"Follow it, let's see where it leads." He said calmly.
Fillip nodded and signaled for the big mole to come back, then moved a few steps back and watched it start digging once again. The three brothers all quietly watched in anticipation as the mole quickly dug around the root going deeper deeper into the ground.
After a few minutes however they soon noticed a problem. As the mole kept on digging the root was becoming too big and too thick! It was starting to take up the whole tunnel so they had no choice but to have the mole start digging underneath the root instead. Eventually the root became so large the visible part above them was only a small piece of the large plant but they continued following it patiently.
Unfortunately the Root wasn't the only thing becoming bigger. The cracks around the root itself were also becoming thicker and bigger to the point where the mole had to take more time and spend more energy to be able to cover them so everyone could keep on moving.
Another hour passed and the anticipation on the faces of the three were now gone and in its place was nervousness and worry. The deeper they went in the more energy the bird and the moth had to use up to renew the air and they were now starting to become visibly tired . The mole was also quickly running out of energy as it continued to dig and reinforce the walls as the cracks became larger, even so it couldn't completely fix them as small cracks were still left running around the tunnel.
"Brothers our beasts are pretty tired. I think we should go back and try again another day. Look how many cracks are on the walls, your mole doesn't even have enough energy to keep the walls and floor smooth anymore. Also I'm pretty sure I heard some cracking noises coming from underneath." Daniel said while looking at the ground nervously.
"Don't worry we are really close! It shouldn't be too far now" Fellipe answered without even looking back as he paid close attention to the hole the mole was digging but at a much slower pace.
"Really?! How far is it? Wait … How do you know?" Daniel asked suspiciously.
Fellipe then turned around and while looking straight into his eyes he answered seriously. "Oh, it's because … Because I have faith." He responded with a smile on his face.
Daniel's face started to slowly get red as he tried to hold back but in the end he charged Fellipe while screaming "You bastard!"
However, just when he had taken two steps he heard a loud cracking sound coming from all around him and instantly froze in place.
The three brothers looked at each other with wide eyes in shock and even the three beasts had completely stopped moving.
The older brother in the back then started to speak softly "Ok, everyone lets just calmly walk back, and try and make sure to not make any su-"
*CRACK*
"AHHHHHH!"
The ground suddenly broke open as the Three men and the three beasts fell through instantly.
Fortunately the large crack they fell into wasn't a straight drop down and was instead at a steep angle which made them start sliding down at an incredible speed.
There were many jagged rocks and obstacles in the way but fortunately the big mole was at the front and it used its power to smooth out the ground as well as it could as it slid past. Too bad their speed was too fast and not only could it not make a place for them to hold on to but it was only able to turn the jagged parts as smooth as it could which ended up becoming small jumps for the three unfortunate humans that were sliding down right behind him.
The moth and bird were right behind everyone trying their best just to keep up with them.
Fellipe was right behind the mole and while at first he was screaming after a few minutes his screams now had some laughter thrown in randomly.
Daniel was the third and due to his smaller body the jumps made him fly much higher than everyone else and he was also screaming the loudest.
Lastly their older brother Mathew who had an anxious look in his eyes was sliding down quietly while paying his full attention at what was coming at the front using the small amount of light the Moth gave them as it was still flying behind them with the bird.
This giant slide actually went so far down that the three slid for over 2 hours before they reached a relatively flat area where they could finally get a hold of themselves with the help of the beasts.
When the three finally stopped moving they all looked horrible. Their whole body was covered in dirt and even the Fellipe who was enjoying himself in the beginning was now rubbing his butt in pain.
Daniel tried getting up but quickly fell back down on his butt as his legs noodled. Feeling the pain coming from his sore buttocks he subconsciously tried to scream but no noise came out since he had lost his voice a long time ago.
Mathew was the last to get up and started stretching, his face looking exhausted.
The big moth and the bird quickly flew to their master's shoulders and laid down quietly while the mole was sprawled on the ground looking extremely tired.
The three only rested for around 5 min before Mathew finally stood up and spoke.
"Ok that's enough rest, we need to start working now. We are extremely deep underground and even though we can breathe now I don't know how long it will last, and not only that but we only had food for one day in our bags which is almost gone by now so we need to be able to get above ground before we run out of energy." He calmly said while looking down at his two tired looking brothers.
Daniel's face started to change as the realization of the trouble they were in started to slowly set in.
Fellipe looked like he wanted to say something but didn't dare to, however his older brother easily noticed.
"What is it?" He asked calmly.
