Chereads / Betrothed To The Prince / Chapter 6 - Who is She?

Chapter 6 - Who is She?

The Sun rose from the east, and it's faint light warmed up the Kingdom of Wvyverdale.

All the Maidens had been returned home safely and all they could do was to hope that the Prince took a fancy to them and would summon for them, but little did they know that the Prince's decision has already been decided.

Within the Castle walls everyone was busy as usual, the maids cleaned every corner of the Castle, the Chefs were preparing Breakfast, and Liam was about on his way to the Church, he needed to find our more about a Certain someone.

"Good Morrow Your Highness" greeted Maids as they bowed when Liam Passed through.

Liam had heard too many "Good Morrows" he had grown weary of answering to them so he just nodded his head or waved.

He finally made his way to the private quarters of the King, some guards were on duty and they stood in front of the King's door, he waved off the guards and they made way for him.

Liam walked into the room, his Father was awake and he laid motionlessly on the bed, as if in deep thought.

"Good Morrow Father, how are you doing?" asked Liam as he knelt down by the side of the Father's bed.

"Ahh Liam my boy, I am well" replied Alaric as he smiled brightly.

"Father I have marvelous news" said Liam

"Well what is it my boy?" asked Alaric, he was curious to what would have made his usually quiet son so elated.

"I have found a wife" he replied

"Ahh my boy, took you long enough, who is the Maiden??" asked Alaric with a smile on his face.

"Well Father I really have no idea, but I will enquire from the Church as I have some duties to carry out there" said Liam

"Okay my boy, go enquire more about your betrothed" replied Alaric

"I will Father... she has the most delightful name" replied Liam

"Really?? Do tell" said Alaric

"Her name is Diwura" he replied

"Diwura, what a lovely name" replied Alaric

"Yes Father" said Liam

"Father I must not dally any further, lest she be taken away from me" replied Liam

"Then go my boy and May God be with thee" replied Alaric

And with that Liam was on his way to the Church.

In the Town, the winter had taken it's course, snow covered everywhere and most families were in their homes warming up from fires and telling stories.

Liam was wearing bear skin fur coat, his dark hair was left messy and the size of the coat made him look more intimidating.

The Horse he was riding on stopped in front of the Church and got down and led his trusty stead to one of the Guards that was standing in front of the Church, the guard bowed to him and he acknowledged him.

The Church was beautiful, the snow had covered the entire structure, it was made out of the strongest bricks and it had a gothic style feeling to it.

In the Summer time it was usually covered all around with flowers which made the Church look more serene.

The Church was the oldest Structure in all of Wyverdale, it was built when Wyverdale broke off to the Mortal world. (But more of that in the future)

"Good Morrow Prince Liam" said a Monk as he saw Liam enter, his head was shaved and he wore a brown cloak and he looked old.

"Ah Good Morrow Prince Liam" said the Monk

"Good Morrow Bartholomew, how are you?" asked Liam

"God Save you my Prince" said the Monk as he bowed

"No no rise up Bartholomew, this is not necessary" said Liam

"No but it is my Prince, Thank you for honoring your humble servant" he replied as he stopped bowing

"Now then what brings my Prince to the Church?" asked Bartholomew

"I am in dire need to enquire about a certain someone from the scribes" said Liam

"Ahh no trouble my Prince i am at your service please follow me" said Bartholomew

Liam followed happily behind him and before long they reached the Library of the Church.

It was a very large Library filled with different types of books and there was a man sitting on a desk he seemed to be writing something but he stopped what he was doing as soon as he saw Bartholomew.

"Brother Bartholomew, My Prince" bowed the man as he saw them approaching

Liam was a tall man and easily stood out in the crowd, his features were undeniably remarkable, he really did deserve to be the Prince.

"Brother Edmund, the Prince here requires your assistance" said Bartholomew

"My Prince I am your humble servant" bowed Edmund

"No no rise, please rise" said Liam

"My Prince I shall leave you two alone" said Bartholomew as he bowed and he went to the door.

"Thank You Bartholomew I shall see you before I go on my way" said Liam and with that Bartholomew left the Library.

"My Prince what do you enquire of me? just say it and I will do so" said Edmund

"Hold on Edmund please take your seat" said Liam as he sat down and so did Edmund

"Now I enquire of thee a certain maiden" said Liam

"Oh My Prince, No problem, do you know her name?" asked Edmund

"Yes, yes I do... Her name is Diwura Lily Scot" he replied

"Diwura? Diwura?" murmured Edmund as he looked like he was trying to remember someone particular

"Ah yes the Scots" replied Edmund

"Oh you know her?" asked Liam

Edmund stood up and made his way to some files he seemed to be looking for something.

"Ahh yes here it is" he said as he took out some parchments.

"I knew her name was familiar" he said

"Yes the Scots are one of the duke families" said Edmund

"Hmm from one of the Duke Families?" said Liam

"Yes Sire they have been serving the Throne since their third generation" replied Edmund.

"Captivating" said Liam to himself.

"Lady Diwura Scot... we will meet soon" said Liam to himself.
