Chapter 1 - 10 People

"Welcome, people of earth!" a blinding light rang through the surroundings as 10 figures appeared in a decagon.

"I am Grace, the goddess who brought you all here. Before you all start screaming, let me explain. I've brought you here as this world is in need of assistance from divine forces. In this universe there are monsters called World Enders that are spread throughout most of the universe, and as their name suggests, they devour worlds and strip them bare of any form of life. To combat these World Enders the gods of different worlds rallied together to form a unified force against the vicious beasts. However, even then the number of gods are too little compared to the vast number of worlds that the World Enders are close to devouring so instead, the gods decided to appoint people to planets without a high enough defensive power to strengthen the planet against the World Enders. This is one of such planets. To begin, you will all be judged and appointed a role in the form of a system that guides you while also giving you levels of power far beyond anyone else on this planet. The selection process shall now begin" The Goddess spoke fluently as if she had said it hundred of times before.

Once she was done talking, a vibrant golden light descended onto one of the 10 figures as if he was within a spotlight. With that spotlight, the restriction that the Goddess had placed on their mouths had been lifted as a cacophony of shouts rang out as soon as they could feel control of their mouths return.

"What the fuck is this?" the figure in the golden spotlight shouted first as he tried to move out of the light but couldn't budge.

"Oi, youngster! Stop this prank and let me go back home! I'll call the police if you continue this farce!" an old man nearing 80 shouted at the Goddess as he leaned on his cane.

"This is not a prank. You are no longer on Earth but are now on the planet of W-97351. The civilisation within this world is too low level to name the planet but one of you can if you manage to conquer the world by yourselves." The Goddess answered as the old man was about to threaten her with the police again but the Goddess could see this as she blocked his mouth again.

"Hey, Goddess, what is this golden light?" the man in the golden spotlight asked as he couldn't really feel anything different from it.

"That is the light of selection. You are currently in the selection process of your role." Grace answered succinctly as the golden light began to gather and form into a symbol above the mans head.

"Congratulations for completing the selecting process and being assigned a role. Your role is the [Sea King]!" a voice that wasn't Grace's resounded out. It was a computerised voice that sounded like a smooth A.I.

The golden spotlight then moved one person to the right as a young woman was illuminated. The woman had a tall figure with sharp features and a face that was worthy of being an A-class model. The light began to shine on her as the previous man was left with a golden trident above his head that glowed dimly, showing of his body for the remaining 10 to see him. The young woman then asked a question too.

"What is the criteria for being selected for a role?" The woman asked with a sharp tone, realising that the Goddess was only letting them ask one question each and not wanting to waste it.

"I don't know. The criteria to be selected to be brought here and for being given a certain role are all decided by the Origin Processor. Only the highest level Gods know the secrets behind this. I, unfortunately, am just an overseer who is here to complete this tutorial and then regularly check in while you guys do your thing." Grace answered as the light gradually formed into a large sword above the young woman.

"Congratulations for completing the selecting process and being assigned a role. Your role is the [Hero]!" the computerised voice rang out again as the spotlight shifted once more to the right and illuminating another young woman.

This woman had much softer features and had a bubbly aura around her. She had a similarly A-class face but was more aptly described as cute whereas the previous woman would be described as cool. The woman didn't seem like she had a question so she stayed silent as the light above her formed into a large scythe.

"Congratulations for completing the selecting process and being assigned a role. Your role is the [Demon King]!"

Next was a young teen boy with frizzled hair and an unkempt appearance. He asked nothing too as the light above him condensed into a bottle. He was given the role of [Alchemist King]. After him was a middle aged man with long hair tied up in a knot with a short but full beard on his chin in the shape of a goatee. He was appointed as the [Archer King]. Then was a young girl seemingly only 8 or 9 years old that had blonde pigtails and an anxious expression. She had asked Grace if she could go home and Grace had responded that it was possible if one became strong enough to travel between worlds. In the end, the girl was appointed as the [Mage King]

Next was the old man who was screaming at the beginning as the light above him gathered into the form of a hammer on an anvil. The old man heard the words of the AI appointing him as the [Blacksmith King] as he began shaking greatly before collapsing on the ground. The old man was having a heart attack on the spot! The 9 people watched on with wide eyes as the old man rapidly perished. Even Grace was in utter shock as to what had just happened.

"Wow, no one has ever died during the selection process before. Well it was strange to begin with that such an old man nearing the end of his lifespan was even selected in the first place but to think he would have a heart attack at the thought of being a blacksmith." Grace murmured to herself but the 9 people heard it all clearly.

"W-what happens to him now? Aren't you a god, can't you help him?" a middle aged woman who was the next person who bathed in the golden light asked with urgency.

"There's no point. The old man was already at the end of his lifespan while the shock from this situation brought him over the edge. He's gone." Grace answered as the light above the woman formed into a hoe, the role being the [Farmer King].

"Then what happens to his role? Do we not have a [Blacksmith King] anymore?" the next person after her asked. This person was another young woman but she had peculiar pink blond hair that highlighted her amethyst eyes. She sparkled under the spotlight and overshadowed both of the [Hero] and [Demon King].

"The Origin Processor will do as it sees fit. I may have to bring another person in to take his place or maybe one of you will be given his role." Grace answered as succinctly as ever as the light above the pink haired girl materialised into a pair of golden wings, the AI announcing her as the [Saintess].

The light then shifted to the final figure to be illuminated as a young man appeared in the golden light. The young man had sharp eyes with a scar running across his right eye and down his cheek. He was toned with enough muscle definition that his baggy hoodie couldn't hide it. His hair was black and his beard was short. The light above him was beginning to condense as he decided to ask his question.

"These World Enders... When will they arrive?" the man asked as a fierce glint shined in his deep inky eyes.

"100 years from now. You will have that time to prepare the planet for their arrival." Grace answered as the light finished condensing above the young man.

The light formed into a large crown that outshone all the symbols in the hall but soon enough the symbol began to change as a figure of a man donned the crown and sat on top of an anvil. He wielded a hammer in his left hand and a glaive in his right as a fire burned behind his figure.

"Congratulations for completing the selecting process and being assigned a role. Your role has been upgraded due to the circumstances. Your new role is [Emperor of Fire and War]!"
