that I need to do" said Liam as he smiled.

"I will see you at dinner, and please feel at home" said Liam as he smiled.

"I will Liam, see you at dinner" said Nigel as he smiled.

"Are you staying?" asked Liam as he smiled and he turned to look at Wura.

"Ah… well no… I also have to take my leave now" said Wura as she smiled, she wanted to let Nigel rest, he did say that it was a long journey down from where he was coming from, so he needed to rest.

"Alright my Queen" said Nigel as he smiled.

"Please take care, and rest well Uncle Nigel" said Wura as she smiled.

"I will, and thank you my Queen, see you at dinner" said Nigel as he smiled.

"See you" said Wura as she smiled, they were all going to have dinner together, she was happy, as of late she had been eating dinner all by herself, and she would often ask Nora to join her, since she always watched her eat, but Nora would refuse, and she would call it a taboo, and all.

Liam smiled as he walked out of the room, and Wura followed after him, she was going to go back to her room, hopefully, Nora should have returned by now.

"Shall I escort you back?" asked Liam as he smiled and he turned to look at Wura.

"Ahhh, well no your Majesty, that is not necessary" said Wura as she smiled.

"Alright then, see you at dinner Wura" said Liam as he smiled.

"See you your Majesty" said Wura as she smiled and Liam walked away, as she returned to the direction of her room.

It was dinner time, and Wura was walking to the dining room, she had not seen Nora all day, and she did not know who to ask to look for Nora for her.

Wura was about to enter the dining room, when she noticed that Liam was already there… he was sitting in his usual spot, and he left Alaric's place on the dining table untouched, in respect for him.

Wura walked into the dining room as she sat in her usual spot as well, which sadly happened to be beside Liam, Nigel had yet to arrive, which meant that Liam and Wura were the only ones in the dining room at this point in time.

"Good Evening your Majesty" said Wura as she smiled.

"Good Evening Wura" said Liam as he looked at her and he smiled, he did not know why, but it felt good for them to be sitting on the same dining table again, just like old times, he did not even realize that he had missed those old times so much.

There was silence once again… waiting for Nigel was tiring, there was nothing else left for them to say to one another, it would seem that she forgot just how awkward things were between she and Liam.

"Wyverdale" said Liam as he cleared his throat.

"What was that your Majesty?" asked Wura as she did not quite hear him clearly.

"Your last name is Wyverdale, it is no longer Scot" said Liam as he looked at her.

"Ah…" said Wura as she realized what he was saying, Liam did not know why it irked him so when Wura introduced herself with her Father's last name, she was no longer a Scot, but a Wyverdale, he wondered if she was not proud of being his wife.

"Sorry your Majesty…" said Wura as she did not even know what she was apologizing for, it was a habit for herself to introduce herself like that, that was her last name, or at least it used to be.

"No need to be sorry" said Liam as he smiled, he did think that he was overreacting.

"Oh Liam, my Queen, please forgive me for being late" said Nigel as he smiled and he walked into the dining room.

"No need for that Uncle, we did not wait long" said Liam as he smiled and his Uncle sat across him as he smiled.

"Yes, his Majesty Is right Uncle, we did not wait long" said Wura as she smiled.

"Oh thank you my Queen" said Nigel as he smiled.

"Shall we begin?" asked Liam as he smiled and Nigel smiled.

"Of course" said Nigel as he smiled, he loved that he was having dinner with his nephew and his wife, he was happy to be with his family once again, he had been alone for so long, his only regret was that he had not been able to see Alaric one last time.

"Alright then" said Liam as he smiled as they began to eat.

Dinner was calm, Nigel and Liam would talk between each other, and well Wura would just focus on her food since she did not know what was going on, although Nigel tried to carry her along.

Wura sighed as she walked into her room and she fell down flat on her bed with a groan, when she heard the door of her room open and she looked up to see who it was.

"Nora, where have you been all day??" asked Wura as she looked at Nora who just walked into her room.
