Chapter 12 - Returning to the city

The Green Dweller Wolves alpha wanted to escape from the attack, but it found it difficult to move. The Alpha howled loudly.

Its body was cut into two, and then it froze. Meanwhile, the attack didn't stop there. It continued to decimate everything for another 10 meters.

Al Casendra trembled, his chest rising and falling. He dropped the sword in his hand, gasping for air. His face was pale, with slight veins protruding from his forehead.

He wiped the bead of sweat from his forehead with the back of his hand. After regaining a bit of his strength, he walked toward Snow with his pupils dilated.

He bent down and rubbed Snow's head. Snow made a slight sound and looked into Al Casendra's eyes. Her deep blue eyes glowed slightly.

'Come and Rest'

At once, Snow disappeared into a white dot and entered his chest. Taking a deep breath, Al Casendra walked toward the Alpha and fished for its core. He placed it in his pocket and left the forest at his fastest speed.

Fortunately for him, he didn't encounter any monster beasts on his way out of the forest. However, when he was at the boundary of the forest, a loud sound came from the depths of the forest, sending enormous shock waves. The trees shook vehemently, and the land vibrated like an earthquake.

Al Casendra didn't bother to check what caused the disturbance. He tried to run, but the deep injury in his waist prevented him from doing so.

He gnashed his teeth and moved with a large stride. 'Let me get to the city before you start whatever you are planning. ' He prayed in his heart.

At the top of the city wall, Sir John and Roy looked at the forest with a pensive gaze. Sir John's face turned pallid. He pulled his long beard, and some strands fell off. He walked back and forth, sweat on his forehead.

Lily climbed the city with her lips trembling. When Roy and Sir John saw her, she shook her head. They trembled. However, Sir John couldn't accept the result and questioned.

"Are you sure you checked everywhere?" His voice trembled.

"Could the prince have gone to the forest?" Roy whispered from behind. "Some guards said they saw him on the way to the forest. Perhaps—" He rubbed his temples, pinching his lips together. "This couldn't get any worse than this." He cracked his knuckles.

"Y-Yes. I checked everywhere and asked everyone, but the prince wasn't in the city." Lily answered through her teeth.

Suddenly, an earth-shaking tremor reverberated from the forest straight into the Long-Fall Pass. What! The expressions of the people in and outside the city turned ashen. Those working on the large pit quickly dropped their tools and rushed toward the city gate.

"Please don't tell me—" Sir John trailed off, staring at the forest. He had been having foreboding feelings a couple of hours ago toward the forest. 'Shit! Where the hell is the prince? ' He exclaimed in his heart.

What are we going to do? "The beast is going to attack the city," Roy announced. He wanted to flee, but he dared not. Why can't the prince stay inside the villa like a normal young man? It's not like he has a magic that he went out to train. Gush! My head. ' He rubbed his aching head.

Suddenly, a young guard rushed to the top of the city wall. His breathing was in disarray. He stopped a couple of feet away and pointed back. "Sir—the prince"

"What happened to the prince?" Sir John exclaimed, appearing before the guard in an instant. He gripped the two arms of the guard and lifted him, looking straight into his eyes.

A shrill voice escaped from the guard. He blinked, and his face turned pallid and trembling. He stared blankly at Sir John.

"Talk now! Or I will throw you down the wall." Sir John shouted, shaking the guard vehemently.

All the intestines and innards of the guard had twitched their position, turning blue.

His heart was racing, and his lifeless eyes stared at Sir John with horror. Lily looked at the lifeless guard and let a light sigh escape from her mouth.

"Sir John, you're scaring the guard. He won't talk like that. " Lily murmured.

"Oh!" Sir John blinked and looked at Lily with his brow raised.

When Roy saw the confusion on Sir John's face, he shook his head. 'Can't you see that the guard would soon die from your shaking? Ahh! What do I expect from a loyal dog?' He snickered in his mind.

Sir John lowered the guards and asked slowly. "Tell me what happened to the prince." His piercing gaze never left the face of the guard.

Seeing this, Lily and Roy sighed. Sir John is beyond saving. They thought.

The guard panted, averting his gaze. He took a deep breath and said, "The prince has returned. He is coming from the direction of the forest."

"The prince is alive." Sir John murmured absentmindedly. He let his raging heart calm down, inhaling a deep breath with his nose.

Whoosh!

Before Lily and Roy could process what was happening, Sir John had disappeared from the top of the city wall. At the entrance of the city, a young man in blood dragged his body through the city gate.

'Finally, I made it.' He thought. Suddenly, a gush of wind appeared before him. The young man took a step back and frowned. Two strong arms wrapped around the young man and hugged him like a koala.

The young man gasped for air. He knocked the person hugging him with his head, but the person was oblivious to his predicament. 'This person is going to be my death.'

Left with no choice, he kicked the foot of the person hugging the person, and a cry escaped from the person.

"Why did you do that?" Sir John exclaimed when he saw Al Casendra gasping for air. He realized his mistake and didn't know whether to laugh or cry. He cleared his throat and said, "With a straight face."

"That's the punishment for leaving, telling no one. Do you know how worried I was?,"
