With scrunched up eyebrows, Ryver shifted his arm and reached for the man's back collar, deterring his actions by choking his neck.
"Wait." Ryver's eyes were slightly skeptical as he glanced at a specific door.
With wide eyes, the man struggled against Ryver's pull. The other survivors had gone for safety towards the stairways since it's feasible the floors have been compromised by the flock of the ordinary mutated beasts.
And with Jacob still tugging the door open for them, safety was just right before him and he wasn't about to relinquish it because of what Ryver had to say. The man's attitude turned savage and he was about to veer around and say something when the door to the room before him exploded into smithereens and a winged creature slammed into the wall nearby, missing the man's skull by a hair's breadth.
Bang!
Shocked and wide-eyed, the man hurriedly lunged backwards behind Ryver in fear.
Ryver glanced at the frightened grownup man with the corner of his and his expressionless face turned strangely more cold than it previously was. He then turned his attention towards the winged creature who was still gripping to the wall with its sharp talons.
Sawdust caused by the destruction of the door along with the fog and the darkness of the night made it almost impossible to identify the creature, apart from its structure which almost looked humanoid.
Jacob felt his heart tighten and his throat throbbed. The hairs on his neck rose and stood on end as he stared at the creature before him illuminated by the slight gleam coming from the rooms. Slightly hesitant, he gritted his teeth as he swiftly scanned the status of the creature before him.

In that minute, Jacob felt his throat tighten against his lungs as he felt immense pressure from the creature before him. A Type 1 creature already within the company? The immensity of this couldn't be explained with just words.
"Fall Back!" Jacob screamed his lungs out and without hesitation, he rushed into the stairways, sealing the door behind him without wavering. He rested and panted on the iron door, his clothes doused with sweat. While his heart was heavy and his conscience fighting against his actions of locking Ryver and the survivor with the Type 1 creature, his brain informed him that it was a necessary risk he had to take for himself and the survival of the survivors. Moreover, the creature was between him and them, there was no way they would be able to move past the creature in one piece.
In addition, he had long figured out that Ryver was no ordinary human, his strength was above theirs, there's a possibility he might in fact survive but encountering a creature more than ten times stronger than a regular human, would require luck to survive from it.
Besides, the door might not be able to hold the creature if it decides to move towards other stairs. They needed to act quickly.
"Where's Ryver?" Seeing Jacob made it without Ryver, Katniss couldn't help but inquire. Hearing this, Glinda and Daveen turned towards Jacobs with quizzical expressions on their faces.
"A Type 1 creature made it into the building." Jacob's face contorted as he whispered without the other survivors hearing about it.
Glinda's expression turned white and Katniss's eyes turned white while Daveen staggered backwards as the colour drained out of his face.
"T-type 1? We are so dead, so screwed." Daveen stammered and suddenly started to panic. Out of the survivors, only Jacob and Ryver's attribute was above 5 points, but that wasn't nearly enough to deal with an already evolved beast with attributes above ten points and the fact that it had already evolved makes it even stronger than a regular creature with ten points of attribute.
"Calm down Daveen we can get through this." Then she turned towards Jacob as she whispered.
"What should we do now? We can't head out of the company with the Lickers and other beasts roaming around the streets, we will be feasted upon one by one." Katniss seem to have calmed down quickly as she spoke.
"We need to get the hell out of this floor or anywhere close it first, then we can plan what next to do." Jacob's face hardened and a vein popped out of his neck as he spoke.
On the 40th floor, the creature slanted its neck and suddenly dropped to the ground, then its body stretched as it stood upright seeming like a human but apparently, its legs seem to be bent backwards.
Ryver's pupils constricted upon seeing this and the status.

A mutated human, already? The beast standing upright was even taller than him by a head. Unexpectedly, his eyes brightened and the boredom in his face was rapidly wearing thin as he made the connection. If beasts could mutate due to the severe amount of radiation in the atmosphere, that also signifies humans could mutate, but the probability of a successful mutation in the cells of a human is so meager that most humans die from the process, but this person seems to have survived it.
"Hey, can you talk?" Ryver's voice suddenly rolled within the quiet hallway, startling the man who was shivering in the corner of the hallway and the creature. The arrival of the mytates human seem to have scared off the mutated giant pigeons.
The Mutant opened its mouth and a sharp deafening shriek tore through its beak, piercing through Ryver's eardrum like a siren.
SCREEEEEEEEE!
"Okay! Alright! You are mute, I got it."
SCREEEEEEEEE!
The mutant shrieked in pure duty and with a loud bang, the ground beneath the mutated human instantly caved in as it flapped its wings backwards. In that instant, it shot towards Ryver with a whoosh like an arrow leaving its bow, its agility leaving several after images, far faster than what Ryver had experienced from the Sabre-Tooth Tiger.
Ryver had seen the attack coming, but its speed had exceeded his imagination. He was barely able to react when the mutated human arrived before Ryver in a split second, a massive strength slammed into him like a moving train.
KABOOM!
