It was already a few minutes before eight in the morning, the whole JLNC base is silent as all the members are still asleep.
When the clock stroke eight, Key's alarm clock rang, waking her up from her slumber, she stood up and went to the bathroom. She took a quick half-bath then brushed her teeth. She didn't apply make-up as she know that they'll probably just train the whole day.
While walking down the stairs, she noticed that no one's awake yet. She went to the kitchen and began using the appliances. She cooked breakfast, it gives her a sense of satisfaction to do single tasks like this as she doesn't have the opportunity to do so under the care of her family.
Growing up and pampered, she shook her head when she remembered how her older sister cried when they were punished to stay away from the main house for a month. They were punished because she got into a fight while protecting Chela, she was bullied, and being the prim and proper girl Chela was back then, she didn't fight back. They spent one whole month having only their selves to rely on all the chores in the house.
"Good morning," she smiled while greeting Quant who had just entered the dining area
"Good morning," his eyes widened while looking at her and the food on the table
"You cooked?" He asked and she nodded
"Yes, are they awake?" she asked
"Good morning," she greeted El and Opal who had just arrived after Quant
"You cooked?" Like Quant, Opal also looked surprised to see her
"Yes, let's eat?" she asked
Then, their captain, 'Rasheed' or 'Nico' arrived in his white satin pajama. He headed straight to the kitchen counter and pour hot water from the kettle into a black mug that then turned blue after it was filled with water.
"Good morning, captain." She greeted me with a smile
Rasheed merely glanced at her for a moment then left the kitchen, she looked at their other teammates and they shook their heads. She shrugged her shoulders and sat on the chair, she ate breakfast along with them as they chatted.
"Do you always wake up early?" El asked and she shook her head
"Just when I'm in a new place, I usually wake up at nine to ten unless woken by the alarm." She replied
"Are you ready for the training match with IBJ later?" Opal asked and she nodded with a smile
"We'll wait for Bright and Dewy to arrive, they will contact the other team's manager and coach." Paul or Quant said and she nodded
"I'm already familiar with their team members." She said with a smile
"The other team's off-laner is Wings, their forward is Fox, their mid-laner and captain is Monk, their support is Deck, then their top-laner is Vita." She enumerated while holding her fingers as she enumerates
"They had never been part of the relegation team." Key added
"How long have you been playing again?" Opal asked her
"Three years," she answered with a smile
"That's unbelievable, who taught you?" Quant asked her with narrow eyes
"And that would be easy if you don't have anything else to do." El commented
"Maybe," she said nodding her head
"Why are you so noisy early in the morning?" Rasheed asked as he arrived
"Good morning, Captain." She greeted him
Their captain had changed into a white shirt and black pants. He sat on the chair next to Quant and began eating.
After eating, they placed their plates and cutleries on the sink, she was about to step out of the kitchen when their captain called her.
"Are you barefooted?" she looked at her feet and then she looked up and nodded
"That explains the footprints." He said and pointed to the tiled floor
"What are you talking about, Nico, there's none." Opal said confusedly
"Don't walk barefooted around here," Rasheed said coldly and walked passed her
"Don't you have slippers?" Quant asked and she shook her head
"I thought you said you don't need to buy anything?" Opal asked
"I usually wear sandals or sneakers so I don't have slippers." She answered
"Good morning, everyone," Dewy and Bright arrived and greeted them
"Good morning," she replied with a smile
"We've talked to the other team's manager and coach, we'll start at ten." Dewy informed them
They went to the gaming area of the base and she noticed that they headed to what seemed to be their respective chairs. She stayed standing as they all are seated on their chairs, as she didn't know where she'll sit or which computer she'll be using.
"Oh, Key, this will be your seat." Dewy said and pointed at a blue and white gaming chair, different from the pure black chair that the other members are using.
"Thank you," she said and went to her seat
"Dewy, ask someone to accompany that little girl to the mall." She looked at their captain, Rasheed, who's seated next to El when he spoke
"But she said she doesn't need anything else," Dewy looked at her and she pursed her lips
'I didn't know slippers are necessities.' She grumbled at the back of her mind and looked ahead at the monitor in front of her.
"Don't let her roam around barefooted. What is she, a kid?" She turned to their captain with furrowed brows because of what he said
'This man! He's bullying my height again.' She complained but she didn't voice it out
"Then, accompany her later," Dewy said and she looked at him in surprise
"You told me to ask someone to accompany her so I'm asking you to accompany our new member to the mall." Dewy added and smiled at them
She logged in to her account in the game, she smiled when she saw her username has changed, it's now JLNC_Kashmiri. When the game began, they first started with the banning part, she's somehow familiar with all the characters of an off-laner. Her eyes widened when her favorite, Foschia, was banned by the other team, it was banned by the top-laner; Wings. After the banning part, they headed to choosing their shinigami for the game.
"Opal, take Coraje." Bright told Opal
"What shinigami should I take, Bright?" El asked
"You can take Fiore, El." Bright replied
"Quant, take Surnoise." Bright then told Quant
"Okay," Quant replied with his eyes on the screen
"Bright, can I take Intrepidus?" Key asked with her eyes on the shinigami called 'Intrepidus'
"Okay, take Intrepidus," Bright answered
"Nico, you can take Blitz." Bright said and Rasheed nodded his head
After choosing their shinigamis, they started the game. During the first round, they focused on leveling up by killing the minions. Key stayed in the top lane along with Opal before she ventured to the middle lane of the map. As soon as she developed into Level 5, she rushed to the monster's direction where the top-laner, Wings, is.
"Don't charge yet," Radsheed's voice resonated from her headphones
"El, can you come here?" She asked El
"Wait, I'll level up soon." El replied
She hid in the bushes while watching Wings, a bit later the other members of IBJ arrived in the monster pit as well. She's itching to charge forward as she's used to charging at every chance she gets.
"El, come faster," Key called out
"I'm on my way." El said
Kashmiri's Intrepidus stayed hidden in the bush and when El's Fiore was within her vision, she charged in by using Strike on the closest opponent; Fox. After dealing damage to Fox, she attacked the rest of the IBJ members with Necto.
"Team fight, wait for us."
