"I said, I'm not a fan of yours." This man is testing her temper and she doesn't like it
She no longer cares that he looks like someone from her past, a past comparable to hundreds of years ago.
"You're not my fan?" the man asked with furrowed brows and she shook her head
"No, I'm not." She answered confidently
"Then, what are you doing here?" he asked again and crossed his arms
"Oh, who's this?" they looked at the people who had just arrived
'Quant, Opal, El,' she recited in her mind and she stilled before looking at the grumpy man when she realized something.
'Rasheed?' her mind asked in disbelief, as she couldn't believe that the grumpy man is the indifferent forward and captain of JLNC.
'Indifferent, yeah, right,' she said in the back of her mind.
"Hello, are you a fan?" the player who she recognizes as 'Quant' asked her
"She said she's not a fan," the indifferent grumpy Rasheed replied for her
"Oh, now you're all here," Bright and Dewy came back and she stood up
"Kashmiri, you are familiar with them, right?" Bright asked and she nodded
"Hello, I'm pleased to meet you all." She waved her hand while smiling
"Oh, is she your girlfriend?" Quant turned to Bright who just chuckled
"This is your new member." Dewy said and they looked at her before laughing
"Kashmiri," Rasheed's voice took their attention
"Yes, I'm Kashmiri," she replied while smiling
"You're the Kashmiri of the World Ranking?" Opal couldn't believe it while she nodded
"Her real name is Keychantel Desmond." Bright introduced her
"You'll replace Bright?" 'El' couldn't help but ask in a slightly indifferent tone
"He recruited me," she replied, completely aware of the indifference
"She'll be your new off-laner," Dewy added
"Are you even in the legal age?" they all stifled their laughs because of Rasheed's question while Keychantel's eyes threw glares at him
"For the info, I'm already twenty-four, and I finished graduating from college and have finished taking board exams." She said completely offended by the question
She's aware that her height is not really appropriate for her age, but what can she do about it?
"Oh, really?" The man is teasing her already, she's aware of it and it annoys her
"Yes, and I can show you my college degree right here and right now." She said with a frown
"Do it then," her eyes widened in irritation because of Rasheed's answer
"That would be enough, Nico." Dewy interfered and she faced him
"Paul, lead her to her room." Bright told 'Quant'
"Let's go," 'Paul' said and took her luggage
They went up the stairs and Paul lead her to a room with an orange door, she noticed that the other doors are yellow, only hers is orange but I guess that is so they won't mistake her room for theirs.
"This is your room," Paul opened the door for her and she looked around the room
Light blue colored walls, grey table, dark blue colored wardrobe, and light blue sheet and grey pillows. She noticed that the room's interior is a mixture of grey and blue, it suits her taste, as she prefers neutralized or somehow light colors than bright ones.
"You can redecorate it tomorrow," she looked at Paul in confusion because of what he said
"What for? The room's beautiful as it is." She added with a smile and looked around the room
Paul looked at her for a moment, figuring if she's being true or she's just saying that out of gratitude but he noticed that she really does like the room so he smiled.
"Okay, feel at home, if you need any help, you can ask me." He said with a smile then he went out of the room and closed the door
Key sat on the bed and looked around the room, she suddenly remembered her room in the house where she grew up as it looks like this, only that it's a bit more spacious and has a veranda. After fixing her things, as much as wants to just stack her clothes in the wardrobe, she knew she won't have anyone fix them for her and she can't just let them stay in her luggage forever.
She arranged her clothes in the wardrobe, after arranging her things she reached for her phone and she saw that she received a message from Chela. Chela's wishing her good luck on whatever she's doing, she was the one doing it before, she smiled at the thought of that.
After that, she headed down the stairs and she saw them seated on the table. She walked towards them and Bright and Dewy were the first to notice her arrival.
"Keychantel, join us," Bright invited her and she smiled
She sat on the chair next to Paul and she smiled when Dewy placed a plate in front of her.
"Thank you," she said with a smile
"Let's talk about your contract later, Keychantel." Dewy said and she nodded
She was about to eat when she remembered something, she looked at Dewy and smiled before speaking.
"You can just call me Key or Chant, not Keychantel." She said
"Well, Keychantel is too long, isn't it?" Dewy asked and she smiled while nodding
She just can't say that the reason her name is Keychantel is because her parents… never mind.
She still cringed whenever she recalls the history of her name, their names rather, as it's quite unbelievable.
"We'll be having a training match with the neighboring team tomorrow," Opal informed her
"Against IBJ?" she asked
"Yes, and that game will determine whether you'll stay in the team or not." Dewy said and she nodded
"Anyway, do you need to buy anything?" Bright asked and she shook your head
"Not that I know off," she replied and shook her head
"Beauty essentials?" Paul asked and she shook her head
"I still have a box of hydrating masks so no," she replied
"Vieux?" she looked at El because of his question and she nodded with wide eyes
"You're also using Vieux?" she asked with a smile and El nodded his head
"How about Aquaine and Kuro, do you also use them?" She asked
"You use those?" El asked and she nodded
"Man, you're using beauty products?" Opal asked El who looked at him in a bored manner
"Those are skincare products, not beauty products." Key interjected
"It hydrates my skin after spending too much time in front of the screen." She added and El nodded
"You should try it," El told him as Key starts eating
"Hmm, yeah, you should, Opal." Key agreed after swallowing the food she's chewing
"Where were you from?" Dewy asked
"I arrived from Doitsu at one am earlier." She answered
"I didn't expect that you'd be here immediately," Bright said
"Ah, I booked the earliest flight from Doitsu." She smiled while answering
"What was your family's reaction when you told them about joining a professional team in e-sports?" Quant suddenly asked
"Well," she clicked her tongue and shook her head
"They don't know?" Opal asked and she chuckled
"Our father knows that I came here, but they don't know why exactly." Key answered and continued eating while the guys looked at her
At first glance, Keychantel looked like the kind of girl who's everyone's little sister. They think that this girl in front of them hasn't experienced losing and they're worried that she may not take it well if she were ever to be defeated in this field of work or the judgment she will face on her journey in the industry.
"They're that supportive?" Bright asked
"You could say that, my sister's been the one looking over me after our brother married and she's always busy anyway so she just let me do whatever I want." She answered
