Crimson was stumped. Then a malicious gein spread over his face.
"What did you do with it?"
Kyra shrugged. "Nothing. I just give it to Father." Crimson was disappointed.
"Oh," he paused. "You should have cooked its meat. Especially the stomach area. Its really good. Healthy to eat and can nourish your fluctuating mana."
Kyra frowned in disgust. "No thanks."
As they talked, the Draconoid had found their hideout and sent a wind splitting vicious strike to destroy the cave. It only took one breath for the cave to fall apart. Kyra and Crimson ran towards the exit before they get buried under the stone slabs.
Standing right before them, is a grayish creature with thick scales - almost metallic. It's red eyes flashing malice in their direction. It's sharp elongated claws are raised in the air, ready to strike at them.
Kyra tried to summon the plants surrounding her to accept her controlling. Nothing responded. She tried again. Still nothing. Kura gritted her teeth and place her fingers on the ground.
Indeed, she can feel the pumping of life in the ground. But the life underneath has a consciousness of its own. It will never bow down to her will. It continued to resist her, fighting against her power to take over its senses.
Crimson was also stuck in the same position as Kyra. He felt there are nearby beasts in the area. Level 4-9 Beasts are lurking in the quiet dead silence of the forest. When he tried to execute his blood control technique, nothing responded.
"Our powers are restricted." Crimson confirmed their positions.
The Draconoid is looking at them with wide menacing eyes. It opened its mouth and another devastating breath was released. Kyra and Crimson barely avoided the deadly shrieking wind.
The tree trunks are tipped off slightly, some large leaves are pulled out of its branches. The vines are nowhere to be seen. Crimson was angered at his powerlessness.
He had never experienced being restricted traveling between realms before. Why now? He's desperate to vent out his frustration. The Draconoid is obviously playing with them.
It constantly let out its deadly breath, not letting Crimson or Kyra take a break. They are constantly on the run. Many tree trunks are pulled out of its roots. The forests have a large chunk of trees destroyed.
At last, Crimson can't take it any longer and pulled out a sword out of thin air. He run straight to the Draconoid, aiming at its eyes. A claw suddenly appeared on his side, he change direction and successfully avoided its attack. But he didn't expect that another claw was waiting for him. Almost like leading him in a position where he will fell into its trap. Crimson gritted his teeth and calculated his chances.
There's no way he can avoid this attack because the claws are entrapping him in both sides. If he can't avoid... he can deflect!
Crimson raised his sword and expected the heavy collision of claws against his sword. He waited but nothing came. When he peaked, three black thick vines were wrapped around the claw that was about to attack him.
At the bottom, Kyra's pale face came into view. She scowled at him but did not say anything. She did not refute his impulse movements, but help him instead. Realizing this, he let out a low laugh.
Who could have thought they can make a great team?
Kyra sent another giant vines of black thorns and circled it around the Draconoid's body. Preventing him from escaping. Crimson took this opportunity and leap towards the Draconoid's neck. His black sword gleam in the dark gloomy forest. The obsidian black color emits cold killing intent.
The Draconoid narrowed its gleaming red eyes. He pour more strength in his struggles against the vines. Pulling and tugging just to set his limbs free. But the more he struggled, the tighter the black vines become.
Before the Draconoid knows it, Crimson's sword has struck his left eye. A guttering roar exploded in the quiet forest. Greyish silver blood flowed down in the Draconoid's cheek.
Crimson's eyes has obvious gleam of pleasure. The more he twist the sword on the Draconoid's eyes, the more blood squirt out, the happier he will be.
His off tune laugh accompanied the Draconoid's guttered roars. Crimson's face flushed with excitement. He removed the sword and plunge to the next eye, more blood squeezed out. Crimson gleefully shouted and thrust the sword deeper.
The Draconoid is losing strength. The tantamount of blood loss was enough to knock him out. Crimson is not satisfied and search for the most vulnerable part of the Draconoid's body. His neck.
Crimson's sword pierced deeply. The grayish silver blood soaked Crimson's clothes. Making him grin in absolute delight.
Kyra was not spared of the blood, half of her clothes was soaked. Her eyes were staring blankly at the tortured Draconoid. Not lingering to keep the poor beast captured, she withdrew her black thorns.
The Draconoid has sustained a critical strike, making it unable to stand up on its two feet. The heavy metal body of the Draconoid collapsed in the ground, shaking the ground.
"Hahahhaha, Kyra let's cook this!" Crimson excitedly shouted in delight.
Kyra tried to walk away but was caught immediately.
"Oh, come on. Where are you going?"
"Forward." Kyra's eyes is trying not to stare at the Draconoid's dead body. Trying hard not to imagine its lascerated body grilled in a fire.
"It's not that bad. Seriously, you can't eat anything from the plants here. The safest food source are strong monsters. They have the most delicious meat. You don't need seasoning to grill them."
Kyra stared blankly at Crimson's enthusiastic eyes. She really wish to get out of here as fast as she can. She can't help but want for this tasks to be over. Facing Crimson's obscure hobbies leaves a bad taste in her mouth.
But then again, the Tower's orders are absolute. If it says they work together, then they must work together.
