Chapter 39 - [39] Phiphi, The Glorious Teacher ~

[39] Phiphi, The Glorious Teacher ~

As the man was scared away by her aggression, Katrina eased her face. She threw a sharp look at others who were peeking at her way, to be exact, at Kayra. Soon, they retracted their gazes because of her warning.

Katrina smiled and turned around. She held Kayra's hand and said, "Come with me."

"Where?" Kayra asked even though they had already started to walk.

"To teach you how to control your aura," Katrina murmured.

Only she knew how hard it was to control herself while she was taking this Miss 'Kayra' with her!

'What a pity! Why isn't she a man?!' Katrina thought.

Sometimes, fate could be so cruel. She could only be friends with Kayra, nothing else, and that frustrated her a lot. Sob~

...

Capitalia's central park was true to its name. It was so huge that newcomers could get lost easily.

After they had entered a hover car, the car flew over and went to the deepest part of the central park. Kayra was in the back seat with Katrina and looked outside.

She did not even notice that Katrina was staring at her all the time.

When the hover car stopped beside a lake, the two people went down one after another. With vague excitement, Kayra saw the hover car leaving. When she turned to Katrina, she noticed Katrina was looking way too serious.

'Do I look like a country bumpkin?!' Kayra hid her emarasment.

"Cough! Katrina, we should start." Kayra suggested.

"Indeed." Katrina nodded and became more serious.

"Then, what should I do?" Kayra scratched her head.

"First, sit down." Katrina went into teaching mode and instructed.

"Okay!" Kayra sat down but watching the ungraceful way of her sitting, Katrina was embarrassed.

"Not… Not like that. In a lotus position." She murmured in a mosquito voice.

"Oh." Kayra folded her legs correctly.

"Now, take a deep breath."

"Mmm… "

"Close your eyes and calm your nerves and muscles." While saying, Katrina smiled with visible happiness. It was the first time in her life she volunteered to teach someone.

"Hmm." Like an obedient student, Kayra did as she was told to.

"Now, try to calm your heart and think of controlling your glands."

"Mm… Mm?! Glands? What glands?" As Kayra asked, she subconsciously tightened her thigh muscles.

"The mini glands of our body? From which we sweat?" Katrina replied innocently.

'Are you serious?!' Kayra's eyes flung open as she looked at Katrina incredulously. Looking at her so bewildered, Katrina sighed again, sorrow evident on her face.

'What's wrong again?!' Kayra could not understand what goes inside this cat's head!

Katrina shook off her sad expression and put on the earlier smile. "Miss Kayra, I was also taught like that. Do as I have told you."

"Is that so?... Alright." Kayra whispered with doubt and closed her eyes.

Again, she calmed her nerves and muscles. Then, her heart rate also became normal.

'Glands, glands… control my glands… ' Kayra repeated this like a mantra.

Ten minutes had passed, twenty, thirty, an hour…

Katrina didn't feel any change. Rather, Kayra felt sleepy. Staying like that yoga stance was too comfortable.

'Pitiful…' Katrina thought as she watched Kayra with misty eyes.

Phiphi saw this scene from Kayra's mind space.

Kayra was a person of Earth's modern age. To think of her learning the way of this world in a minute was only wishful thinking.

[ She's illiterate too. ]

Even though she could communicate, she couldn't read the common alphabets of δ-solar system.

There was no way it could or wished to assist its host every time she had to learn something new. Also translating spells was a no-no.

The matter of learning was very serious for the growth of Kayra and of course, for itself.

Just when Katrina thought it was a failure, with Phiphi's little vivid instruction and a hologram 3D video stolen from the Azure Data System, Kayra succeeded.

When she opened her eyes, all the milky sweet smell and aura vanished from the surroundings. However, even though Katrina was happy for Kayra, the person involved wasn't.

Right after standing up, a thought flashed in Kayra's mind. 'I need to find a library!'

She needed to muster the basic alphabets at least and then proceed to learn the language. Even though for some reason, she could understand the language, yet she couldn't read any signs. Everytime ste had to ask the system what was this, what was that and that was a good thing!

After Kayra's matter was settled, she turned to Katrina, "Thanks, Katrina."

"You… you are welcome." Katrina smiled brightly. She did not feel the strong attraction towards Kayra as before and for that reason, she was relieved.

Kayra looked around and murmured, "I need to go to a library…"

Katrina blinked and said, "Why don't you come with me?"

"I have troubled you enough…"

"Oh, Kayra, you did not trouble me at all. Believe me and come with me. It's on the way anyway," The girl insisted on bringing her with herself.

Thus, the hovercar from earlier came again and both of them left the place. After one hour, Kayra walked out of the car and looked ahead.

In front of her stood Capitalia's most famous library. Before leaving, Kayra looked at Katrina who had come beside her, and said warmly, "Thanks again, Katrina. I shall go now."

"Let's meet again, Miss Kayra," Katrina whispered reluctantly. She hesitated to say something but Kayra didn't probe further.

"I am not a noble, no need to call me Miss. Just Kayra will do." Kayra said instead.

"I know." Katrina nodded her head vigorously as if she understood.

'I don't think so.' Kayra doubted but no longer cared to mention it thrice. She nodded at Katrina and then turned around to go to the library.

'She didn't give me her social media number.' Katrina thought sadly, 'Does she even think of me as a friend?'

"Cough, young miss, it's already too late. We should go back now." The bodyguard appeared out of the blue and said.

"Alright," Katrina said and instead of entering the hovercar, she went to the trunk. At the same time, her expression turned detached.

After taking out a basket that was shaking violently, she entered the hovercar nonchalantly and put the basket beside her with indifference. The bodyguard silently went to the driver's seat and then drove away into the air.

While leaving, Katrina looked back at the book-shaped building and went into deep thoughts.

...

After looking around for a long time, Kayra felt she wasn't meant for this place. First of all, everyone was quietly reading their books and all of them seemed to be in an indifferent space despite being on the same floor.

She surfed around the whole building and asked the system to translate some of the titles of the book. But even if she wanted to read some she didn't take them with her.

[ Host, why don't you find a quiet place? Let me teach you some alphabet first. ]

It wasn't that it wanted to teach her, just that it felt its host was too pitiful. It was sad for the illiterate host who wanted the system to teach her 'a b c' of this universe.

'Good idea.' Kayra's eyes lit up. She wanted to find some books on basics for self-study.

After roaming around for another ten minutes, she suddenly stopped in her tracks. 'How can I find those elementary school books in a grand place like this?!'

{… Can I change my master?} Cardinal popped out from his dimension and whispered to Phiphi. The system quietly kicked the mecha's consciousness to his personal dimension and sealed the place.

[Don't disturb me when I am busy with my host!]

{Understood, boss!}

Both the system and the mecha were in dire need of energy blocks but could they ask Kayra, a lost little bunny to bring them those?

How would she? By stealing?

She was already mad at Phiphi for taking away that Peace Pearl. If it dared to ask her again to do something like that, it didn't know what kind of disdainful expression she would make...

[Host, go to this site.]

Phiphi told her the coordinates of the baby care section and she found them easily. The bright smile of her was enough to melt its underdeveloped heart.

[No worries. By this δ-solar system's standards, she is considered a child… ] Phiphi thought and felt its host was still young and the future could be paved bit by bit.

Kayra took the books and found an empty spot to sit. The moment she sat down, an invisible barrier blocked her from the outside world.

Before she had the time to react, the surroundings changed and she found herself in the middle of a rainforest.

"Ah?!" Kayra felt as if she had been teleported here but the weird feeling told her that she was still in that place and it might be some sort of technology of this world…

Nonetheless, she spread the books on the desk and opened them one by one. Afterwards, she straightened her back and waited for Phiphi to start teaching her.

The system also left its mini room and came to the hippocampus area of Kayra's brain. It opened a screen in front of it and then whispered, "Host, let's start!"

"Okay!"

[This is bhadg... That one oiurth… ]

"Oh… ah? What … alright… " Kayra scratched her head and awkwardly tried to memorize everything it said.

Both the system and the host went into their own world and began to learn the commonly used alphabets of the δ-solar system.

Kayra was heavily motivated at first. But later, her voice began to quiet down slowly. She looked at the alphabet and felt she seemed to have forgotten everything?!

She didn't let Phiphi know about this weird condition and continued to repeat after whenever it showed a new letter.

After five hours of teaching, the system was quite pleased with Kayra's enthusiasm. It felt like she was a good student every teacher could ask for. Being a teacher felt glorious~

[Host, what's this called?]

The system showed Kayra the very first letter it had taught to her in her mind space and inquired with a tone of a strict teacher.

Instantly, Kayra fell silent. After trying very hard to remember, she thought, 'Bang?'

[ … ] The system was mortified. Even then it did not lose hope and pointed to the second letter, [This?]

'Oit… I guess.' Kayra thought timidly.

[Next!]

Wrong!

[Next!]

Wrong!

Kayra felt she needed a hole to hide instantly. The eerie silence in her mind space was frightening...
