"Where'd your parents go? I don't think I've seen them in a while…" Josh stated, with one of his eyebrows slightly raised in a questioning manner.
"Oh, you're right… they're not here. Well, I don't really know." Tom said as he quickly scammed h Yh e surrounding area, a concerned look on his face as his eyebrows furrowed slightly.
"One, two, three… smile, boys!" Josh's mother took photo after photo, seemingly still unsatisfied with each shot she got, it wasn't until the twelfth photo that she appeared satisfied and she stopped taking photos.
"Okay, my turn with Josh!" She exclaimed with a serious expression on her face as she reached out her right hand, which held her phone, in front of her husband to take to use to take photos of the three of them. She also took his ice cream in exchange for her phone.
"I'll just use my own phone, I'll send the photos to you later if you want them." Josh's father said as he grabbed her phone, turned it back off and placed it back into her hand to place back into her own pocket. He then leaned in closer to her to steal one last lick of the ice cream before taking a few steps back and going into his own photographer mode.
"How do you want to pose this time, Josh? Maybe a cool pose with crossed arms? We could match poses or something, it'd be cute!" She exclaimed joyfully as she tucked her phone back into her pocket with her free hand and after letting her hand fall back to her side she lifted it in front of her torso and clenched her hand into a fist with anticipation.
"Hm, I guess I'll just stand like this." Josh replied as he proceeded to put his arm around Tom's neck, much to Tom's own surprise as he jumped at the sudden unexcpted contact, and put his free hand under his chin, his thumb and index finger forming a sideways L under his chin with his other fingers curled up.
Josh's mother didn't understand the pose her son was going for and was rather confused about it but he looked cute nonetheless and the aight brought a smile to her face as she let out a light chuckle, she relaxed her fist and instead pulled up a peace sign with her free hand and smiled warmly for the camera.
"One, two, three… onions!" Called out Josh's father as he took multiple photos of his wife and the two boys, he took less photos than his wife had as he only proceeded to take three before he was satisfied with his angles and placed his phone back into his cargo pants' pockets.
"Honestly, you're so strange sometimes, honey." Josh's mother said as a chuckle escaped her lips.
"What? But you smiled at it didn't you?" he replied as he also let out a chuckle as he walked over to his wife and the two boys.
He then squatted down in front of Josh and ruffled his hair gently, "Hey, want to take a cool picture of your mother and me, kiddo?" he said with a smile plastered on his face.
"Yeah, okay!" Josh said as he smiled widely as he waited for his mother to take out her phone omce again and to type in her password slowly.
"Be careful alright? Be sure not to drop it or anything." His mother said to him seriously as she extended her hand in front of her to offer her phone to him.
Josh nodded vigorously as he took the phone in his hands and turned around to walk away from them to get in place, after he was far enough away he turned back around to face his parents and held the phone out in front of him as Tom looked over Josh's shoulder at the phone he was holding.
Josh looked over his shoulder at Tom and smiled cheekily, "Shh, we're going to take a picture of us first." Josh said as he opened the camera app and turned the camera into selfie mode.
"Oh, okay." Tom replied as a smile blossomed onto his face as he looked into the camera, waiting for his photo to be taken.
Either fortunately or unfortunately Josh accidentally and unknowingly pressed on some of the camera's settings causing some random messages to pop up and things to come up on the screen.
Then when Josh pressed the button to take a photo of them both, with Tom's head coming up from behind him as he tried to als get a look of the photo, Josh reached his mother's phone out so Tom could get a better look at the picture and then after a few seconds looking at the photo they both began to laugh hysterically and uncontrollably, with both of them clutching their sides as they both began to bend over slightly due to the fits of laughter they were having.
The photo that Josh had taken was one in which both his and Tom's faces were changed by a filter, their faces had been swapped onto the other person's face making them both look abnormally weird.
Josh's parents looked at each other, both of them with confused expressions on their faces, but they both still continued to stay in their spots as they waited for the the boys to calm down and stop laughimg.
After a few seconds passed and both of the boys had stopped laughing so much and had managed to mostly calm down Josh used his free hand to wipe his eyes for tears before he once again got into his place to be ready to take a picture of his parents, the wrong camera settings we're still on, causing the random filters to stay on in the photo.
Also the angle at which Josh was taking the photo was also from under his parent's eye levels, so the angle of the picture would be somewhat awkward, but nonetheless the photos would still serve to be happy nostalgic ones from their exciting trip to the zoo once they had gotten home.
After Josh had finished taking the photo he and Tom walked back over to Josh's parents to hand back Josh's mother's phone. She and her husband looked at the photo and they both also burst out laughing at the sight, causing Tom and Josh to snicker slightly.
After they'd all calmed themselves Josh's mother put the phone back into her pocket gently as she handed the ice cream back to her husband. They also then started discussing where to go next.
However, Tom looked around nervously before clearing his theought sheepishly and opening his mouth to ask a question, "Hey… uhm, but… where are my mum and dad…?" He asked with a concerned look on his face.
"Hmm…" Josh's parents replied as they both looked around.
"Maybe… the bathroom?" Josh's father asked as he shrugged his shoulders.
"You're so helpful, ——," Josh's mother said in response as she sighed and shook her head, "I'm sorry, Tom, I don't know. I'm sure they'll be back soon, I'll send them a message to know where we are and where we're going so they'll be able to find us soon so please don't worry. It'll be fine." she said with a smile as she bent over slightly to be closer to eye level with Tom.
"Mhm…" Tom replied as he nodded, his cheeks flushing lightly due to his shyness.
"Then shall we decide where to go so you can tell them?" Josh's father asked.
"Yes, I guess we should." His wife replied as she striaghted herself up again and reached into her pocket to grab the map, she then extended her arm in front of her so that her husband could take the map.
However he just stood there enjoying his ice cream, so they all had to wait for Josh's father to take another lick of the almost fully melted ice cream before he handed it over to Josh's mother and recahed out his hand to take the map from his wife's outstretched hand.
He looked over the map briefly before deciding and folding the map back up, "Then what about the avian area? It's special because we can walk through the enclosure and see the birds close up, it's also on the way to the snake enclosure." He said seriously with a slight smile on his face as he handed back the map.
Josh's mother took the map back and put it in her pocket before she took out her phone, handed the ice cream back to her husband and texted Tom's parents that they were going to the avian enclosure so that they'd know where to find them.
