Chapter 6 - Chapter 5 - Arrogant And Insufferable Old Man... Grandpa Byflex.

Felix woke up in a forest. He was wearing a plain white shirt with the insignia of a gold heart separated in halves by a red sword on it.

The sky in this place was cloudless, with a red sun twice the size of that on earth. The entire place seemed to be devoid of humans or even animals.

Was this the real Heaven? What the?

"So you're awake, huh?"

Felix heard a soft female voice behind him and almost jumped out of his skin in shock. His heart beat accelerated as he quickly dashed back.

"Who's there?" Felix asked vigilantly as he searched around with his eyes.

"Cough cough. Ya know kid, not everyone would appreciate such a heroic exit." A tall old man walking with a short slender girl by his side walked up to Felix with a smile on both of their faces.

"Where am I?" Felix asked as he looked around himself in absolute confusion. His brows twitched as he remembered dying after killing the mutant gorilla.

I really did it this time. Felix thought in remorse as he wished he had killed the gorilla in a more horrifying way before dying with it.

"This is the realm of Ultra-Dimension." The short haired girl announced as she took a step, drawing closer to Felix before grabbing his arm and examining his eyes closely before adding, "Well for an anomaly you sure have very weak genes in your body. You might be no match for what is coming Felix. Sigh..."

Felix was taken aback. No match for what is coming? He's dead! What could possible happen to a seventeen year-old that's already dead?!

"Shut up kid you're not dead. You're in a place to decide if you die or live. It's like a game, if you win you live, but if you lose you will surely die." The old man said as he let out a knowing sigh.

Wait... so I'm not dead... Then...?

Oh f*ck it! Did I reincarnate into another dimension?!

"Figured it out in a second, eh? That's not bad for a newly awakened." The old man grinned as he looked down upon Felix. "If you survive what's coming, you can live... but if you can't you will die. Simple as that."

"Well, I heard that people who wake up from this kind kf thing will fully awaken their powers?" Felix muttered under his breath with his head bowed. How he wish that could be true.

"Humans are such pitiful creatures. No one gets stronger here kid... this is a place that'll decide your future, not increase your strength." The little girl said as she dropped Felix's arm, then, looked up to the sky.

"You have to be ready for the survival game that'll start in approximately ten minutes. Please don't die..." The old man looked as if he was tired of seeing people die. "Seeing people dying really makes me sick. Humans and Mutants alike are so weak and pathetic." He shook his head solemnly with eyes narrowed before he looking at Felix who had clenched his fists tightly.

"I won't. Who is stupid enough to let himself die? I'll make sure I walk out of this alive." Felix said with his fists tightly clenched. After some seconds he let out a sigh and released his fists clenched fists.

"You seem smart... I'd really like it if you don't die." The little girl smiled sweetly before turning to the old man.

A man watched the trio from the distance. He was towering above five metres with a huge broadsword that had exquisite red runes coating it's blade strapped to his back. He had gold spiky haired with a fierce glint in his gold eyes as he folds his huge arms the size of Felix's thigh before his chest.

His name was Kypton, it was his mission to ensure that no one goes against the rules in the game. This was the first time he had met a human with so much determination in him, but it was a pity it was too weak.

Kypton frowned as he jumped off the big boulder he stood upon earlier. He landed swiftly on the ground with a shockingly muffled thud, as he stretched.

"Although the kid is weak he has potential and intelligence. Let's see how this goes." Kypton said with a broad ear to ear grin on his face. "Heh heh, and he's shockingly a Telepath. Interesting."

Felix suddenly felt a chill run down his spine as all his hair rose up. He instantly turned extremely vigilant as his instincts screamed 'BE CAREFUL!' to him.

Looking around, he found nothing... his eyes were flashing as he searched around for what made him feel danger.

Was someone targeting him?

"What what do I call you both? Or is old man and little girl all right?" Felix said with an awkward expression on his face as he glanced at the old man and the slender little girl respectively. These two had went on babbling nonsense to him without introducing themselves.

Reincarnation? Me? Bah, I think this is some kind of mental awakening ceremony for true anomalies. As for whether humans are truly involved... let's call it a bad joke.

"Call me Aerial, and this insufferable and arrogant old man over here is called Byflex." The little girl said as she points her thumb back to the old man.

"Eh?" Byflex rolled up his sleeves as he walked up to Aerial with a frown on his face. Children nowadays are very disrespectful, who gave this kid the right to spit out such words?!

Where... where's my cane! Oh, forgot I don't have a cane.

"It's true. You look like someone who could be arrogant." Felix shrugged as he looked directly to Byflex who turned pitch black at the comment.

"You've only known me for approximately ten minutes! Does arrogance show on the face?" Byflex protested with anger on his face as he sighed sharply before muttering something to himself. "Stupid stupid stupid."

Ding~~~

The shrill sound echoed in Felix's ears as a frown appeared on his face. A Mental Alert? Why?

Felix instantly shot a look in the old man's direction, getting a confused stare in response. He instinctively looked down to his wrist for time, but discovered that his beautiful watch was replaced by a strange device.

[05:00:00]

[500/250]

What the f*ck is this?!

"Timer? Byflex what's going on?" Felix asked as he lifts his eyes to meet himself standing in a white room. He looked around to discover he was completely alone in the strange place. "Holy! Where the hell did the entire forest go? Where did this room come from? Where did those two disappear off to?

"All anomalies should vacate their respective rooms immediately. There are five hundred people in this building... only two hundred and fifty must come out alive. Use any method possible to be among the last onesones standing." A soft mechanical female voice rang in Felix's head as he froze instantly.

What was this?

Only a half of the original number shall survive? They want us to kill each other! Do they think we'll really do that?!

As Felix was contemplating, an explosion was heard outside... followed by a second then third... soon enough sporadic explosions were heard outside.

Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom!

F*ck! Those idiots!

The white room rumbled as Felix lowered his eyes to his wrist. His heart drop immediately he saw the numbers.

[05:58:21]

[412/250]

Dropped by 88... eighty eight were killed. Is this real?

"They are really killing one another..." Felix lowered his head as fear crept into his heart and mind. His eyes flashed in a remorseful light as he began to recollect memories of the past seven years of his life.

Everything changed because of some stupid childish mentality. He wasn't a hero, Why did he have to die for another person! He lived his life as normal as a mutant could do, until all this anomaly nonsense.

Attacked by a gorilla for his awesomeness... why did I save that girl? I could have ran, I could have escaped... but I didn't...

I'm not a hero!

Rumble~

Large chunks of the ceiling had begun to rain down like hailstones, startling Felix who was in the middle of his thoughts.

Felix knew that if he didn't do something now, he'll die for real. Suddenly the white room began to crumble and Felix subconsciously started to jog away.

The white walls were crumbling to dust as a stranger purple gaseous substance went through the gaps in the ceiling. Felix didn't spare a look back as his jog slowly became a sprint.

Sizzle~

Hearing the noise of something melting made Felix's scalp turn numb. Acidic gas... oh f*ck!

Crack!

Suddenly, the room trembled as the white floor frighteningly split in halves making Felix stumble down to a stop. Without any warning, the roof collapsed. Huge chunks of a strange white metal crashed down with the roof.

Felix didn't need anyone to tell him what to do. He jumped towards the door, slamming it open with his body and hurtling out of the collapsing building.

The building completely collapsed behind the pale face Felix. If he had been a second slower, then...

Gulp! Felix gulped inaudibly as he lowered his eyes and stared in panic at the screen of the watch on his arm.

[05:50:01]

[402/250]

Ten more people down... Only a second slower and it could have been eleven...

Bang! Bang Bang!

Felix looked around to see a battle behind him. Energies flew alongside bodies as the once peaceful forest was turned into a full fledged battleground in a blink.

His knees wobbled as he looked on to the death before him. Mutants, Deviants and Humans alike lay dead or half dead around the forest while the ones still standing were in a heated battle.

If not for the absence of Variants, Felix would think he had somehow travelled back in time to the European Battlefield where the first war broke out.

Variants, Mutants and Humans were slaughtered like pigs... yet part of Europe was still destroyed by the dropping of a nuke from the said Hero's United Alliance.

This was just like those days... war... survival... only the fittest survives.

Some spineless cowards were scared sh*tless and running about, some were forced to kill, some bathed in the death, but everyone had something common goal in this strange place...

They were fighting for their lives.

Felix looked up with resolve burning in his gaze. He won't die here. He must not die in this stupid place.
