Chapter 7 - How is this possible?

After who knows how long Mathew was the first to wake up. He was having a decent dream but a very powerful snoring pulled him out of it. He opened his eyes and turned his head towards where the noise was coming from and he saw the large mole sleeping comfortably.

At first he was confused but quickly widened his eyes and raised his body to assess the situation. The first thing he saw was a hole the size of a head shinning a bright light into the tunnel

Mathew first looked around and made sure everyone was alright and after seeing they were all only sleeping he calmly walked towards the hole.

At first he couldn't see anything due to the strong light but as he came closer and his eyes became more used to the light he started to finally see what was on the other side. By the time he reached the hole itself his mouth was wide open in shock and his brain completely stopped working, unable to think or believe what was right in front of him.

It was at this moment Daniel also started stirring in his sleep due to the snoring with a deep frown on his face. After a few seconds he could no longer take it and got up with his face red in anger.

"I told you to not bring the mole into the room! This thing snores like a-" However in the middle of his screaming he suddenly realized where he was and quickly remembered what happened.

Hearing Daniels scream, all the beasts woke up and started to look around curiously. Leaving only Fellipe sleeping quietly.

His shout had also woken Mathew out of his stupor. He looked back and Daniel and the beasts and gave them a smile before he used his foot and started to kick the sides of the hole making it bigger.

As the hole became wider the wind blowing through became stronger blowing their hair back, and as the light also became stronger they all turned away from it.

"Brothers, we found the treasure, and it's much more than we thought it was" Mathew said with a bright smile on his face.

Hearing this, Daniel widened his eyes and turned his head back towards the hole completely ignoring the stinging sensation it brought to his eyes. After a few seconds he was finally able to see it.

"How is this possible?" Daniel asked, completely dumbfounded.

"It shouldn't be. Yet here it is" Mathew responded with a smile still on his face. Turning his head he found Fellipe still sleeping comfortably, finally making him frown.

"Wake up Fellipe and lets go explore." Matthew said as he crawled through the hole onto the other side.

He was now standing at almost the top of a mountain that was connected to a huge wall that went up beyond the blue sky and extended to each side until his eyes could no longer see it. If it wasn't for those two things he would have believed that he was somehow was transported back outside. Underneath was a large and deep forest and in the distance he could even faintly see a few large mountains and flat plains.

Matthew was very perspective so he quickly noticed some peculiarities. The trees were huge and thick and none of them were any species he recognized with huge mushrooms scattered among the forest that were the size of the trees themselves.

The most shocking thing he noticed however was the giant roots that were barely visible in the blue sky looking like giant serpents. Along with the sun that was shaped like a flower hanging down from one of the thicker roots.

Mathew then heard a shocked gasp and when he looked back he saw Fellipe looking through the hole with his mouth hanging open.

"Come on, let's go take a closer look" Mathew said motioning his brothers to come out.

As the three walked out of the hole the the large mole, the moth, and the bird came out right behind them. The mole quickly walked to their side and moth flew to Daniel's shoulder and sat down calmly. Only the bird was completely baffled as he left the tunnel, flying in place while looking around.

"You can scout ahead but be careful, tell us if you see anything." Mathew said out loud. The bird looked at him and nodded before flying out excitedly.

The three Looked down at the land for a few seconds with happiness in their eyes. With this all their problems would be gone!

Fellipe then commanded his big mole to help them get down and it quickly got to work making stairs that walked along the side of the mountain all the way to the ground. After the long rest the mole was still not 100% but making some stairs was easy. It only ended up taking them around thirty minutes to finally set foot on the ground.

"See! Didn't I tell you! You just had to have some faith in me and my little buddy! hahahaa" Fellipe could help but say it out loud as he walked curiously to one of the large trees and started touching its trunk still not believing all this was real.

"tsk! Shut up, this was just pure luck!" Daniel said as he started touching the overgrown grass on the ground, also making sure everything was real and not some kind of illusion.

Mathew didn't say anything but you could clearly see the smile he had on his face as he followed his two brothers.

After the two touched as much as they could were finally sure that this was all real and they were also not dreaming so they grouped up and started moving deeper into the thick jungle.

It was extremely hard to move in this place due to the plants being too large it ended up taking some time to get through even with the help of their beasts. After around an hour they found a small stream which they used to clean their faces and some of the dirt off their hands and equipment before they started moving once again.

As they moved they were very happy but also strangely confused, why they didn't find any animals or even bugs as they moved. A place this big with water, plants, and even sunlight should definitely have some wildlife right?

After some time they finally found a clearing in between the trees and when they were about to stop and rest the three froze. They found there was a large beast sleeping quietly at the center. The three didn't even dare to breathe as they stopped in place and looked at the huge beast laying on the ground. Its large and powerful breath blowing a large amount of dirt into the air.

They didn't move for a whole minute making sure the beast was still in a deep sleep before they started to look at it curiously from afar. This beast was very large and completely covered in scares with four thick legs under its body. Its strangest feature however was its huge head with the top in the shape of a shield. It also had three large tusks, one on the top of the snout and the other two on its shield-like forehead.

The three looked at each other in excitement seeing this strange new beast. They then noticed that their own beasts were on the ground staring at it in shock. They realized that they were feeling pressured by the beast's presence but the strange thing is that the bird ended up having the largest reaction. It came down from the sky almost crashing onto the ground before lying down in front of the beast while shaking in fear.

The reaction of the other two made sense as the beast was stronger but for the bird to have a reaction like this could only mean it was being suppressed by its bloodline? They had seen this happen before when a strong person with a large tiger passed by their village and all the cats ended up on the ground not daring to move. But this was definitely not a bird so how was his bird affected? Seeing this Matthew and Daniel looked at each other in confusion but no one had an answer.

As the two quietly questioned each other through their eyes they heard a crackling sound of twigs breaking and they froze when they realized the sound was coming from the direction of the large beast. When they slowly turned their heads towards it they were shocked to find Fellipe standing next to the sleeping beast staring at it curiously and not only that but he even reached out his hand to touch this creature's head!
