Kyra did not mind the difficulties of the tasks she was given. She came back to where the Elven Croft Palace used to be situated. Everything was destroyed, but she could still find her way back home.
She went to the west courtyard, where the Silver Lake Pavilion stood tall. But the place is no longer recognizable. There's only cracked dead ground, dilapidated signs, broken walls, and torn decorations.
Nevertheless, she headed into the familiar wooden house and went straight to the basement of her mother. She found out that most of the contents were destroyed. The shelves with the bottles storing important mana-containing crystals and items are contaminated with corruption. Making it no longer usable.
And yet, there was one box that was perfectly safe and free of damage. She removed it from its safety case and looked inside. Her eyes widened. A portal key?! She was flabbergasted, and her expression showed confusion.
How come her mother has a portal key?! No one doubted that the royal family only had one portal key in their possession. Her father should be the only one to possess it... So how did this...
Just as this question emerged, it also instantly disappeared. Her question will never be answered. Since no one is no longer there, since she was finally alone in this world.
She did not hesitate to take the portal key and use it to open the gates of the demon realm. She wasn't afraid of the constraints of the law of casualties. She knows she was completely unaffected by the law that weakens powerful fairies from traveling to another realm.
Kyra then pressed the portal key to her chest and mumbled the words,
"Demon realm." Just as stated in the box.
Kyra did not know that it was actually a portal key with high level magic. Just one word and the portal key's activation array were set up. It encased Kyra's whole body with fragmented lights.
Kira blinked against the sudden brightness. One minute she was in the devastated state of the basement and then the next she was already in the empty land of the demon realm.
The demon realm has no sun. But their clouds are constantly colored with bright like blood like. It stretched far in the horizon, mixing with the thunderous black lightning and dangerous dark mist.
The more she stared at the burning blood scenery, the more she was reminded of the bodies that was hung in the World Tree. She clenched her fist too tight, her nails dug on her skin. The memory of the public execution of her people lingered in her mind. It was like a piercing curse that stab deeply into her soul. Without any hope that she will recover again.
If there was one single wonderful trait in the world of the demon realm, then it would be the double blue and red moon peeking through the heavy clouds. The blue moon function as the sun since it gave off a small portion of light into the dark forsaken world. The red moon represent the silver moon of the mortal realm. Since it only lit up through the light of the blue Moon.
Kyra cannot take off her eyes from the world she was currently in. She got used to her fairy realm where life is abundant and nature is prospering. Here in the demon realm, vast lands are extremely barren. With scarce resources and thin elements.
The demon world is where the dark creatures live and the demon rise up in the ranks through the law of the jungle. There are no governments. There are no countries. But there is royalty. And in each city was ruled by the City Lord.
The City Lord is the head of the city. Each city worships each duke from the Twelve Dukes of the demon king. The demon dukes are the pillar of the city. but the demon king is their stronghold and revered as the most powerful demon in the demon realm.
Kyra is well aware of the strength each demon has. Her mother will always tell her that the demon clan's destruction skill is the strongest, especially their physical strength.
But Kyra was not worried. She had already been in the demon realm twenty times. Performing the task given to her by the Faery King. She had also faced the zither demon and the ice demon. She was not afraid. She died once. She already lost everything. What was there to be scared of?
A gust of wind blew, bringing with it the thick stench of blood in the air. Kyra looked up. The black mist is still hovering above in a dense black substance. She was sure the blood does not come from there. When she stared ahead, she saw little shadowy figures in the ground. Not one. Not two. But a legion of them. Scattered like someone dumped them in the ground before heading in their way.
Kyra did not hesitate to approach. She saw the horns that stand out from their heads and figured they are demons. It was difficult to determine their identities considering they no longer have skin and faces but skeletons in decaying process.
And yet the blood she saw the ground is still wet. Which means that they are killed recently. Kira swallowed the dryness in her throat caused by the stale air and raise her vigilance in her surroundings.
This is not good, she thought. The psycho demon has been here. She had never met him. Yet she witnessed his masterpiece of bloodbath a countless times. She always avoided him. She can't afford to clash with him. Because among the demons, this particular purge prince is the most powerful and the most ruthless. He loves the scent of blood. To the point where half of the human population depleted because of his sick taste.
Kyra realized she cannot stall and linger in the massacre site. Afraid that the Prince of Massacre responsible for this will come back. She still needs to retrieve the Horn of Bael.
