"At this time, you are forbidden to fight not harm each other whether directly or indirectly. You are required to work together to build the foundation of the Tower of Erase."
Crimson immediately scowled. "I really don't like the sound of that." Kyra scoffed.
"Feeling's mutual. I don't like to work with you either."
"No. No. No." Crimson immediately pulled Kyra's arm to pull her back to him. "I did not mean that. Look, I understand we're both champions. I get it. I'm happy my power is more awesome than yours."
"You can control the blood and minds of living beings. I can control the plants and non-living things. That doesn't make our powers given by the Tower inferior from each other." Kyra strongly shook off Crimson's hand.
"Okay, fine. But that's not the point. What I want to say is, I don't like how the Tower of Erase make use of us to steal the important artifacts from different races just to what? Have fun seeing us suffer? Is there any -"
Kyra coldly humphed. "When you kill those humans, when you watch them struggle and plead for mercy at your feet. Didn't you let them say their pleas with pitiful faces because you enjoy seeing them suffer?"
Crimson was tongue tied when his own past deed were slapped in front of his face. He could not endure it any longer and huffed.
"Okay, fine. I did all of that for my enjoyment okay? But that's not the point. The point is, why is the Tower using us to do it's whim? What's the point of choosing us as champions? I mean, aren't you curious about the Tower's goal?"
Kyra only shrugged. Before turning around and walk away.
"You do not question the Tower's intention. That's the first rule if you still want that unlimited power of control in your hands."
Crimson lagged behind. He opened his mouth to say something but chose to close it instead. Kyra walked in the quiet corridor with heavy red crystals and hideous horns hanging in the walls.
They decorate the whole castle, giving off the feeling that they are displayed to add on more dominance and fear to the personnel who stepped foot inside the castle. Kyra ignored it all and walked ahead.
Crimson was walking right behind her. He kept on measuring her body, trying to discern why is she not affected by his power. Is it because she was a champion too? Was it the voice's doing?
[Yes.]
The voice suddenly rang in his mind. Making Crimson momentarily stunned.
[In the next hundred years, the second champion of the Demon realm, Crimson Silverdale is forbidden to discriminately kill any race without further valid reason. With the exemption of being attacked and the other race's presence threatens your race existence and mission from the Tower, you are not allowed to kill anyone.]
Crimson's eyes went wide. With the fluctuation of his emotion, he momentarily lose control of his servants and all the million demons living in the demon realm restored their consciousness.
But it was only in a fleet of a moment. Crimson quickly calmed himself and expand his control and sense of space. He went as far as taping onto the blood of demon pet and letting them do his own bidding. An idea formulate in his head.
"If I control these demon pets to use as transportation and combat those level 1-4, 5-9 species, is that also part of 'exemption' rule?"
[No.] The voice blatantly refused.
[Crimson Silverdale is requested to not waste his effort in wasting the resources from his own realm and use the resources found in the beast realm instead to do as he plan.]
This statement made Crimson's brow raised. Does it mean he can control the beasts?
…
…
Wait, if that's true....
"Kyraa!!!!"
In the quiet corridor with no sound penetrating the walls except their footsteps, Crimson's voice suddenly erupted, causing his booming shout echoing at the end of the corridor. Kyra turned around and glared at him.
"What?"
"I can control the Level 5-9 Beasts!" Crimson excitedly exclaimed. Kyra only rolled her eyes.
"You only understand it now idiot?"
That was the purpose of Kyra all along. Why she kept on imprisoning Crimson. No wonder she always give him the strange look earlier. She must have understood his powers is useful in the Beast realm. Hence... from the very start when he was killed, she already know he can reach this level?
Crimson laugh the thought off. It's impossible. Kyra came straight to the Demon King's throne. Crimson followed closely. When he peaked inside, his eyes blinked in confusion when he find it empty.
"Where's my father?"
Kyra did not answer him. Instead, she pointed to the only opened glowing door at the right. At that, he understood. His father must have known they need to go to the Beast realm. And he have taken the preparation for their journey at the shortest time possible.
Crimson can't help but laugh. His father may not show it, but he always have his ways to find out Crimson's needs. And not hesitating to provide it for him.
"Thanks father," Crimson waved as he step into the portal. He did not look back even once. After all, this is not a goodbye. But he have a feeling he won't be seeing any of his servants again.
So saying goodbye at this time might be his last chance. But nah. He's too lazy to do it. As Crimson's figure disappeared behind the portal, Kyra followed him suitly. She stopped on her tracks but did not turn around. She opened her mouth and said,
"How was it? Your son's ten times stronger than you."
She heard a chuckle on her back but she did not turn around to face him.
"Yes. Take good care of him." As the figure disappeared into the shadow, he left Kyra with a gift.
She bent down and take it. Her eyes clouded in dark hazy mist.
