"Are you alright" said Liam as he looked at Wura as he noticed that she was awfully quiet.
"Your highness…" said Wura as she looked up at Liam as he called out to her.
"When you say greet the people… what exactly do you mean?" asked Wura as she was nervous, she had never heard of anything like this before.
"Reply to their well wishes, accept their gifts, and most of all treat them with kindness, but I am sure that you will be fine" said Liam as he smiled, he found it cute that she was nervous.
"I see" said Wura as she seemed to be thinking, sure she was the daughter of a duke, and she had attended some social gatherings before, but she would often stay out of the limelight, she would not like attention on herself at all, so she usually just got on with the pleasantries and retreated to an area where no one would find her.
"Yes" said Liam as he smiled and forced a smile.
…
"His highness seems to be really in love with the princess" said the maid as she was cleaning the kitchen.
"What do you mean?" asked the other maid as she was washing the pots.
"Do you not see, he purposefully sent us away because he wanted to be alone with the princess" said the maid that was cleaning.
"Well that is only normal, they are husband and wife after all, and they might have needed to be alone" said the maid as she smiled, she found Love between couples a very sweet thing.
"High highness was very deep in desire that he did not even consider what he was saying" said the maid as she laughed.
"He lost all reason, he even forgot to consider on who would do the cooking, cleaning, and all the Castle work if we were gone" said the maid as she laughed.
"Well you have nothing to complain about, we did to go home after months and months of serving in this Castle, so I did enjoy that we got sent home" said the maid as she smiled.
"Well I do have to agree with you, I was overjoyed that we were sent home" said the other maid as she smiled.
"Oh which reminds me, have you heard?" asked the maid.
"Heard about what?" asked the other maid in confusion.
"Well the people have been informed of his highness and the Princess's arrival" said the maid.
"So the Castle will not be quiet at all today" said the maid.
"Ahh, I see, what a shame" said the other maid as she replied.
"I have been getting rather used to the quietness" said the maid as she sighed.
"Oh you know how the people are, we love the Prince and the Princess, and we only want to send them our well wishes" said the maid as she smiled.
"I am sure you are right about that" said the maid.
"Besides, it is not every day that the Prince and his new bride come to Cornwalk, so it truly is an occasion to be celebrated" said the maid.
"I heard that in the days of her late Majesty Queen Vivian, she loved the land of Cornwalk so much, to the point that she even threw an annual festival every spring, seeing as she just loved it when they bloomed just before summer began" said the maid as she smiled.
"I also heard from my parents, they said that those were the best days of the kingdom, even though his highness does have a special place for Cornwalk in his heart, but it still does not compare to those days" said the maid as she laughed.
"I believe we better stop talking, we have many things to do" said the maid as she dried her hands with a cloth quickly.
"I believe you are right" said the maid as she finished cleaning the kitchen.
…
"Since there will be many people around, the guards will stay very close" said Liam as he explained.
"But not to worry, they are only there as a safety measure, nothing really dangerous happens" said Liam as he wanted to put Wura's heart at ease.
"I see" said Wura as she looked at Liam, she knew he was trying his best to make her feel more relaxed, but she just could not be.
"Believe me you will be alright" said Liam as he smiled and he drank his tea, he was always scared at his first Royal gathering, but well his father told him that he should not be, because there would be many more of them in the future, and that he should brace up and be brave, because he was a Prince.
"If you say so" said Wura as she sighed.
"Just relax, if you smile in the lovely way you always do, you will be alright" said Liam as he smiled.
"Alright then…" said Wura as she was trying to brace herself, and in that moment it was as if she began to hear chants coming from in front of the Castle.
"What is that?" asked Wura as she turned to look at Lia, she hoped that she was not just hearing things.
"They are chanting" said Liam as he smiled.
"Who?" asked Wura as she was very confused.
"The people" said Liam as he smiled, they were welcoming them, to be honest, they did this sooner than he had expected, he thought that it would take longer, but it would seem that news travelled very fast.
"There must be many of them" said Wura, because those chants sounded like the joined voiced of many people, and Wura started to become scared.
"They must have all come straight to the Castle" said Liam as he smiled.
"My Prince, the people are outside" came the voice of a guard as he rushed into the dining room and he bowed in front of Liam.
"That is alright, you may go" said Liam as he smiled and the guard nodded his head as he stood up and he walked out of the dining room.
"Are you done eating breakfast?" asked Liam as he turned to look at Wura and he smiled as she nodded her head, she had lost her appetite, how could she eat when she felt so uneasy, the chants of the people outside filled her eyes, she could tell that they were great in number for their voices to be so loud.
"Alright then, shall we go and greet the people?" asked Liam as he smiled, he knew that Wura was scared, but the only way for her to face her fears was for her to go out there.
"Are we going to go out there??" asked Wura in surprise, she was not scared of crowds, but this was something else entirely.
"Well not immediately, we will go and greet the people from the balcony first, and then we will go down to meet them" said Liam as he smiled.
"Alright… I see" said Wura as she sighed.
"It will be alright" said Liam as he smiled and he stood up from the dining table.
"Come" said Liam as he stretched out his hand to Wura's and she stood up as she walked around the dining table as she took Liam's hand.
"Everything will be alright" said Liam as he smiled, he wanted to laugh because she just looked so cute when she was nervous, but he was sure that if he did, he would only make her feel even worse than she already felt.
"Alright then" said Wura as she nodded her head and she held her breath as she followed after Liam as he held her hand, she felt like a little child, but she just could not help but feel uneasy, this was something she had never done before.
"Just smile, and everything will be fine Wura, believe me" said Liam as he smiled before he paused in front of two double doors and all Wura could do was nod her head and Liam smiled at her once again before he opened the doors, and they stepped onto the balcony together hand in hand.
Wura looked down, she could see the crowds of people that were gathered to see them, and they all sang together, it was not that Wura noticed how truly harmonic all their chants sounded together, like the gentle sound of a harp, the sound of the chants had increased as Liam smiled at the people, this was what he loved most about his Kingdom, the sheer unity, support and respect that the people had for them as their leaders.
It made him want to serve more, want to do more for them, to make their lives better as people of Wyverdale, if someone was to ask what drove him, he would say the adoration of his people, who had put their lives in his hands, and in his father's hands, they trusted them with all their heart.
