Chapter 28 - Kyra

What greeted her is a scene she did not expect to see. She had a bad feeling. But it wasn't at horrifying level. Now she underestimated her gut.

In the dead empty field of dead trees, cracked soil and decaying plants. What used to be a World Tree is now nothing but a grotesque grave. The World Tree is cut in half, the thick trunk has blackened and lost its spark of life.

Warped wires are hanged overhead with hundreds of bodies of faeries swaying. Their necks have the wire cutting and digging through their skin. The light did not dare to illuminate the horrifying grave yard.

The dead air with the hovering silhouettes created an ambiance of death and evil. The black poisonous aura that captured the World Tree all slithered towards Kyra. Feeding at her hatred and pain.

The scabbard of her pure silvery white sword broke under her grip. The changes of color were evident. The blade that has white glint has its essence captured and taken over by the obsidian blackness.

There was a saying in the faery realm. Sword wielders chose their swords that have high compatible with them. The color of their blades, the glint of their swords reflects what's in their hearts.

The once pure silvery color of Kyra's sword is gone. Replaced with deep black that seems to grew darker and denser by the second. It seems to represent a burning hatred that dig so deep, it ate away the sanity, character and identity of the person.

That's what exactly Kyra felt at the moment. Bitter tears came out of her eyes. She does not know whether to laugh or to cry. Hatred is like an eternal flames of hell. Burning brighter and brighter until it eats away all that is within her.

Right at that moment. Kyra heard a voice that spoke in her head.

"Do you want to get revenge to the mortals who massacred your race?"

Kyra's body is shaking from the intense anger that eats away her mind. When she heard mortals, her body shivers uncontrollably. Her words were stuck in her throat. She swallowed a few times and tried to suppress the stirring anger that clouds her heart and mind.

"They did this?" She asked the voice.

"Yes," The voice answered her truthfully.

"Where can I find them? How do I kill them?"

The voice was silent for a moment before saying.

"Come and seek the tower of erase."

Kyra fell silent. Not letting the voice know she was confused. She had never heard of the Tower of Erase. Not one fairy in the fairy realm told her about it. Even her own mother. She wasn't that exactly keen to know where it was and what can it do.

The only thing. She can think about right now is how to find the mortals responsible for hanging her people.

One by one she cut off the barb wires hanging in the oak of the old World Tree. She gingerly remove their bodies from being hovered any moment longer and buried them under the crack dried ground.

Kyra get into work for seven whole days. With her plant type attribute. She kept the earth alive. The plants she planted never dies because of her enchantments.

Kyra then created a hill of tombs to commemorate the dead bodies of her people and the World Tree. She kneeled on one knee and made a life long vow. She swears upon the heaven and on earth that she will bring back the World tree and find the lost souls of her people.

The World Tree is responsible for storing souls for reincarnation within its leaves. When fairies die, their souls will go back to the World Tree to enter life cycle. But now the World Trade is dead. Where did the soul of the dead fairies go?

Kyra cannot imagine that her mother, Lester and everyone's soul will get lost in the void of chaos. She can't let that happen. After seven days she sealed the Magical Forest right at the ravine. She was reluctant to leave the birth place of all fairies.

Kyra finally turn her back and stare at the dead, desolate, deserted land. Her eyes were suffused with sadness and grief. She still cannot accept the destruction of her realm. Vowing to herself to bring back the life of the land. She search for the origin of the voice.

The split sky she witnessed earlier is gone. There was only darkness in the sky. Not a single moon or a single star was seen but there was a hole at the center that shed some light in her path.

She immediately recognize that the voice was watching her from above. And it was from the voice this light originated from.

All the time Kyra did not let go of her blackened sword. And it darkens the more she stared at the dead state in resentment. Without her knowing, the Silver Bloom Devouring Lotus is back in her wrist. It was greatly wounded and dying when Kyra was fighting for her life. Now that she was revived, Silver Bloom Devouring lotus gain new profound strength. And is able to perform the things Kyra wanted it to do.

Kira gaze steadily at the hole of bright light for a long time before deciding to ask the voice again.

"What do I need to do to find the Tower of Erase?"

The voice immediately replied. "Find the Pillar of Asmodeus and retrieve the Horn of Bael, the first demon of the Demon realm. His horn is one of the seven keys that will open the gates of the Tower of Erase."

Kyra scrunched her brows. She was familiar with the Pillar of Asmodeus and First Demon Lord Bael. "What will I gain after I retrieve the seven keys?"

The voice answered. "The Tower of Erase will grant you the view finder item that will trace all the mortals and demons involved in the massacre of your people. Not only that, if you can collect the seven keys before the specified time, the Tower of Erase will give you a special reward item."

"What kind of reward?"

"All you need to know is that this reward is your last hope of reviving your people."
