Approximately thirty minutes later, Ryver urged his eyes open. He had rested sufficiently and while he was still too unstable and tired to do anything, he had regained a bit of his stamina thanks to his increased vitality and to his snooze sleep.
His body was forcing him to shut down and fall unconscious, but Ryver compelled himself awake. He had been in situations worse than this several times and this time wasn't any different.
His nerve shook severely as intense pain comparable to that of a billion needles stabbing into every cell in his body assaulted him but he stood up, ignoring the shooting pain stabbing all over his body and limped towards a building, cradling his left arm with his right. He clenched his teeth and his muscles free softly and retracted as he suddenly slammed his left shoulder against the wall. Ryver grunted as extreme pain shot up from his body into his brain like lightning. His body trembled and his muscles twitched and sweat dripped profusely down his face, but his expression remained casual.
His blue eyes were clotted with a few red spots of blood as he gazed around at his surroundings. His eyes locked onto the three-meter tall beast not too far from him, Ryver shuffled forwards and yanked his blade from its skull, using his right arm, he sliced through the flesh of the beast and procured the nuclei after some struggle. He needed to regain as much stamina as he could otherwise he would be powerless if someone or something decided to walk into this territory without fear of the Saber-Tooth Tiger and seeing the situation, they would definitely attack him.
Without waiting to read the information, Ryver popped the nuclei into his mouth and munched. An intense taste of glucose gas filled his mouth once more like a cool and refreshing feeling entered his belly and sank into his body, spreading like a wave as he felt the cool feeling reaching deep into his bones.
Ryver sighed with closed eyes. The feeling was so comfortable compared to the pain he felt all over. Promptly after the feeling faded, he noticed a notification pop up in his line of sight.
[Type 1 beast nuclei eaten, 3 points of strength gained, 1 point of vitality gained and 1 point of agility obtained.]
It was then Ryver noticed something. "Open Status."
[Ryver Mvcyger] | [Sex: male] [Age: 28] | [Strength: 13] | [Agility: 14] | [Vitality: 12] | [Evo points: 47.00]
Ryver's eyes squinted as he carefully examined his attributes, so there was actually a way to increase his attribute without going through the evolution procedure.
He read through the data about Nuclei once more.
[Genetic Nuclei: Nuclei contains pure radiation energy gathered from within the body of a beast. It can strengthen the human body if ingested Evolution Points ranging from 0.1 to 10 could be obtained, depending on chance.]
[There is also a 1.0 percent chance Nuclei contains its beastly ancestral genome. Meaning there's a one percent chance of gaining a skill or a technique from a Nuclei]
It appears that the nuclei could heighten his bodily limit without the procedure of evolution, but it seems to be very restricted. Sadly, he wasn't able to develop any ability from the beast.
He had attempted increasing his stats by consuming his Evo points, but he felt as though his body was a filled and tightly sealed cup. If more water is forcefully added into it, his body might just explode from too much power, so first, he needed to increase the body of the cup which is what the evolution process is all about.
But also, there was the difficulty in gathering materials. Ryver shook his head and placed the thought to the back of his mind. All of these were only secondary goals. His primary goal was to get to his daughter at all expense, but he couldn't conceivably continue forwards in this condition. His gas mask had been destroyed during the fight therefore he needed to get another gas mask before his body mutate, something which Ryver would like to avoid. The improvised gas mask was also something just Jacob could create. Additionally, he needed a place to recuperate and tend to his injuries. Therefore, he had no other option but to steer back to the corporation.
Ryver went inside a destroyed building and picked a rough cloth from inside. The neighbourhood was so calm, but that was due to the Saber Tooth Tiger taking care of this area.
Damping the cloth with a bottle of neat water he managed to unearth, he utilized his right hand, struggling but managing to fasten the cloth over his head.
He took a harsh but heavy deep breath. He could finally breathe fairly clean air, significantly reducing the risk of mutation.
Using all of his strength, Ryver dragged the corpse of the Saber Tooth tiger off from the street and into a garage not excessively far away. The garage was substantial and while half of the roof had crumbled the surviving half was enough to contain the body of the giant beast.
He shut the gate and limped as he headed back for Mega-Tech.
A few meters away, a pair of pitch black eyes gazed through a crack in the wall of a building, watching as Ryver trudged away and then glanced at the closed garage, a sinister smile appeared on the person's lips as they turned around and also left.
* * *
Dense gloomy fog engulfed the entire sky, obscuring the radiant sun rays peering down on the earth from the luminescent sky.
Everywhere was hot and gloomy with a tinge of yellowish hue amidst the atmosphere.
Time passed quickly and approximately 30 minutes later, Ryver shot forwards like a bullet into the fourth floor of Megatech through a destroyed glass wall. Using the Lickers tongue, he shot upwards through the stairs and in no time, he was before the 49th floor of the building.
Bam! Bam! Bam!
Ryver thumped on the door to the 39th floor three times in a specific rhythm. Time slowed to a crawl and a few seconds later, the door opened and Ryver was face to face with the three executives and their leader.
They had a cautious expression on their faces and their weapons were drawn as though preparing to fight to the death.
Ryver gazed at them and discovered that they had grown slightly stronger than they had been previously.
As soon as they set their eyes on Ryver, their expression shifted drastically. Ryver's whole body was garnished in his blood and his chest appeared slightly caved in, added with the claw marks on his chest and arms. He looked not the slight bit diverse from someone on the verge of perishing. As though he would topple over and plummet to his death in a beat.
